My husband laid the nightgown out over our recliner to give me a laugh, as its the same width as the recliner in XS petite. I guess it's so you don't get tangled in bed which makes sense, but seems excessive!

Flannel material on this product pills-up after being washed. Very disappointed.

This is possibly the softest and warmest flannel nightgown I've ever bought. That being said, it sheds like crazy. I find little pills of flannel all over my floors, as well as a coating of fine fabric dust from the nightgown all over my bedroom furniture. The flannel is from Portugal, the same origin for the men's flannel pajamas which also shed. I wouldn't recommend either unless you don't mind vacuuming every day.

I bought this for my daughter, she was disappointed in the very thin flannel material. I decided to keep it since returning is a pain. It is OK. However, I expect more quality from LLBean

These are not the same quality or style as the old ones. They new style is ok but the material is awful. The first two I purchased lasted many years. This new one only lasted one year before the elbow wore through. The flannel is so cheap and thin you can see through it. It's not the same material. Too much money for something that didn't last.

Every few years or so I treat myself to a new LL Bean flannel nightgown, and Iv'e been doing this for going on...seems like two decades now. I just bought a new one and was shocked. Instead of that thick, soft, sturdy flannel, it's cheap thin stuff that feels almost like twill. It's also cut smaller -- tight in the arms and back -- than one I bought last year. I can't imagine this thing lasting in the dryer for long, and I guess that's the point, eh, L.L. Bean? Anything to make a few more bucks. Such a shame. It sounds silly, but I feel absurdly betrayed, because I thought I could take the quality of this particular product for granted. Just felt I should share this in case other shoppers, like me, are used to purchasing the same nightgowns. This isn't it.

Quality seems to have decreased. Piling only after 3 washings.

For many years I purchased the Dobby Flannel Nightgown. It was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, just right, until L.L.Bean decided to discontinue it. Before purchasing this nightgown I spoke with customer service who assured me that it was the same as the Dobby, just a different fabric which turned out to be untrue. This is the usual thick flannel sold everywhere and the cut is much smaller than the Dobby. I purchased three of the new nightgowns, but donated them to a charity and I've actually purchased used Dobby nightgowns from Ebay, paying a lot more for them than when they were new. Please bring back the Dobby nightgowns.

I'm 5'3", 140#, 36D and ordered the medium regular. It is GIGANTIC - like a potato sack. I'm trying to decide if I should order the small petite or XS regular. Too bad this is not sold in the local Park Meadows store to try on. It is a waste of time and money on the shipping.

I have purchased this item several times...this year was a HUGE disappointment. The fabric is less than half the weight of prior years...thin, kinda' flimsy.

Unfortunately this was a real disappointment. It's beautiful and the pockets are a nice addition but it's too scratchy. I bought it for my 78 year old mother and as much as we want to love it, its just not quality, soft material.

Not quite as charming as the nightgowns before LLBean went all plaid.

I buy my mother a flannel nightgown from LLBean every 2 or 3 years. This one didn't even last a year! The flannel is not anything like it used to be. This wore through to a hole/rip within 6 months and there are places where you can see through the fabric. I'm now looking on consignment sites to find her one of the old ones which are so lovely.

I bought this nightgown last year in a 2X. The upper arms were tight. I just bought another one in a 3X, and the upper arms in this one were tight too. If this shrinks when it is washed ( and flannel always does) this nightgown will be very uncomfortable to sleep in. LL Bean, you need to get REAL plus size models and bodies on which to base your measurements. This is the last nightgown I will be buying from LL Bean.

It's a shame you can't cross-check your order returns before you send requests. I ordered and returned this months ago; I'm sure it didn't fit and was the usual excellent LLBean Scotch plaid flannel.

There is no comparison to the nightgown from years ago. The quality and workmanship are gone. From the picture of old/new you can see 28 pleats that formed a lovely flounce going down the nightgown. The back had the same concept. The gown today has 6 pleats, cheaper quality material, nothing that gives it charm and it is just plain boxy. As you can see, I've gotten years out the first gown and seriously rethinking my purchase. I've purchased from LLBean for years but sad to think I'm changing my mind.

I have loved these flannel nightgowns - The colors in this one are beautiful. The material is still cotton - but not like the flannel of the original nightgowns. I washed this immediately after receiving it - not anticipating the material had changed. I regret that now - I would have returned it. Sadly I will not be purchasing any more of my beloved flannel nightgowns.

Disappointed in the quality of this nightgown. Sleeves are too long, The sewing on the plackets is poor. Washed according to directions - I don't feel I should need to iron a nightgown. I paid full price and sometimes you need to, but in this case I am disappointed. I am wondering if I received the same product as the others who have left good reviews. Will probably return this nightgown.

Much thinner than I thought it would be. Not worth the price. Not as good as expected from Bean.

The fabric was soft and cuddly but the design was very grandmotherly and extremely elderly. It was well put together but it did not fit a younger modern female shape. The garment was very wide. It would have made a great blanket or throw.

It's VERY long! I am disappointed I have to pay postage if I return the nightgown (unless I have an LL Bean credit card, which I have no need for.) I bought it because of durability but can only keep it if I have it hemmed. The cotton used is guaranteed not to shrink; disappointing!

I ordered an xl .. fit is good. The problem is, I'm 5 foot 5 inches tall and this gown is WAAAY too long. I am going to have to have 8 inches cut off and then have
it re-hemmed!! The material really shouldn't be called flannel, it's very thin. I am very disappointed with this product and the price I paid. Definitely not worth it.
