Running/walking daily. My morning jog is on asphalt and my daily walks are usually on concrete sidewalks. The cushioning of these shoes is spectacular, especially when walking on the hard, unforgiving concrete. Many good shoes to choose from for running/walking, but the Altra cushion has me completely sold!

Don't listen to the reviews about the tongue being a problem. I guarantee all of those people sit when they pee. It's a great shoe. Lots of cushion and one of the best Torin's yet.

I stand all day and wanted to try out these shoes. The body took a couple of days in the new posture but now i feel great.

I use these running shoes everyday for training and walking. They are the most comfortable runners I have ever owned. The toe box width is designed to allow your feet to sit in a natural position Vs squeezing them into a narrower toe box like many other brands. They also have good arch support, and I can wear them all day without any discomfort in my feet.

I now own two pairs of Torin 6, one pair for daily wear and one pair for running. Switched to Chi running forefoot strike + Altra and all but eliminated hip and knee soreness.

I love this shoe. The design is great and I love the heel cup. Even with the laces not very tight, it still keeps that heel locked in. Well done Altra! Ps. An all black color way way make this perfect!

This runner it outstanding! It does fit a little bit small but I actually like the tight feeling while I am running. I have done longer runs in it and it is perfect.

Fit and size are perfect. I normally wear a wide shoe but with Altra Torin 6, I am able to comfortably fit into their medium width and thus have more color options.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Hoka One One, Karhu

I have only had them a month, so far so good. I am old and heavy at 210, and use them on them for walking on my treadmill for the most part and doing some walking outside and around the house. I had been wearing Brooks Ghost for many years and was having some foot pain and blistering. I visited a local running store and based on my foot they recommended these shoes. These shoe fit my foot much better than the Brooks did. If these wear well I will be buying more shoes from ALTRA.

I had to put a few runs on these before I was completely sold. These shoes are exactly what I've been looking for. Very comfortable even during 10+ mile runs.

I've run in Altras for several years. Escalante, Torin, Provision. Fave is the (current) Torin 6. Very supportive, durable and comfortable. The Torin's are comfortable enough for me to run a marathon and light enough for interval/track work. Over the past year or two however, I have been having challenges with my knees (due to about 40 years of running about 1k to 1.5k miles per year). I heard a lot about Hoka's being great for folks with knee issues, so I tried Hoka Clifton, Ricon, Gaviota and Bondi. Most recently, the Bondi 7 (and, just for kicks and giggles, I tried the OnCloud Cloudboom Carbon. Bad idea). None worked at all for me. The Hoka's gave me huge blisters. Never had that issue with Altras. Also, the ride wasn't as smooth as what I experienced in the Altras. And, I found no noticeable improvement in knee support. Altra Torin will continue to be my go-to shoe. Keep up the great work on the Torin!

my only disappointment is there is only one shoe color combination available in wide width, which leaves customers such as myself with only one shoe color option available. please expand your lines to include more wide widths.

Really like the Torin. Had to return for a half size larger, but they are a nice combination of cushion and support.

I have worn just about every Torin model. My favorite was the 4.5. The 5.0 wasn't so great & I think they listened to their customers as the 6.0 fits the same as the 4.5. The upper doesn't breath as well as the 4.5 but it's a super comfortable shoe. I plan on getting a 2nd pr. soon! BTW: I am a sports podiatrist and highly recommend them to patients with high arch feet, calluses and especially for those suffering with neuromas. Thanks Altra!

The Torin 6 is definitely improved from the 5. The tongue may look the same, but the softness is VASTLY improved. Really digging the heel package and happy with this version.

Great update from the Torin 5. Tongue is improved, a little longer which is nice. Fits true to size and the upper is more structured it seems. This is my go to shoe and this update is exactly what I was hoping for!

Great update. Really digging the new heel and the overall looks. Love the White sneaker look. Feels slightly more responsive than the 4.5 plush but still nice a nice amount of cushioning.

I actually loved the Torin 5 but am really excited for the subtle changes on this model. This version feels like a more premium and plush fit and also maintains the responsive ride underfoot.

Compared to the Torin 5, the tongue is no longer sharp so it doesn't dig into skin. Laces are very long. Good support and fit. The toe box is tighter than the Torin 5.

Had deviated away from the Torin to the Rivera but felt like i wanted a bit more substance for longer runs. These feel (and look) really good! Happy to report i had zero issues with the tongue. Sits nicely on the ankle, no rubbing around the heel - seriously very good. The white/gray combo is sick and is my summer go-to right now.
