Love the pattern, but flannel is surprisingly thin. Not what I expected from LLBean.

I ordered a Medium (8-10) and it's very large. I like the color and the robe but unfortunately it runs large!

Despite numerous washing, this robe continues to shed flannel. Additionally, the fabric is disappointingly thin.

This is not just an LL Bean thing but don't expect this to be thick flannel, it is thin fabric and is good as a cover up but not that warm. Ive noticed flannel is not as thick and of high quality as it used to be (similar to wool)

I bought my husband the men's flannel robe last year and honestly, would steal it from him any time I could because it was so soft and lovely. Finally, bit the bullet and bought my own women's version and ... sigh. It's not the same. Firstly, I'm 5'5" and this robe is LOOOONG. Like, dangerously long when walking up steps. I almost tripped up the steps multiple times while holding my newborn. Second, the flannel in comparison to the men's is subpar. The men's flannel robes feel like the perfect thickness while the women's flannel robe is surprisingly flimsy and poor quality. I will be returning and purchasing my own men's robe for myself.

It pulled on the first wash. It's much thinner than LLBean robes from the past.

I did not expect monogram to be so minuscule in size. Also location was disappointing, expected to be on the lapel.

I've had this robe in Black Watch, since the early fall and it's so soft and comfy! I love how cozy it feels. Trouble it that it does pill, especially on the neck area and sleeve cuffs. Soon I'll move into my true winter fleece lined LL Bean robe that is over 5 years old, an age that this one sadly will never see. I should return it, but-- can't part with it! I should also replace the old fleece lined one, but don't like the new design with the wide fleece cuffs! Who can to anything in that?! Just think of making breakfast pancakes, or sewing in the evening- yeah, no! I'll just keep wearing the old one until you bring back the older style! Your designers need to think these things through!

This is a beautiful robe and very well made. BUT it is very thin and not warm at all for winter. Not what I was expecting. I am still going to keep it though. I can wear it in the spring or fall. The belt could be wider but it's o.k. I would say if you are looking for something warm, get the lined version.

is it me or does the flannel keep getting thinner and thinner every year? I have been buying this robe for the last 20 yrs and this last purchase resulted in the thinnest fabric yet.

For the price, I was dissapointedt in the weight of the flannel. After one wash I don't consider it to be warm enough to be considered a winter robe.

I have purchased this robe twice in the past, once in a nice rose color, then in blue. I wore each of them for years and loved them. It is now time to replace my robe, but the only colors available in this style are intensely hued plaids. They look masculine, and I wonder if Bean is just trying to cut costs buy using the same fabric for both men's and women's robes. As much as I'd like to buy this style again, I won't because of the fabric colors. LLBean, please bring some pretty patterns or solids.Thank you

This robe is very nice, except that its too long as not all Plus size are tall. With quality comes expense. This robe was not cheap to begin with and so my disappointment is that I'm now going to have to spend even more money to get this shortened. This is the reason for only 3 stars.

I never tried it on. I sent it back because the flannel was too light. You have men's chamois robes, why not women's? You use to have them.

I ended up returning this product. It was quite a bit thinner than I expected. I was also concerned about shedding. I tried this on over my clothes. There was flannel fabric on my clothes when I took the robe off. Nice color and the fit was good. I ended up purchasing another Winter robe from LLBean that I am much happier with.

I really wanted to like this robe - it should not be so hard to find robes made of natural materials and after looking in the local stores, not being able to find any, I thought - I'll order from LL Bean. Cotton flannel robe - simple - it will be good quality. It was certainly expensive enough. Unfortunately, there was a hole in the shoulder seam. I am keeping it anyway - I have spent too much time looking for a robe as it is. But I would not recommend it. The seams should not have holes in them. The fabric is soft - but too fluffy. It attracts and holds dog hairs like porcupine quills. It runs long - no problem with it being too short. But I was disappointed with the quality given the price and that it came from LL Bean.

After the robe was washed the material has all little balls all over it. Everytime I wear it I leave a trail through out the house. For some reason the flannel is not the best. Very disappointed.

Robe is too full for my taste, and flannel is a bit light. I felt cold on my back, however I am 87, so this may be a factor. I probably would feel more secure wearing something more close fitting. I don't think getting it in small petite would make any difference. Lovely robe, but I am returning it

So I saw the complaints about lint, but all flannel needs a certain amount of washing and drying before wearing to remove lint. However the lint was excessive, far beyond any other flannel I have ever purchased. The size was just right XL for size 16/18 women and the length was fine for my height 5'10" the hem was just above my ankles and I have a long torso. The thickness of the flannel was thin, but that's what I wanted. The belt for the robe was about an inch wide so it twisted into almost a rope and would not flatten out, which is annoying because I shouldn't have to iron the belt. If the belt was wider, say 2-3 inches, it probably wouldn't have twisted up into rope form. So if the overall impression is that LL Bean has improvements to make in the quality of fabric and the width of the belt.

After a few washings, it was limp and felt like a rag. Loved it the first wearing though. The sizing gave it body.

Robe ran too large, and due to us moving I lost track of time & missed the ONE YEAR window (by a couple months) to exchange the Large for a Medium- so it wraps totally around me & is huge!!! But my worse issue is that the lightweight flannel is nice but Pills AWFULLY this is only after wearing during part of year during colder season!! So it looks awful & full of pilled fabric everywhere after such a short time- not up to old standard of LLBean

At 5' 2" this robe (size small) comes down to my ankles, which is okay as it is a robe. Any longer and I would trip. The sleeves are a good 3" too long, so have the cuffs rolled up and have tacked them down. I usually wear a small to medium llbean size, depending on the article of clothing. The material is soft and comfy. I wish it came in prettier colors. This robe replaced a much-beloved robe from a competitor which fit better and the colors were prettier. I have not washed it yet, so don't know how it holds up.

I loved the length and the red flannel pattern I chose. However, the flannel is very thin. If the flannel was equivalent weight to your men's flannel shirts, I would have been in heaven. Please do the bathrobe next year in a heavier flannel! I sadly returned this, and still do not have a winter bathrobe...

It didn't arrive as a red robe. It is burgundy. The fabric is not as heavy as I expected. I will be returning it.
