Fabric is too thin! This is not the same quality fabric as the scotch plaid women's shirts, of which I have two. I love those thick flannel shirts and I bought the robe believing that the fabric would be the same quality. The robe is not warm because the flannel is too thin and lightweight.

I bought this to replace a beloved flannel robe that served me famously for 15 years. I'm not super happy with the replacement. The flannel is very fine and rather thin, which I guess will make it okay for wear during hot summers, but it's NOTICEABLY thinner than the same flannel used for the men's styles put out this same season. I also found the length on this too long for my comfort and plan to hem it up a good four inches -- the 'below calf' length is long enough to trip me when I go up and down stairs. (What I do like about the new robe? It is very soft and the color is pretty.)

I ordered this robe for my wife for Christmas. It arrived on time and the plaids matched very well from side to side and overall. I was disappointed that the flannel was thin and overall weight was not what I would expect from Beans. The robe is a keeper ,but the user should wear heavier night clothes.

I bought the men's flannel robe for my almost-husband as a Christmas present to replace an LL Bean robe he has had for many years. I bought this robe to match his, thinking it must be just like the men's robe. Unfortunately this robe is not fleece lined like the men's robe. While it is a pretty and soft flannel, it is not nearly as warm as I was expecting. This robe will have to be a top layer over hoodies on cold mornings. Unfortunately, I had this robe personalized so I cannot return it. It's my own fault for not reading the full description. I didn't think the woman's robe would be unlined. This robe is fairly thin, but good quality. I like the length and the color. I wouldn't recommend this robe if you live somewhere cold. Luckily, I live somewhere warm for now and won't have to move anywhere cold for another couple months.I have learned my lesson: always thoroughly read the description!

This robe was ordered to replace a well-worn LL Bean flannel robe that I've loved for many years. The mixed reviews made me hesitate, and I'm providing more feedback for potential buyers to consider. On the plus side the fabric felt wonderful and it's a very long robe with a generous wrap (I'm 5'10"). The minus: the red Stewart plaid was almost burgundy instead of the traditional red, but what made me immediately return this robe for a refund was the plaids didn't match on either side seam. For the price, this is unacceptable workmanship and not what I expect from LL Bean.

For the past two years I searched for a replacement of a 10-year old full lenght terry cloth robe that needed to be retired. Unfortunately the company I bought it from doesn't offer women's full length terry robes any more and couldn't find any other retailers that did either. My husband has a 10-year old LLBean flannel robe that's still in good shape so I figured a flannel robe from LLBean would be a good second choice. The Good: Fit is spot on per the size charts. Enough room and length in the sleeves. Colors are vibrant after washing. Fabric is soft. Not much shrinkage. The Bad: Mediocre construction. The overlocked seams along the sleeve openings and along the waist are a bit frayed after two washings. The fabric is very thin. I hung the robe to finish drying a few feet from a window and can actually see my neighbors trees through the fabric. I'll keep the robe to use when it's warmer but have no hope that it will last very long.

GOOD NEWS: 1. True to size 2. Well constructed BAD NEWS: 1. Use a color catcher when you wash this robe, I bought the Stewart red and it bled. 2. Very light weight flannel 3. Washer had gobs of lint after washing and when combined with the lint from the dryer it was almost tennis ball size when compacted. I was disappointed with the fabric quality used in this robe and would not recommend it.

The robe itself is five stars, having to wait 2-3 months for after ordering is 1 star.

I gave two stars because I got the Buchanan color way and the colors are very pretty. To be honest, I am quite surprised at the quality of this "flannel". It's more like a gauze. What happened? I was looking forward to having a nice flannel bathrobe and instead I got something that probably won't last more than a couple of years. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but I compelled after I opened the package and realized it hardly weighs anything because there's not much to it and is a little bit transparent when you hold it up to the light. L.L. Bean used to be better and made things to last, not sure what happened. A bathrobe is not fast fashion. Surprising coming from L.L. Bean.

