This flannel nightgown is a generous fit and is very comfortable and extra warm. Do not put in dryer or it will shrink. Air drying is quick and it keeps its softness after washing. I love it and bought 2 of them for the winter.

Love this nightgown! The fabric is soft and a good weight, and it even has deep pockets! It washes well and I was so happy with the first one that I purchased a second.

I love the soft flannel used in this gown, and immediately asked my sister to give me another for Christmas. The high neck keeps the chill off my neck. Yummy and warm.

This gown fits and feels like a dream. I'm a size XL to 1X and am 5'3" and in the size 1X it falls all the way to the floor so as to keep me sooooo warm on these freezing cold Alaska winter nights. The weight is a medium/heavy flannel that is very nice and soft to the touch with plenty of room to snuggle up on the couch or chair comfortably. I received my order in a timely fashion and look forward to enjoying this gown and the next one I'm ordering in another color, for years to come. Thanks for such a great product!

Soft, warm and beautifully designed.

This is my favorite nightgown I have ever owned. The flannel is so nice and thick. It washes like a dream. Didn't shrink in the dryer. It's perfect!

Great nightgown - it's soft and a perfect weight, not too heavy. It fits well and comes out of the dryer looking good. I highly recommend it.

I love a feeling of a good quality flannel and this has it. The material is super soft inside and out and of nice weight. I wanted a soft, warm and roomy gown that I could sit in and pull my feet up and the gown down over my legs so that I could ball up and be cozy warm and this is it! This gown is very roomy, but hangs nicely and I love the pockets!! I find them to be just right. I never had the previous version so I can not speak to the collar/no-collar, but this is a very nice nightgown. I'm 5'6" and it falls just above my ankles. Purchased Nov. 2017

I hesitated purchasing this nightgown after reading some of the reviews, but decided to because LLBean has the best customer service. I ordered an XS. I am 5' 5' and 118 lbs. Is it roomy? Of course it is, but it's a nightgown! I absolutely love it. The flannel is thick and soft. I don't think I would have liked a collar anyway because I don't like feeling choked. I ordered two more as gifts. I'll have this gown for years. Thank you LLBean!!

I'm very pleased with the design of the new soft flannel night gown in Scotch plaid. The gown has pin tucks in front and back, and fewer than on the Vintage gown, so the plaid gown is lighter weight. AND Thank you, LL Bean, for the addition of side seam pockets. It's so great to have a gown with pockets (they're easily removed if you don't like them). The sleeves are comfortably long. The garment is true to size and any shrinkage after machine wash & dry was not noticeable. I don't like that the plaid isn't centered in the front, but this is not so obvious on the Blackwatch plaid as it is on the Victoria. Two minor draw backs that can be improved: the pintucks didn't lie flat, but can be stitched down, and the glaring, stark white buttons are easily replaced. An antique bone colored button improved the look of the Blackwatch plaid gown.

I like both the old and the new style, but I have a slight preference for the newer style. I don't miss the collar and I love the pockets! Also, my impression is that the flannel of the newer style is thicker and softer than the older style. It's wonderful for our Wisconsin winters.

So happy with flannel nightgown. I have been looking for a nightgown that is warm without a collar which makes me hot or sweat at night so this is perfect. I also love the color and the pockets

I absolutely love these nightgowns! They are soft and cozy even after laundering. I use them as a robe and love having the pockets. I live in the great white north (Canada) so having these cozy warm gowns is like having your favourite comfort food. Thank you LLBean for making such a beautiful flannel gown!

I have three of these flannel nightgowns. I love them because it is a dream to live in soft, warm flannel that wears and washes as it should. I love these nightgowns because they have no collar, still I am warm. I love these nightgowns because they can be bought without hassle or strain from LL Bean - I enjoy doing business with a well-run company who intends to be of service to me, and always is. AND, I love these nightgowns BECAUSE THEY HAVE POCKETS. Pockets are one of life's little necessities. When I have them I am not bothered by the small things I carry in them. When I don't have them, the small things I need to have with me become a big nuisance. Life is meant to be simple. Thank you for the pockets.

