In addition to my concerns regarding poor quality fabric, the omission of the collar is a deal breaker for me. I have worn LL Bean flannel nightgowns for many years and have often turned the collar up in a chilly room. I was looking to buy my fourth nightgown and changed my mind based on the style and fabric. The style change and lower quality standards are BIG issues.
Even the more recent flannel shirts I bought for my husband have gone down hill with scratchy fabric and pilling. There are other flannel garments I was interested in, but no.

I hated it. Was ugly, way to big and I threw it away

I love the design of this nightgown with the pockets. However, the fabric is awful. I've washed it at least ten times and it's itchy to wear. It's not soft and almost feels like wool despite being cotton. There are lots of pill balls too. It catches every dog or cat hair in our house like a lint brush. I'm returning it. Very disappointed.

Have ordered these nightgowns for years. Unfortunately the flannel has changed. It is now Portuguese type which is more like a brushed cotton. It will pill and shed after washing. Not the satisfying softness of regular flannell. Will not order again.

This nightgown is true to size and well-made BUT almost $80 for brushed cotton instead of flannel is ridiculous. Returned.

I wish I could keep this soft, cozy flannel nightgown. The fabric is very nice but the fit is ridiculous. I usually wear medium to large petite in LLBean clothing but this nightgown was enormous in those sizes. Even when I ordered down to the extra small petite, there was an extra 8 inches of width. It was enormous on me and would be very uncomfortable to sleep in. I hope the sizing is corrected next year so I can order again.

Great nightgown but it shreds multitudes of flannel specks in the dryer. I had this same problem several years ago but the problem hasn't been fixed. Sadly had to return it.

So disappointed with the quality of flannel on this gown. Pilled after a few washes. I loved the cut, hated the fabric.

I was given a new one of these for a gift. The old one I bought years ago is much superior. I think at the time it cost $30.00 less-- probably 10 years ago. Even the one I bought at a thrift shop is better than the new one. Please don't send me a reply. You get these complaints all the time and do not return to better quality goods like the real L.L.Bean offered.

It is too dark. It is difficult to wear with a rob because the nightgown sticks to it.

Sorry to say I just returned this. After three washings it was still shedding bits of fabric and pilling and scratching. It was not made to the standard of other purchases from L.L. Bean.

I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS NIGHTGOWN. HAVE PURCHASED THE SAME ITEM IN THE PAST AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT. THIS ITEM IS OF POOR QUALITY FABRIC. NOT OF L.L.BEAN QUALITY

My 96 y.o. mother asked for a flannel nightgown and I bought her two in size XS. My mom is about 4'11 and 98 lbs. The XS was like an XXL on her! Sadly, we had to return the nightgowns. The material is soft so re-sizing may be all that is needed.

nightgown is very pretty, warm on a cold night, comfortable, etc. It sheds little black specks constantly even after several washings to try and overcome or control this shedding. I hope it eventually stops giving back little pieces of itself over time.

I ordered this as a repeat to a flannel nightgown I've owned and loved for years. I find two big problems: It was marketed and labeled as Small Petite, yet it's almost ankle length and 2 interior pockets have been added which fall at a very awkward height. Why?? I would have returned it, but I was desperate for a flannel nightgown.

My son, whos had a hard financial year paid $79+ for this gown fof my christmas gift. I put it on gentle wash and it pilled horriblly, chunks of flannel fell off and its just so poorly cheaply made! I cant return because it was gift wrapped and sent by him to me, no return receipt. I feel so sorry he got ripped off and spent $79+ I'm sure this purchase was a sacrifice for him. I just cant let him know how cheap this Gordon Plaid flannel is. Litterally fell apart on 1st wash!

Had to return. There was navy blue lint all over my house, the floors, the walls. I washed and dried them 4 times and still there was lint. After first three washes all you had to do was shake them a little and tons of lint would come falling off. I have pictures. Horrible. Who wants that all over their sheets and floors. You should have seen the lint catcher in my dryer. Was a 1/2 inch to an inch thick after each drying. So disappointed because they were thick and comfy.

I was very disappointed with my two nightgowns. They shed large clumps of material everywhere despite washing them 5-6 times. It is the first time I have ever been disappointed in anything from L.L. Bean. Perhaps Bean should have it's clothing made in the USA.
