I wanted this sweater last year in off-white, but it was sold out. When I saw it offered again this year, I didn't hesitate. Like other reviews, there is a 'heathered grey' look to it - but it's neutral and not obvious. The fit...I'm usually between an xs and s (5'1", 115 lbs.). I ordered the xs (regular, not petite) because I wanted to show the pattern on the sleeves, and not have to fold at the cuff. Fits PERFECT! I live in Chicago, and this sweater will definitely get worn this winter.

I wanted this sweater last year but it was sold out by the time sale came around. Kept checking back until it was in stock again and then was super happy I was able to get it on sale AND use my Bean Bucks

Last year this sweater sold out and I was so disappointed. Well, it's back and I ordered it two months earlier than I need it so I won't miss out this year. I am so happy I did. I love the fit (TTS) and the material and colors were just as I expected.

This sweater quickly has become a favorite for me. Its fit, look, and feel are perfect for me. I especially like the Petite small sizing, as the sleeves are the right length without having to be rolled up, which is what I typically have to do with other sweaters. Several people have asked me if it was hand-knit, which I see as being a tribute to how beautiful it is!

I purchased the grey fair isle color and love it! It's a perfect fit, the neck is perfect and I love the classic look of this sweater!!

This is a beautiful, very light grey, heavy knit,wool, traditional sweater. It is very warm and it is beautiful. It is true to size. The price is great too. If you bought a similar sweater elsewhere, it would be twice the price. I am hoping that next year LL Bean will make this sweater with this collar style in a button-up cardigan with no pockets.

Just received the sweater this week and it's terrific. I love the classic styling and old L.L.Bean quality! The fit is roomy - I'd order down a size if you prefer a more tailored look. Thank you L.L.Bean!

This sweater arrived today and I am so pleased with it! I am tall (5'10")and about a size 8-10. I would generally order a medium, but after reading others' reviews I decided to try a small so that the sweater wouldn't be boxy on me. It is just perfect, not tight, but not boxy either. The fair isle detail around the neck is very attractive and reminds me of an old-fashioned skating sweater. The wool feels like a terrific weight for fall/winter. Very cute--I'll get a lot of use out of this one! Thanks LLBean!

I really like this sweater. Kudos to LL Bean for offering a traditional winter sweater. It is thick and dense and will be very warm. As another reviewer noted, the colour is greyish rather than a pure cream. I don't mind the colour at all. I got a small. I am now debating whether or not to keep it only because it is rather large for me and extra small is out of stock. I would expect to wear it for many years. If in doubt about sizing, size down or order two to make sure you get the right size.

I purchased the sweater at an L.L. Bean store so I can't comment on any funny smell. Mine did not have one. This is a beautifully made sweater and a lovely color way. I absolutely adore it. We had a cold snap today and I was finally able to wear it which made me so happy. It looks like L.L. Bean is going back to its roots please keep making more sweaters like this! I think this sweater runs a little large. I would go one size down if I was ordering it online.

This sweater is perfection! No weird smell as commented on by other reviewers. I will note that the bag it was shipped in had an odd smell, but my sweater did not have any smell. Fits true to size, I ordered an XS. Looks great and was very comfortable and warm. A very quality sweater, I look forward to wearing it for years to come.

I got this sweater in the blue and it's perfect! It's super thick and warm which will be perfect come winter. The details and colors are beautiful and very LL Bean. I am 5'6 and 120lbs and ordered a small. The small is a little large on me but I like the way it looks so I'm keeping it. If you want a tighter fit I would probably size down.

I love the sweater design and fit but if you are sensitive to wool it is itchy.

Warm, well-made classic sweater; only "complaint" is neck is small-ish and not flattering except with perhaps a turtleneck or blouse, which is how I wear it. In right conditions, the sweater will replace a jacket. I am 5'6" and 130 lbs. I bought the medium; I could have gone with the small, but I was looking for a looser fit anyway so it suits.

It is a beautiful sweater, but I returned it because it made me look very wide in the shoulders.

Great warm sweater. Cute. Wool is a little rougher than I was hoping but perfectly wearable.

This sweater is my new go to sweater. I bought the charcoal and the colors are sophisticated.

I love this sweater. It is so hard to find affordable, well-made sweaters and this fits the bill! I got the blue, and love the color, etc. My only complaint is that I tried the small and the medium, and the small was much more flattering overall but too tight in the shoulders. The medium fits great in the shoulders, but is a little baggier and less flattering. Still, a great sweater overall.

This sweater is gorgeous and well made. I returned it because the wool is itchy. Too bad because otherwise I really like the sweater.

Warm and pretty. I also have the grey pattern that zips. Took off one star because the wool is not very soft and the shoulder yoke construction is a little iffy. Glad I got it on sale.

I bought an L, but am exchanging it for an XL. Love the sweater but prefer it to fit looser as it's a bit chunky. For a regular turtleneck I wear an L.

I like the sweater quite a lot. Quite warm, which is what I wanted. Looks nice. Pills a little, but not too bad. By the end of the day, it's become just a bit itchy thru a Bean turtleneck. Very comfortable in how it fits/hangs. I'm 5'7" and 165 lbs. wearing size large.

I got the blue/green and I love the colors! I am someone who is always cold and I still need a heavy sweater sometimes in March into April and these colors will perfect going into Spring. I have bought one of these heavy wool sweaters from Bean for the past few years and this one is a bit shorter in length than last years (I measured and it was .75 inches shorter). I don't love that and I knocked one star off for that. I always get petite because of sleeve length and I'd rather deal with it being a bit short than rolling the sleeves up at the cuff. But the shorter length from previous years is slightly annoying. I'm fairly sensitive and I don't have any issues with it being itchy when wearing a light weight tee under it. Overall it's a great addition to my growing collection!
