I prefer the fabric and style of the ones I got a couple of years ago. It is OK but I would not buy it again.

The last flannel gown I bought fit perfect and I liked the collar. This version was too big and quality was not as good.

The nightgown is pretty and the fabric is soft but very thin. It won't be as warm as I would have liked. I usually buy clothes in medium petite. This is a misses small and fits fine. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more attention paid to match the plaid stripes at the side seams and front placket. I know it uses more fabric to make clothing that way but looks so much nicer. I haven't had a nightgown in many years. This will be good for lounging. It just could have been made better.

Nightgown fits like a tent! It is huge. The pockets are unnecessary. They make your hips look wide. The cotton is good quality but design should be more streamlined.

I initially bought a Petite Medium as I'm a size 12. It was huge. I returned for a Petite Small. The Petite Small is okay, but could have more room in the bust area....perhaps the problem is that this is a size small and that's not my normal size. I did notice that the LL Bean nightgown I bought a few years ago, had a longer yolk in back with gathering, rather than tucks. It was more comfortable than this one. Unfortunately, they didn't have this nightgown in my local store, so I could try it on and decide on size.

I have buying this style every winter for years but this year the material is different. It is too warm and not as comfortable against the body as the previous version. However, I do like the pockets. I wear it to lounge around but not to sleep in. I'm sure others will like but since I'm comparing to style I love, the change is not for me.

It is too big, but I like the cloth and good quality. Just too big like bathrobe.

I still have a nightshirt from LLBean made in US. This one of course is not. Buttonholes had to be stretched beyond recognition to open enough to get on. The old one is still perfect. I am not opposed to your suppliers but YOU still own quality control.

I own 4 of these nightgowns with collars that I love. They are very warm and comfortable on cold nights. However, the new one that I purchased a couple of weeks ago does not have a collar. I miss this this feature because my neck gets cold. Please ditch the pockets and return the collars.

I bought a nightgown like this 3 years ago. I love it and wanted another one. This one is made of thinner fabric and collects lint like crazy. Definitely poorer quality.

I have two scotch plaid gowns from previous years, which I love. I was very excited to see the new style with pockets. I had to return my first order for a smaller size-the gown is huge, at least in width. Anyway, after washing it, I was not impressed. The gown is still too large, but I worry that going down another size would make the shoulders too small. The flannel material is pilling and fills up my dryer lint trap each time I wash it. It looks older than my old ones. It also seems to shrink in length with each washing-it started out at my ankles and is now mid-calf. I do like the pockets though, but as the length has shortened, they are now almost at my waist. I suggest that you return to the flannel that was used in the past and add back the piping around the neck and sleeves to give it a more polished look, but keep the pockets-I love pockets.

If I were rating this nightgown as a lighter weight flannel it would get 5 stars. It's soft, comfortable and has pockets. But I was expecting the traditional llbean flannel and give it 3 stars at best. I've had this nightgown for a couple of months and it was perfect until the weather turned seriously cold. Would love a traditional weight nightgown with pockets.

I honestly bought this because I was so intrigued and entertained by the polarized reviews: it seemed like anyone who was new to this product was perfectly happy with it, but longtime customers vocally hated the new pockets. I couldn't believe a nightgown could have so many passionate and ardent fans. I had to see for myself.
I had fully expected to be on Team Pockets, but the haters are right. The huge on-seam pockets are bulky and bunch up inside the nightgown. They have to be managed and smoothed out while I'm busy tossing and turning at night. Patch pockets that don't take up space inside the nightgown would have been a more ergonomic choice.
Also, the manufacturing was not what I was expecting. The stitching around the buttonholes is messy and exposes white fabric inside, and the buttonholes themselves are kind of small and hard to button and unbutton, which I have to do whenever I take it on and off, because the neck hole is pretty small. I have a scotch plaid shirt that I really love, and I expected the sleepwear to be the same, but the stitching on this nightgown is less precise. I'm not saying I could have done better myself, and I guess I do want to look more put together in the office than in bed, but it turns out I agree with the other critical reviewers that the sewing on this garment is of lower quality than I would have expected.
I was expecting this to be ankle-length on my 5'4" frame, but there's at least a foot between the hem and the floor, and it's drafty and not that warm if I don't wear leggings with it.
It's a very roomy garment: unflattering enough that I fully expect to stay single as long as I own it, but it's still not roomy enough for my tiny dog to curl up to sleep between knees while I'm wearing it; I have to hike it up to my waist so the dog is not balanced precariously on a hammock of fabric. I apparently should have bought the pajamas, because wearing a calf-length nightgown that requires sleep pants means I am swishing around in a lot of extra fabric that gets in my way.

