I have the Torin 4.5 plush, Escalante Racers, Lone Peak 5s, and now the Torin 6. The evolution of the Torin looks to have narrowed a bit to the Standard size, which would be great if I had different feet. I have wide flat feet, and the 4.5 plush and Lone Peak accommodates my foot far better than the newest Torin 6. I think I'm going to try the Torin 5 wide, and stick to the Lone Peak/Olympus series for the added with of the Original foot size. Definitely a great pair of running shoes, just remember these are not as wide as they usually come.

I was really enjoying these but they're starting to fall apart at only 70 miles. Such a shame since I was able to put over 300 on the torin 5.

I own Torin 6 in wide and normal width. Both are great and have held up so far. Altra needs to mix up the midsole colors. The usual white midsole is BORING! FWD EXPERIENCE midsoles - A+. Torin 7- F

I wear a 9.5 women's but in Altra's I wear a size 10. I ordered a 10 but my toes were touching the end of the toe bed. I ordered a size 9.5 in men's because I liked the color and usually a men's 9.0 is a woman's 10.5 but still, my toe didn't have a lot of room. I wore them with thin socks for a week or so but when I switched to thicker sock, my toe kept rubbing the tip of the tow box and now it's numb. So, now I'm trying to exchange for an 11 in women's! I don't know what the deal is but it's kinda frustrating.

Love the function and comfort of the shoes but I wore through the soles in a matter of a few weeks, and I'm a light frame. The price of the shoes doesn't meet expectations of longevity. Also FWIW, based on often comical conversations with fellow distance runners, it appears we have hit the dark ages of road shoe color options. Can we please get away from only white soles and color combos inspired by rainbowbrite? I'd like them to appear clean beyond a few miles.

I bought these back in May. They blew out on me at about 250 miles, today. I'm new to running and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad number of miles for a shoe but it sure seems like if I'm needing shoes every 250 miles that's gonna get expensive.

Absolutely love this show. Knocked out a half marathon and running my usual roads and sidewalks feel great in this! Started to break down and completely blew out at mile 180. Such a shame for a show that feels great initially.

I want to really love this shoe. As someone who has trouble finding shoes that fit well, the fit and feels of these shoes is amazing. Plenty of room in the toe box for a wide foot and they go on like a glove. But they just don't last. Both blew out on the inner side where the upper is sewn to the lower. Two pair, same result in less than 60 days each.

I used this at work which is just a bit of walking. Within months tears showed up followed up with the sole coming apart. The previous model held up through CrossFit, running, a work. Disappointed.

I saw some others comment on this so hopefully it has been fixed in the new version on Torin. The tongue needs to be sewn up more deep in the shoes to upper or some other solution. Hard to explain but if folds over on the sides to where it gets crimped way down in the shoe. You kind of have to unlace shoe wide to carefully slide in your foot so the edges of tongue don't fold over. It is just an annoyance. Once you get the shoes on properly, I like them. As side note, I really like the light blue color way.

Another swing and a miss: the toe box has been narrowed and the tongue is absolutely dreadful. Come on ALTRA, you are (or were) better than this.

I've ran in better Altras in the past. This shoe has too much cushion and not wide enough of a toe box. I feel like Altra is heading in the wrong direction as a brand. Bummer. Maybe I just picked the wrong shoe.

I've been wearing Altra shoes since 2008. It started with the Lone Peak, then a pair of Solstice XT, followed by the Torin 4.5. Every one of these shoes was comfortable, long lasting and of high quality construction. So, when it was time to retire my Torin 4.5 I was excited to get into the Torin 6 given the poor reviews of the Torin 5. From the start the shoe was fantastic and everything I had come to expect from Altra and the Torin shoe line. However, with less than 100 miles on my Torin 6 the sole on both shoes started to come apart and the uppers to tear. I submitted a warranty claim and in very short order I was on the road again with a new pair of Torin 6. Only this pair squeaked when moving in them and then again with less than 100 miles on them the soles started to come apart and the uppers to tear. Another warranty submission and this time I was given the option to pick another line of shoes from the website. I tried the Rivera 3 this time. They were very comfortable, but I found the front of the shoe to be too narrow for the overall length making me feel unstable while running. Also, the shoe laces were too short to tie properly. I absolutely love the Torin shoes, but the quality needs to come back to the previous standards. My Torin 4.5 gave me 600 miles with no issues and I still wear them for every day activities after retiring them from running. The soles are 100% intact, the uppers don't have a rip or tear to be seen. Altra-If you are having trouble with finding good QA and testing folks feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to test out your shoes for you and help bring your quality back to where it used to be.

