I wear this gown as evening lounge wear. It's soft and comfortable, here's the but, I wish it was thicker i.e. warmer, and longer by about 2-3 inches. Otherwise it's attractive, soft and cozy.

I've learned to buy garments in medium size at LL Bean though large generally fits me in other brands. The medium fits nicely and I like the color. The fabric is medium weight which is fine for Seattle winters. I searched for flannel nightgowns and found the best value at LL Bean and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality.

I love this nightgown. I ordered a size larger than normal to get plenty of room to move around at night. One small problem - it is hard to button and unbutton. I would suggest snaps which would be easier - at least of the top button which is the only one I need to undo to take it off. But overall, I love it. Cozy, warm and comfortable. I like the fact that it comes up close to the neck.

I love this nightgown - the fabric, the color, front buttons that close the opening up to the neckline for warmth. But I find the pockets useless, adding unnecessary bulk. I sewed up the pocket openings, cut off the pocket material and now it is perfect.

This nightgown is lovely - soft and comfortable, and generously cut. The only thing is that I really liked it better with a round collar, and now it has no collar.

I love everything about this nightgown except for the pockets. I never use them and if they bunch up while laying on your side, it feels uncomfortable. I may cut them out and sew up the sides.

I love the design and red plaid color, but am mildly disappointed that the flannel is a little lighter than I hoped and that it seems to pill easily in the wash onto other items.

I love the design and warmth of the nightgown, but I think less fabric would work better for me. I am 4"11 and 90 lbs, and the gown feels like a tent!

I've been wanting to get this for years but felt insecure about the sizing. I am a size 10-12 and based on other reviews I ordered a medium. As soon as I put it on I felt like I could have bought a small but then I realized those shoulders fit exactly like a 10 12. however the roomy area that is mentioned around the hips is probably a size 22. No exaggeration. It is definitely a large nightgown. My only real complaint is that after I washed it it shrank up about 3 in and now comes up a few inches above my ankles. So now I will have to wear socks. Before I washed it there was no draft that hit my ankles and I can wear regular slippers. Overall I would recommend it and I will order another one when this one wears out.

I enjoy the comfort of this nightgown, the fabric is nice and soft and warm. I do not like the pockets. Every night when I put this nightgown on I wonder to myself what person decided women need pockets in their nightgowns. Does someone expect a women to sleep with their keys and wallet in their pockets? I find the brushing of the pockets against my outer thighs to be irritating. This is the only complaint I have about this nightgown.

The reviews indicate people feel very strongly about the changes made to this gown. While I did prefer the former incarnation with collar, this new style is very soft with lovely color choices. Purchased the new MacTavish, a fun red and blue plaid, and my yearly favorite Stewart Victoria. The gowns fit well, were a generous fit and were super comfortable. I agree with others who feel the pockets were superfluous plus they did add a bulky feel. So all in all a nice winter gown, but have my fingers crossed Bean returns to their original design next year. They already have the Vintage Flannel for when you don't want a collar and want the pintucked front.

If you were a fan of the original Vintage Nightgown (which had a nice soft nap to the flannel) offered years ago, and only in a cream and red or cream and indigo version, then you will like this new design of the tartan nightgown. I purchased in the MacTavish Plaid, and when I opened my package, I was deeply delighted because the colors were so beautiful, rich and vibrant. I was a little worried about the red if it looked like the picture on my screen, but no worries, it actually look even better in person, and a very pretty festive red that I'll be honored to wear all winter to chase away the cold dreary days ahead. This new version of the tartan gown is warm and soft...after all, it is Portuguese flannel!

Like some of the other reviewers, I also have purchased LL Bean's tartan flannel gowns for many years. I ordered this new style with apprehension. I was slightly disappointed with the density of the flannel, but it adequate for my needs, and I prefer the smaller plaid of the old style.
I was delighted to discover the new style has pockets and was very pleased to see that there was virtually no shrinkage after laundering. I immediately ordered a second gown and am very satisfied with my purchase. No 5th star until I see how they hold up over time.

I have purchased and worn LLBean flannel nightgowns for over forty years! However, when I placed the order I didn't see they had changed the style and taken away the collar! I prefer the colllar to keep my neck warm at night. Please bring back the old style with some new flannel colors.

The flannel quality was disappointing. It is slightly thinner than the fabric from a few years ago. Is the supplier ripping off LL Bean?

I ordered a petite small, but it was way too big. I've bought nightgowns from you before, and
this has never been a problem. Also the quality doesn't compare to the two nightgowns that
I've purchased in the past. I'm disappointed, and will be returning it to be replaced by an XS.

I received my order today and was pleased with the sizing. I bought a size up because flannel always shrinks. I am very disappointed in the fabric weight. It seems more like a lightweight brushed twill than a winter weight flannel. Will be good for spring and fall but winter-not so much.

The fabric was thinner than another LL Bean flannel gown I received as a gift a few years ago and the quality wasn't as good (i.e. no piping on sleeves or top, etc). I kept it but I don't think I'll order another one.

Great fit, great design - it even has pockets! But the fabric pills and sheds like crazy. Wash it first.

I had high hopes for this, but ended up returning it. The size medium was huge - I mean like tent-maker big. The material was not soft and was actually a little itchy. I gave it three stars because it was, if nothing else, warm.

It seems that nightgowns I've bought a few years ago were a heavier flannel

Night gown is very nice. I am very surprised at how thin the material is. I expected a winter weight to a winter piece of clothing but am sadly disappointed.

I like these nightgowns, but the tan and white was not a flattering color choice for me, otherwise the nightgowns are very pretty, I have two,
