The nightgown is disappointing--well-made but ill-fitting.

this is not the cotton flannel of the past. It has a weird feel. The gown has been washed so i am stuck with it but now i can't trust Lanz's fabrics. Its a shame.

I have owned 3 of these nightgowns. 2 in the black watch pattern. Both of them torn in the elbow and lower sleeve area. I loved the material, size and warmth. I'm afraid to order another one for fear of the same issue. Because it was a gift and had no receipt, I could not exchange it.

Do not like the flannel. Itchy and after many washings it feels like felt. I purchased 2 based on the old flannel used by LL Bean. This flannel is inferior.

The awkward, clunky pockets add a good 2" to each hip-- that would be 4" total. If that's OK with you, order away. As for me, no thank you. RETURNING.

I bought the old style with the collar for years and years. It had an attractive fit and lovely soft fabric. This year's style has no shape, just hangs and the fabric was not as soft in the past.

I have always loved the quality of LLBean's flannel nightgowns. In fall 2021, I bought another flannel nightgown and very disappointed. It is much thinner and after washing it a few times, the flannel is balling and reminds of cheaper flannel that I've experienced with cheaper clothing elsewhere. This makes me sad because I felt I could always depend on LLBean to sell quality clothing and didn't mind spending the extra money.

I have to compare it to the gold standard L L Bean "Vintage Flannel Nightgown" that I've worn for years. Scotch Plaid PLUS: has pockets. MINUSES: Much cheaper flannel- after 3 washings, the fabric looks older than my 4-year-old Vintage, is still filling the dryer lint trap, shedding, and has started to pill. Had to go up a size- the pleats are pretty enough, but not as nice as Vintage that had about 3 times as many, giving the nighty a very feminine feel, modesty, and room to move around. Overall a big disappointment.

I love the pattern, the tucks, and pockets but what happen to the petite sizing?? It is at least 2" too long for me and very, very full. I am about 5'1" and a little chubby but the PM must be made for someone 5'5" and very, very round.

I was disappointed as the size was a medium but way bigger than the mediums I ordered before from lobean so they are huge on me. I would have ordered a small had I known. And the quality I feel has gone down.

Very large for petite medium. I did use size guide.
Quality material.
Buttonhole very small. Hard to unbutton which was necessary to get head through the openingto

This is not the same flannel nightgown I have purchased for years. The fabric is not as soft and it is itchy. I gave it a good chance with washings (never had to do that before. I want to return; and I probably will. Also, I miss the collar but like the pockets. But still very disappointed.

Poor quality flannel, started pulling almost immediately. These were too expensive to be performing this poorly. Very, very disappointing.

Very disappointing, makes a mess all over the place. I washed this and wore it for a couple of hours but it sheds so much I had to wash it 3 more times in a row. Still don't want to wear it as it is still shedding. I even used a roller sticky to remove fuzz but still shedding.

This nightie is very warm and soft and has pockets. It has a mandarin collar and mine is so high by my neck when standing like a crew neck that I hate. When I lay down the unbutton part is on my cheeks near my lips. Why so high? I'm 5'5 and a half tall. I have several other mandarin collars from past years like the white and embroidered, and the vintage one in several colors and I don't have this problem with them. I'm seriously thinking of sending it back it bothers me so much. I'm sure it will get snapped up by someone else.

Pros- soft , fits well and looks good.
Con- I followed the instructions and washed it. There is lint every where. In the washer, dryer and all over. It is not worth the price tag. Will not be buying this item in the future,

Against my better judgment I ordered another one of these nightgowns in a petite small, rather than the regular medium that I have preferred in years past. I wanted to give it a chance because having the pockets for my phone sounded like a good idea. Sadly, they're just too floppy and the weight of the phone makes the gown hang awkwardly.
The petite small comes to mid calf on me. I prefer the gown to be longer, but on a regular medium the pockets were almost near my knees and too low for my hands.
I absolutely loved the previous style gown with the collar. The update is NOT an improvement.

I ordered two nightgowns, the Scotch plaid and the one in red. I tried one on and it was like putting on a tent. The shoulders didn't fit, it was too long and too wide. I ordered small, petite and checked the label to see if they had sent an extra large. Very poorly designed and made nightgown. I wonder if LL Bean is using inferior sub-contractors. Years ago they would never have sold something like this

The flannel used to make this night gown is extremely linty. I pre-washed a new one with some other clothes and everything came out covered with lint. I put the night gown in the dryer by itself and it completely filled the filter with lint. I shook out the night gown and little balls of lint went flying. I have ordered this night gown for decades, but will think twice before I order another one.

I have purchased many LL Bean flannel gowns over the years and was delighted with their comfort, length, and quality. However this product has a thinner fabric that is scratchy with uncomfortable seams. I hope future gowns will be like your previous super high quality and comfortable ones. I'll be glad to purchase more like that.

I've worn LL Bean nightgowns for years, keeping them until the material was so thin they would rip. I don't care for the new patterns, but I needed a new one. I bought the Black Watch pattern. This year's nightgown is basically the same fit and design as those of prior years -- except it adds pockets, which is great. But the fabric attracts dog hair like crazy! I've washed the gown a half dozen times now, but it is covered in hair the moment i put it on. I will have to pull out the sewing kit and repair the old tried & true gown that is showing its age.

LL Bean...STOP cheapening your fabric. Over the past 35 years, I have purchased more than 1 flannel nightgown each year-many, many for gifts. I think this one is the 3rd different style. Style is fine, however the current flannel is CHEAP! I launder only like fabrics together, turn everything wrong side out and only dry with as much heat as necessary. The current nightgown as pilled as though it were a synthetic fiber. I am currently still using pieces fro the vintage pin tuck and earlier scotch plaid flannel line. Most of those have been laundered dozens of times and although they are showing signs of normal wear-they look far better and are more substantial than the current fabric. It isn't just this item, it is happening across all product groups, fabric get cheesier and cheesier. This is not good PR!

Ive had this same LL Bean style nightgown for 15 years, mine finally wore out. Found it again and ordered only for it to come with much thinner (cheaper?) flannel. And the fit was enormous. Even after washing and drying it in a hot dryer. Don't know why it's so completely different but it is. Nothing (meaning quality in this instance) lasts forever I guess.

Loved this nightgown for lounging on cold days. However, it was probably 8 inches too long - a petite person can be 5'4" and I'm 5'0". So, at 8 inches, it would be 4 inches too long for the tallest "petite". I returned it vs. paying to have it hemmed.
