This was not a XS petite. It was huge. Two people could fit in it. Not as described at all.

It was way too long and I had to pay $26 to get it hemmed. I'm 5 feet six inches. Define don't buy this.

This nightgown is very soft, very pretty with the red plaid, but alas is also very big! I'm tall (5'10") and thin (120 pounds) so ordered the small. Well, when I tried it on, the sleeves were about two inches too long, the length was fine, but oh my goodness--it was big enough for two of me! Come on Bean--you can do better than this disaster. Returned it.

I've washed this gown 4 times and it has filled my lint basket each time and still shedding fuzz on the floor. I've never been able to wear it. I hope to be able to exchange it for something else. It's absolutely horrible.

I have older smocked flannel nightgowns from L L Bean that I adore, but cannot now buy. This flannel shed dangerously in the washer and dryer, and the horribly mismatched plaid was too ugly to wear. K-Mart probably does a better job of sewing. I didn't dare sleep in it, and sent it right back.

.The buttonholes too small for buttons. 2 buttons already buttoned. Could not get them unbuttoned. Washed in machine & dried in dryer. Shrank some in length. Threw off a lot of blue material from the garment and covered the rest of my wash load. Would not recommend purchasing. Very disappointed.

This is cute, but it has left a terrible mess in my washer and dryer. I have had to wash it by itself to avoid all the lint fibers getting on other clothes. I would NEVER buy another flannel gown from LLBean.

I have purchased several of these in the past and loved them. This is made of cheap, shedding material. I had bits and pieces all over the house even after 3 washings. Sadly, I will never purchase another from LLBean. Very disappointed.

This fabric is cheap and synthetic-y. (Even my husband asked why I bought a synthetic fabric for a nightgown!) The fit is awkward - too big in the wrong place; sort of narrow in others. And for the price - omg! I do not recommend this at all. I'm very disappointed. LL Bean used to have a great truly cotton flannel gown (I don't recall the name), but they not longer carry it, which is a shame.

In-spite of liking the material, I will not repurchase this item unless and until the collared version returns. The collar provides added warmth and comfort, plus a more flattering fit. The pockets sound like a good and useful addition, now please return the collar. I've made this request before, certainly hope someone is taking note!

The flannel fabric of this gown shed terribly when I washed, both on other clothes in the load & left wet lint inside the washer tub. My lint screen was thick with it, when I dried the gown too. It continued shedding as I wore it, on my robe, other clothes and anything else I came in contact with. By the way, this was the only style of flannel gown available to buy online. LLB used to carry various styles of flannel gowns, but no more. I'm noticing lately, LLB quality & selection is lacking, but prices are still top dollar. I will not be shopping here again.

I have ordered this style of nightgown from ll bean for years and always been happy. This time I was disappointed. The flannel feels cheap, like a combination of flannel and something else. It has pockets, why? It's a nightgown and doesn't need pockets. It just makes it bulky. It also itches. I still have my last nightgown and comparing the two I see a change. 60.00 is a lot of money to spend for a nightgown that I'm not happy with. I would send it back but threw away the paperwork.

This nightgown is not the same quality as the ones I have purchased in years past. The flannel is NOT the same -- it pills -- both sides. Made me so itchy I had to get out of bed and find my old one. Also, I don't know why you stopped putting a collar on them. The collar helped keep my neck warm. Please go back to the old flannel and style.

I had the same experience as DISAPOINTMENT. A handful of lint came off into the lint trap each of the 2 times that my 2 nightgowns were washed separately in cold water. I have purchased the same nightgown in years past and have previously been pleased. Obviously the material is of low quality.

I grew up on LL Bean. It's reputation for superb quality was legendary. what happened? I was so looking forward to a winter in LLB flannel. First morning I wake up I thought there were bugs on my sheet. Nope, just little fuzballs of blue lint. I washed the nightgown, my clothes were covered in blue fuzz balls. I took the clothes out side and shook out the fuzz. I popped the nightgowns in the dryer - huge mistake, fuzz all over the clothes, I had to stop the dryer and clean the lint trap every few minutes because I was afraid of a dryer fire. All my cotton clothes covered in lint. The LLBean of old would never have sold something so inferior. The new LLB - not so much. Bottom line - a sub standard production

I had purchased this same nightgown years ago and lived in it. In September I accidentally spilled bleach on it and had to buy a replacement. What a disappointment! The previously 100 percent woven cotton flannel is now a scratchy blend that pills and actually created a contact rash around my neck. The material does not wash well, is not comfortable, and looks old and worn after only months of wear. I go to llbean and pay the high price for quality. This was cheaply made and did not compare to the same item purchased years ago.