Originally I rated this 4 stars, but since the temperatures have dropped I've been wearing it more often and want to give it the full 5 starts. The quality of the flannel on this gown is outstanding much better than the former model with collar. I do still miss the collar and would love to see this gown back next year, but with the collar. What's so great about this one is the gown feels lightweight however is very warm. You really feel wrapped in coziness. Bought additional colors for myself plus another for my Mom. Makes a great gift.

I was reading the reviews and all the complaints about the fabric and the design. Then I looked at the picture and realized it was essentially identical -- but longer -- than the other flannel gowns I have from LL Bean. Despite the whining about loss of the collar -- explain to me why anyone needs a collar on a nightgown -- and the apparent shock at having pockets, which while not necessary, are useful. In all these years of buying clothing from Bean, never have I gotten cheesy fabric. I ignored the review and got it yesterday. What a delight! It's long. Ankle length which I wanted. Soft, cozy, and absolutely flattering. I don't know about anyone else, but on a really cold day, I've been known to wear these gowns all day if I'm not going out ... and the pockets are downright useful when I'm wearing it in the house. Don't believe the complainers. It's gorgeous and I wish I could afford another one! Or, for that matter, TWO more.

I love this nightshirt so much, I ordered one, loved it, then added a second & then a third, all at full price. Yesterday I saw 25% off and ordered the other two I had not ordered. You have to wash 1-3 times to remove all lint, but I have found same issue with most clothes, especially dark colors. I wish I could buy the socks I bought 10 years ago from another store, but they do not make them now. Try one & you will love it! I must return pajamas I ordered & other flannel nightshirt. Neither fit me.

I was not sure what to think when I saw mixed reviews. But I love my gown; it's cozy, roomy and soft. Doesn't shrink either. I admit I was used to the former design. Maybe a better idea is to offer both as choices.

I have both the old design nightgown with a collar and this year's new design without a collar. Both are the warmest and most comfortable flannel nightgowns I have ever owned. The flannel material does not feel very thick or heavy, but it really keeps you warm. I live in a place where winter temperatures can dip as low as 15 below zero and these nightgowns are perfect for cold weather. I happen to like like this year's design without a collar. The collar-less one allows me to keep it buttoned all the way up, whereas I always have to leave the top button unbuttoned on the collared one. Both the old and new styles are very roomy and you may need to order one size smaller. If you want a warm and comfortable flannel nightgown, it's hard to go wrong with this one.

Perfect in every way. Enjoy the weight of the flannel, the length is longer than the vintage nightgown for greater leg warmth and love having the pockets! Thank you for providing me with the nightgown of my dreams.

I love this nightgown. The material is buttery soft...and the perfect winter weight. Not too heavy ...nor too thin. The pockets are wonderful as I almost always have a tissue to put there. I am a size 14 and purchased the medium. It is roomy and the sleeves are long enough on my 5'10"frame. It actually reaches my ankle! I love that it doesn't have a collar and yet it can button all the way up to your throat for chilly nights. I bought two, black plaid and red plaid...the bright one. I love them both. They did not shrink in washer and dryer. They are PERFECT!

Having been an LLbean flannel nightgown wearer for over 25 years, I am happy to report this one is a great improvement over their last few years offerings. The thickness and brushed flannel is back, the gown had gotten thinner and coarser. The pockets are a fabulous addition. I find the fit to be very roomy. It is worth every penny.

Item: Misses' Purchased: Within 1 month ***Caution: I am 5'4" and weigh 145 lbs. From previous experience (other similar style LL Bean nightgowns), I ordered a size small which is PLENTY roomy. Two of me would have fit in the size medium! It does not shrink after washing (cold water). So, I tried on my new Scotch Plaid Flannel nightgown for the first time last night. I did wash and dry before wearing. It is soooo soft and comfortable. It is warm without being too warm. I bought the "black watch plaid". It is a pretty color and I love the new style. It is very feminine. My husband even remarked how pretty it looked. I should add that after first washing/drying I did have a large amount of lint in the lint filter which I thought was unusual. I had ordered 2 nightgowns (2nd one a Vintage style.) and washed both.

The new design is better. The pleats, deep pockets, longer length, and collar all enhance the overall pleasure, wearing this wonderfully soft gown. Reminds me of gowns my Grandmother made for us girls for Christmas. It has also washed very well, maintaining its softness and shape. Thankyou LLB.
