I waited two months for this robe on backorder but am disappointed with it. This is my first robe from L.L. Bean, and I was thinking I would receive one similar to the one my son got in 2018. His is lined and is very thick and soft and warm. This one is paper thin with no lining and does not look like it will hold up very long. For the same price as the lined robe, I thought it would be much nicer. It seems very overpriced. I have not decided whether to return it or not, but am leaning towards asking for a refund after reading the other recent reviews which echo my thoughts. My son wanted a second robe, but after seeing mine, he says he will pass on the new model. Not the quality of past L.L. Bean purchases.

I waited on this robe and am disappointed. The flannel is much thinner than I expected, and much thinner than the fabric in Bean flannel shirts. There is also a scratchy plastic tag on the side that is noisy and scratches my leg. It is sewn into the side seam and does not tear off. Who puts a tag like that inside a robe?? I have already washed it and worn it or I would send it back.

I had the solid color version of this bathrobe for many many years and LOVED it! I decided to buy a new one in the plaid and the difference in the fabric is remarkable. It's not often I would say this about LL products but the quality didn't hold up. After. just a few washings it's It all pilly and doesn't look or feel good.

LLB always held itself to a higher standard - in the past. This product and the nightgowns are made of an inferior flannel

Initially this robe was absolutely fantastic. It was so soft and warm and it was long enough that it covered my ankles. Which was perfect, I bought it a bit big so that it would be floor length for warmth.
The very first wash, however, it shrunk a good 2.5-3 inches when washed with cold water and dried on low. The material also feels drastically thinner and you can now see light between the threads and it is no longer soft.
For now, I'll continue to wear it because it's not so cold that it's a major deal breaker for me but this isn't worth the $70 or so that LL Bean is charging. Go with something else or take care not to put this through the dryer at all, even on low heat.

I am 5'4" tall. This fit fine through the chest and arms but the overall length was for someone who was at least 5'10" tall! The bottom dragged on the ground. Since I have to navigate steps multiple times a day I was afraid I would trip on the bottom and fall. The flannel was not particularly heavy weight - just a LOT of it. I wore it for about an hour and it wasn't particularly warm. LLB, you need to make this shorter with a heavier weight flannel. Then it would have been great and I would have kept it.

This robe is surprisingly thin flannel and a little small in the upper arms. I have the LL bean fleece robe also, which is a great fit. I returned it. Very disappointed. If this is now standard for your flannel, please offer a thicker chamois flannel version.
I'm happy to pay more to get a quality robe.

Very disappointed with this robe. FLannel not the quality of an older robe which is several years old made in Peru. Flannel is very thin!

The robe was small across the shoulders. Otherwise it was perfect. We ordered one for my husband and it fit perfect to size

I ordered this robe in a Petite Medium. Petite sizes are supposed to be for women who are 5'4" or under. I am 5'3", so the petite should be the right length. However, it was ridiculously long, way past my ankles. Who wants a robe that has to be hemmed? LL Bean should learn what petite sizes mean and make them to fit shorter women. I also ordered the petite regular, which was both huge and also way too long. Don't order this robe unless you are at least 5'8".

I've had an llbean flannel robe for years I absolutely love and want to replace. My current one is lavender but I had no choice but to order a plaid. When the new one came I loved the fit. The material was very thin but I would have accepted it. But the color looked so drab on me, I sent it back. . I'll happily buy one when there are new colors.

I always wash new garments before I wear them. In addition to this robe, I also ordered a light blue robe. I washed them together in cold water, gentle cycle, gentle detergent. There was enough lint from this robe to make two baseball size lint balls. We vacuumed the blue robe three times and used countless lint roller sheets. It took about 3 hours to free the blue robe of the lint from this robe. The washer was a mess. This robe is very thin but soft & comfortable -perfect for me. I like a light weight robe but the mess was not worth the reward. Keep trying.

I have purchased many items from LLBean, and every one has lived up to my expectations, except this one. I ordered the red plaid for a Christmas present, and the color is way off!!! If you want red, then dont order this item because the item is dark burgendy!!! Also, I got it monagrammed, they recommended the stitching to be navy (which would have been a mistake), I ordered the white, thankfully it looks good with the robe! I am very disappointed with this product!!! Do not order the red if you want red, you will not get red!!!

I received mine today. The robe itself is not as warm as I had hoped and the monogram does not look as elegant as I expected It is crooked and the "'recommended'" navy color is totally lost on this color of Stewart Red.
It would have popped more with a brighter color.

This robe flunked quality control due to the unbelievably mismatched plaid on the sides of the garment. The robe is otherwise gorgeous with lovely quality fabric and otherwise good construction. It looks nice on the front and back where the plaids match, but turn to the side and you will look like a circus clown. This would have been five stars. I was disappointed to have to return this. I hope LL Bean isn't going all second class quality on us.

I had high hopes for this women's flannel robe. So disappointed! Sleeves were too long and opening at cuff was HUGE. Also, the sweep is not cut for a woman's body, unless you don't have hips. It's as if they took the men's style and just relabeled them with women's size tags. Too thin for winter as well.

The flannel was not as thick as I anticipated and the item shrunk much more than it should have normally. This was in spite of using cold water wash and hang dry methods I'll be returning it

The robe was beautiful, sized well, but the flannel was see-through and not warm at all. As a light wt. item it would be ok. I washed it thinking this would fill out the flannel more, but this did not help. The colors were good. I had to return this due to lack of warmth.

I've owned this robe for around a month and I just decided to return it. I've washed it a couple of times in that month and both times it was line dryed. I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of the material. The robe is very cozy and soft but the material is, I think, too thin to hold up to regular usage if you want it to last. After one month, the material was pilling quite a bit and it just had a very worn look. I've always associated LL Bean with excellent quality, so this robe took me by surprise. The fit wasn't ideal either, but I was willing to look past that because the robe seemed so nice at first. I found the sleeves to be too short and the shoulders felt tight. Overall, the robe seems poorly designed.

I'm 5'2" 110 pounds, 32B. I bought a petite small and it was too big (wide shoulders and torso, sleeves super long, almost to floor). I'm pretty sure the Petite XS is going to be too big, too.

I have been purchasing this flannel robe for decades. I even own a vintage one that belonged to my mother from the 1970s.. I'm sad to report that the flannel this year is extremely thin and cheap. I really love that I can count on L.L. Bean to maintain quality in a changing world. But sadly this robe are proving me wrong.

This flannel robe and pajamas sre so thin that when i hold them to the light you can see right thru it. More like a cheap summer robe. Ll Besn merchandise is so poor quality at the prices they are charging. Will be going out of business if they don't improve their quality. Made quality clothes at one time, now they certainly don't have that reputation. So sad....

I have had my robe for 20 years. It has sadly become 'threadbare'. From the reviews, I don't think the current available products will compare at all to mine. Do I settle for less quality and pilling or continue to patch mine and wear it forever? So sad the quality is too expensive to sell.

I bought this back in November and gave it 5 stars. Well, I've sadly had to change my review. The quality is nowhere near as good as it used to be for this product. (I've bought several over the years.) In just a few months the fabric has worn and there is a large hole. Sadly, this has been my bathrobe of choice for decades so I don't know where to go for a replacement. Please restore the original quality fabric - I need to buy a replacement!
