Love this sweater. I got the cream and the blue. Both are beautiful. Sweater is very warm and is a relaxed fit, can wear a shirt underneath. Since it is wool it is a tiny bit itchy so I wear a light layer under and it is fine. One of my new favorites.

I fell in love with the white (as it seems many did, because it was sold out), but got the navy b/c my size in white was sold out. I am not disappointed. White is one of those colors that makes me fear wine and coffee. But the navy is gorgeous. All LL Bean's wool is a bit scratchy, but that's wool for you, and this is fine to my touch. Warm, cozy, and loose enough that I can wear layers underneath. I would get the white if it came back into my size. I love LL bean sweaters and love adding a new item to my wardrobe every winter.

I am so happy with this sweater. It fits very well. Someone mentioned in another review that the wool was scratchy. I did not find that to be the case at all, It feels very soft to me. It really has the appearance of a hand-knit, heirloom garment. I love it and look forward to wearing it this winter.

I live in the Chicago area and own three of these sweaters in various colors. They are very comfortable and provide exceptional warmth.

An absolutely beautiful fair isle sweater - toasty warm, soft fabric, and just gorgeous. A closer fit than the lined version which I had originally thought I'd purchase but found too warm for indoor wear. Well worth the price.

This is a beautiful sweater with lovely detail. I am so happy to see some pure wool offerings for women. I ordered my usual size M, the fit is relaxed and I roll up the sleeve cuffs a little. I am happy that I can wear a flannel shirt underneath. I've worn this many times since purchase and it looks wonderful with only a few pills on the surface. The gauge is not as fine as the lambswool sweaters of a few years ago but I am very pleased with this warm sweater!

I love this sweater and have received many complements. I do like that it comes in a Petite as I have short arms and it fits perfectly. It is warm and cozy.

This is one dynamite sweater! It's warm, stylish, and just makes me happy! There's plenty of room for a shirt underneath...I wore a silk undershirt to look a bit less 'poofy'. You may want to go down a size if you like sweaters to be more fitted, but it is a matter of choice. I bought the navy, but may get the cream too! Can't go wrong with this beauty!

Wow, what a great sweater! I read every review about this sweater and did purchase the sweater in a size smaller than I usually would. It also helps to follow the LL Bean sizing measurements as well as the reviews. It is a perfect fit. I was a bit concerned in purchasing a wool sweater because I have gotten so used to cotton sweaters. It is not scratchy at all if you wear a turtleneck and I wear turtlenecks all the time.

I bought the cream-colored sweater and I really like it.

The cream color is just beautiful! Yes it does have a very soft gray heather/marl in the cream colored bodice, but that is precisely what makes this sweater so pretty! Fit is true to size, sleeves are nice and long, and room for light shirt, or nice pima cotton or cashmere turtleneck underneath. Looks and feels wonderful with a light gray cashmere turtleneck underneath. Warm, but not too thick. Size up one size if you want a relaxed, roomy fit. For a more tailored, less roomy fit order your regular size. The cream color has a lovely (sweet & classic) Icelandic fair isle pattern. A very pretty sweater!

It is hard to find a sweater that is 100% wool and then to have it be so warm and wearable makes it all that you hoped for. Love the colors, pattern, and old fashioned quality of this sweater. It reminds me of ones my Mom used to knit for me.

The sweater color is definitely gray. The quality is very nice and so is the design around the neck. Since it's wool it is a little on the scratchy side so it's a good idea to wear with a turtleneck or Oxford shirt. I really like it and can't wait until it's colder to wear it!

Love these they will be warm for my walks on the beach in the beautiful green northwest. I ordered the navy and the neutral the colors are excellent

I love vintage styling in certain clothing and I am in love with this sweater! The style is a classic Fair Isle,the wool is soft and substantial and toasty warm in colder climates. Is it "itchy", of course. It is wool and the natural fiber is "itchy" and to be expected. Buy cotton if it bothers you. There is ample room in the sizing for a collared shirt underneath. Layering is essential for extra warmth and eliminates the "itch" factor. Perfect with a flannel or other shirt underneath. I purchased the light grey and it has black and medium grey stitching on a light grey background. The finishing is beautiful and is a close runner up to handmade. A quality sweater for the money. I have spent much more for sweaters I did not like nearly as much. Great value!

I bought the cream Fair Isle XL sweater - I'm 5'10" usually wear a Large I bought the XL as I needed the little extra for the arm length. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. I've not gone wrong with any LL Bean sweaters.

very well made, soft, I love this sweater. I'm 5'2", 140, with rather short arms and the petite medium fits me perfectly. It's easy on and off with a nice large-ish neck hole (but not baggy/saggy, it's crew) so with a t-shirt underneath you can go about your day NO COAT on chilly winter days; take it off when you're warm and plop it into your tote, pull it on easily and head outside into the chill. Layers up or down easily depending on the weather. Goes with everything, comfortable, and well made; I love it! A recent compliment for my sweater in cream color with black accents: "sophisticated". I don't think it's scratchy wool but it is wool and for those sensitive to wearing wool it might not be a good option.

I ordered this in green to wear around the holidays. It will be a great winter sweater in Boston. I ordered a large - a bit big and boxy, but since I plan on wearing a turtleneck underneath it, it will be fine.

Great classic wool sweater with a nice fit. Layers well over a turtlenck and is comfortable and warm. At just over 5 feet and 150 pounds, a petite medium fit perfect with plenty of room for layering.

Classic sweater. I am 5'3" 146lbs and ordered the small after reading reviews. I usually order mediums for a bit of room. This sweater in the gray is gorgeous and fits with room for a base layer and is not boxy or form fitting. Wish they had one in the reverse colors, mostly black, b/c I would buy another!

This is a wonderful sweater. I am so glad L.L.Bean has brought back some of these traditional sweater styles. It is my go to sweater once the colder weather of fall sets in. I've just place an order for the Bean Green color. I hope I love it just as much as the cream colored one from last year.

I bought this sweater a few weeks ago and it is now just cold enough to wear it. I wore it with a turtle neck, to a cross country meet under my LL Bean gortex rain coat. Warm, comfortable, well made, for that damp, chilly mid-40's day. Perfect. Well fitting, I am a medium in all things LL Bean, I felt stylish, classic and very happy!