Very disappointed in the fabric quality, purchased black watch fabric in past, was much higher quality heavy soft long-wearing flannel. This is likely better than discount stores as it's 100% cotton flannel. But it's not much better than a similar product at 1/3 to 1/2 the price at Target, Macy's etc.

The flannel is very thin and it gives off a lot of lint. I washed and dried it 3 times and my sink is still being covered with a dusting of fibers. I still end up with dark blue lint on my face. The fit and construction are fine.

Based on the description and the reviews, I placed the order as a gift for my wife. Trusting that LL Bean was quality, I expected a well constructed, heavy fleece robe. I can't express how disappointed I was when I opened this one. The fleece is very thin, not the "...warm and cozy" as described. It is not thick, any part of it. It's closer to a kimono than a fleece robe, it weighs less than 1lb. For $100 US dollars, I won't be keeping it.

NOT typical LL Bean quality. Belt is nothing more than a strip of cloth; it folds and rolls. It doesn't lay flat and therefore is very uncomfortable. Began pilling within two hours of wear time.

The flannel is not what it used to be. It is thin and doesn't seem to wash/dry as well as it used to. The quality at LLBean has not been the same nor has the sizing. Very frustrating from a long high standing reliable company. I bought the next size so it would be roomy but oh my goodness it was big!

Just ok imo I am surprised at the quality of material for the price. I expected a thicker more substantial robe. I won't return it but am disappointed. Worth half the price, imo. Be advised it's roomy and quite long, I'm 5'6 1/2" and it's at my ankles.

Too long, and overall large except around the tummy where I need it most. 5'-7" and 155 lbs and bought a medium. Material is thin - more like summer robe not winter. OK for me as I fight hot flashes and didn't want anything too heavy. It's soft. Not "the robe" of a lifetime as I'd hoped.

Two stars for the color however if I could have I would give zero stars for the thinness of the fabric. I can see day light through it! Not much of a winter robe.

Very cheaply made. The belt is pointless. The robe colors are lovely, but I am stunned at the lack of quality. Products are not as they were in the past.

Not like they used to be. I had a beautifully made LL Bean robe that I wore for over 20 years before it was falling apart. This was not made nearly as well, and while I'm told it is the same weight as the one I had, it doesn't hang or wear like the old one did. I returned it. It is soft, but the lack of finishing on the seams of the collar and the difference in the fabric made it seem cheaply made. I found a better weight and better made robe elsewhere!

Pretty color. But overall length and sleeve length are 2-3 inches shorter then an identical, older LL Bean that I own. And the fabric is thin and flimsy.

I had a solid color flannel LL Bean robe that I LOVED for over 25 years, and I was so sad to get rid of it once it started falling apart. Looked for another solid fabrics flannel robe for years, and finally broke down to buy a plaid one, figuring the weight and warmth was more important than the colors. I was dismayed when I received this robe, because the weight of the flannel is probably half of what it used to be. The fabric of the collar does not lay nicely like it used to, and the cut of the robe seems to be more generous and shapeless than it used to be. I'm very disappointed in the quality.

Pretty color. I've had an LL Bean flannel robe for years and decided it was time for a new one. Bought the same size as the old one, but the new one is 2-3 inches shorter, the sleeves are shorter, and the fabric is much thinner, even flimsy. I washed it, hoping that would cause the fabric to feel thicker, but to no avail. Will return it if LL Bean allows.

The weight of this flannel robe before washing is very light- feels like a summer wright robe. And the colors of the MacRae Hunting Modern- are not as pictured. The pretty purple-y blue is not that cheery- the plaid while pretty is much darker than the picture. Don't think the quality is up to the price. Honestly felt thicker flannel robes at Target.

I bought this flannel robe as a gift. It is a thin flannel robe for the cooler summer/spring season. The colors are beautiful, nice long length , the sewing quality is an average. I received it without the original packaging, crumpled, even the belt was thrown in separately and definitely not in the retail condition of a new item.