I have ordered nightgowns in the past from you but this one seemed lighter and not as warm as what I received in the past. I was disappointed in the quality.I probably won't order it again.

The fabric is out of this world soft, but even the smallest size was like wearing a sack. My husband couldn't deal with the mumu like nature of this gown and in the end, I sadly returned it.The pockets are great. It could still be comfy and have a little shape. Come on, Bean, you can revisit this style. I am 5'4" and 115 lbs and there were about 12 inches of extra fabric on either side of me. It felt like wearing a blanket, which is pure comfort, but in the mirror, even I wrinkled my nose. If the style had been even a little more flattering, I'd have given it a million stars.

After many years of purchasing your collared flannel nightgown, I was so disappointed to discover you no longer carry it. I reluctantly ordered the scotch plaid flannel nightgown, hoping it could substitute. I was wrong. The flannel on this year's nightgown seems to be thinner than last year's collared one. In addition, the nightgown had pockets which I did not like. They add bulk and are totally useless. It is too cold to wear this nightgown without a bathrobe and the bathrobe's pockets can be used, if needed. Please bring back the previous style.

What happened to the lighter flannel (but still warm and cozy) in solid color which had the embroidered trees or snow flakes on the yoke. Those were my favorite.

I have been a loyal fan and customer of LL Bean's Classic Tartan Flannel Nightgown with the front and back yoke and collar for at least 20 years! Why change perfection? Thinking this was my usual favorite, I ordered a new gown recently and when it arrived, I immediately noticed the design change, and the shortcuts in construction of this year's garment. The tucks in front and back do not reduce the width of the fabric in the shoulders as well as the yoke and soft gathers do in the original style nightgown. This new manufacturer has simplified construction details. The contrasting cording around the yoke, cuff bands, and collar of the original design has been eliminated in this new gown. Bottom line, this design is just easier for the seamstress to construct. This fabric is warm, the pockets are a nice addition, but please consider returning to the original design for the nightgown next year!

I bought the gown two years ago. It has been too tight in the arms. I have enjoyed it other than the tightness in arms which it very uncomfortable. I bought the size that is fine in other nice brands.

I recently purchased this gown. To say that it is cut generously is an understatement. Voluminous is more like it. Based on other reviews I bought a small. I'm 5'3" and 128 lbs. I washed and dried the gown before wearing and still this enormous "tent" would allow for a 300 lb weight gain. The pictures, in retrospect, are fairly accurate except the stiffness of the material doesn't mimic the drape in the pictures. More like, we'll..a tent!

I've bought these nightgowns for years, and this year the material is not the same. The material now is very light weight - not the soft, warm, mid- to heavier flannel of previous years. And if course the price is the same. Won't be purchasing again. Very disappointed.

I have been buying Bean's nightgowns for years. The flannel has always been thick and strong. I am so disappointed that the flannel now used is thinner. I washed once, dried on low. So much came off in the lint trap. Quality has gone down.
I always took a medium petite. Shrinkage has put me into a large petite. (Yes, all my previous medium petites still fit fine). I know of nowhere else I can buy decent nightgowns,
so I will exchange them both(I bought two) for the larger size and save for warm weather.

This is the third Bean flannel nightgown I have purchased in the past 20 years. I am sad that the quality of this one is not the same as the previous ones. This flannel seems thin and almost see-through. In addition, the pockets are unnecessary and do not lay flat. No matter how often I smooth them out, they bunch up. I do not remember pockets in previous nightgowns. I've been a Bean customer for more years than I care to say, and this is the first time I've been unhappy with a purchase.