I tried it on, and it was big but meant for after surgery lounging so I shrugged off the size. I washed it by itself thank goodness. When I went down to get it out of the washer, I was greeted with huge fluff balls and tiny pieces of lint all over the drum of the washer. Taking it out of the washer put lint all over the floor and myself. It was wet and didn't want to take the disaster out of the laundry room. Put it in the dryer for five minutes and the lint trap was filled. Another five filled again. Stopped dryer and huge fuzz balls inside with gown. Took gown out shook it a bit and floor covered again. Lots of clean up. Called Beans was told to return it. Can't imagine a garment this size could have any more lint left. Was told no more left. Disappointed to say least. Wish I had been offered an alternative color.

Brand new, and the fabric was pilled. Looked cheap, and felt flimsy, didn't even feel like 100% cotton. Washed it once (after it arrived) and again after sleeping in it less than a week - I was hoping it would shrink a bit and the weave tighten up. This didn't happen, and I found holes - as if the fabric was wearing thin - in one of the sleeves. On the plus side, I loved the pockets, and the plaids matched at the side seams. I wanted this nightgown to be like the wonderful LLBean nightgown my mom received as a gift a couple years ago, but I was disappointed. Had to return it.

Cotton flannel is very scratchy and uncomfortable, continues to shed a lot of fabric even after repeat washings. Very disappointing.

I bought 3 of these flannel night gowns. I have bought LL Bean flannel night gowns for over 10 years. I don't know why they changed the design. The gowns with collars help to keep your neck warm. These do not. These nightgowns are very scratchy on your skin and the flannel peels. I shook a lot of peeling flannel out of them when I first got them. After washing before I wore them, they still are peeling flannel and scratchy. I can not wear these because they are so scratchy on my skin. These are not the same flannel gowns that LL Bean usually makes. Certainly not the same soft smooth flannel. I will be returning all 3 today. I am so disappointed with these gowns.

I have bought and worn LL Beans original Vintage Flannel NIghtgowns for longer than I can remember. I absolutely loved them and purchased new ones every year. I probably have a dozen of them in various levels of wear. I wear them year around and keep them until they are thread bare. I am very sad to say, this new nightgown is inferior in both fabric and style. After washing this new one 6 times, the flannel was still piling and shedding everywhere and the fabric became scratchier, less soft with each washing. The new style is about 2/3's of the amount of fabric as the original one. I loved the old ones because they were so large and comfortable. The new pockets are unnecessary. They are bulky and uncomfortable. Please bring back the original long time style and fabric! I have looked and looked and I cannot find another flannel nightgown like it!

Agree with other reviews. We do not like this product. I didn't realize LLBean changed the fabric. This cotton Flannel is nothing like any cotton I have purchased. It has "static cling" and VERY ITCHY. I Purchase Cotton to avoid the static. I pay this crazy high price for quality. I washed mine hoping for a change. Nope, it's worse than a gown purchased from a medium tier department store. I have purchased 5 gowns over the years and happy to pay the high price point because they WERE perfect. Now I am on the search for a vendor. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!.

I cannot begin to describe how sad I am that I can no longer purchase the LLBean flannel gown with the collar. That product was top of the line and I have several that are still going strong after 10 years. This gown is simply CHEAP in comparison. It is shapeless, the pockets are bulky in the gown and the flannel is thin. I will be returning and begging you to bring back the old style. They were made in China, but they were top quality. The new style is made in El Salvador and the differences are obvious in workmanship, fabric quality and styling. The attention to detail is no longer evident; the old style had piping, better buttons, solid stitching and MUCH nicer flannel. If you've never owned an older gown you wouldn't know all this... but I think you might feel the price is a bit much for what you now get. I go to LLBean for what i expect is consistent quality, but now I'm starting to wonder if they are downgrading their product yet still keeping the price tag of quality? Make me happy and offer the old style again please!!

I love this gown so much that I could live in it. It is roomy and comfortable, and the structure and material are high quality. The reliable high quality of your product will make me a forever client.

I purchased this flannel gown thinking it would be similar to the old-fashioned style nightgowns Bean used to sell. I have two of those and although generously sized, they shrank quite a bit and the quality of the garment and the fabric were excellent. NOT SO of this version I just received. Thick, fuzzy, cheap looking flannel. Poor quality construction -- thick seaming instead of fine pin-tucking. And it is absolutely shapeless and huge. So disappointed was I in this piece of junk I did not even bother to try it on. I wish I had heeded the many reviews warning about Bean's new flannel nightgown. It is even worse that everyone says. I will be returning this nightgown to LL Bean and will never purchase a nightgown from them again. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY DO NOT BUY THIS!