Check other reviews. These shoes are amazing but do not last. I recommended these shoes to my coworkers and we like to joke about them every morning too see who's shoes are in worse shape.

Shoes are very comfortable and fit well but show wear extremely fast, the plastic toe caps cracked and split within the first week, it's a shame because they do fit very well.

The toe box width on the Torin 7 is 1/4 narrower than on the Torin 6, and that for me makes all the difference

Before I owned this shoe I purchased a pair of Escalate's which are a great shoe but a little too narrow in the midsole. I decided to buy this shoe in extra wide and while it's very wide in the toe box it's basically the same width as the escalante in the midsole which is very annoying. As others have mentioned the tongue of the shoe is also a terrible design that pokes into your front ankle. Just use a normal tongue on the next shoe similar to the escalante and make the mid sole a bit wider and this will be a perfect shoe. For now, if you have wide feet, my suggestion is to ignore this shoe and look for something else. It's not very comfortable.

Very comfortable shoe (wore it once, for an hour), but the tongue is (way) too short. Not Zappos fault that I'm returning, but Altra shoe design personnel should be advised to lengthen the tongue and to add more padding to it.

My first pair of Altras, and was blown away by the comfort and room. I only walk 2 miles/day, and three weeks in the sole started to come unglued. Incredibly comfortable, disappointing quality :(

When I first got these shoes, and for the first 100-125 miles, I've loved them. But all of a sudden, a tiny hole has developed in the back where the very thick collar padding abruptly decreases into the heel counter. It's only in the left shoe, which is also my slightly larger foot. But I'm now feeling the telltale signs of serious blister formation. I'm so disappointed, as these shoes have been fantastic to this point. They should have much more life left in them. The lining material feels about like a swimsuit, and should ease friction, but it's very thin, and the stark transition from thick padding to nearly nothing has compromised it. I hope sincerely that the next update fixes this problem.

First few run the mid foot was a bit tight but once broken in they were fine. Good cushioning. Given it 3 start due to seams breaking less than a month in

Mostly used for 5 mile walks. Have had 3 Torin 4s, size 11.5 which my norm. My toes hit the end in the Torin 6 so I had to get a size 12. Toes are now fine but toe box is bulky, excess material with some folds. I find the tongue moves as well when walking. Torin 4 has the better shoe design. Best all round sneaker I have had.

Other than the tongue, I loved the 4.5 and 5. With the 6, I didn't have to break in the tongue - it no longer cuts my ankles right out of the box. But the shoe is narrower and not as comfortable as previous versions. Without the original foot shape, the shoe is just so-so and the mild quirks (it still has an awkward tongue, just no longer sharp) aren't as forgiveable.

These shoes are very basic. They are a bit narrow at the tip but other than that, they are true to size. The comfort is good enough for light running and other activities. The soles don't give that much support, so it could lead to foot pain after large amounts of walking. The material is fairly comfortable. Overall, these are an unremarkable pair of shoes.

I ran in two pair of the Torin 4.5. Comparing the insoles, the Torin 6 is 3 mm narrower around the big toe joint. I could feel some rubbing in this area on my left foot, but it never caused a blister. The shoes look nice. The midsole seems fine. It's easy to get a decent lock down. However, I had to return the shoes because the tongue kept cutting the front of my right ankle. I wear mini crew socks, but it was cutting the skin through the socks. I tried thicker socks and taping the area, but that didn't prevent the issue. I liked the width of the prior Torin models; however, I could live with the slightly narrower version, but I couldn't look past the tongue issue. Hopefully Torin 7 is better.
