I've wanted this sweater since last winter but was out of stock. I ordered early so I could get one. absolutely love it

I read the reviews and decided that a medium would be big enough even if I wear a lightweight tee underneath. It 's hard to find well made wool sweaters. Thankfully L.L. Bean still makes beautiful wool sweaters.

I needed a new really warm sweater and this one fit the bill perfectly. I have the wine/burgundy one and I love it!

Present from my DD. Sweater is warm and comfortable. No need for added jacket unless staying outside in weather. Pair with a long sleeve undershirt since is 100% wool. Style is slightly oversized but not too long. Great with leggings or slim pants. Color is rich and fair isle detail has different texture which adds to the beauty. Has worn well with no underarm or side pilling.

I have been regretting not picking up a wool sweater while traveling to Iceland since my trip two years ago, so when I saw this one, I instantly wanted it. I'm always worried how sweaters will fit because I have a large chest, but I bought the maroon one, and it fits me perfectly. The style and quality are both awesome, and I get at least one compliment every time I wear it.

Bought this sweater in the cream and L-O-V-E it! I've probably worn it at least once a week since it arrived. The size was perfect; I'm usually a 16-18 and the XL was just right (and the sleeves hit right at my wrists, usually I'm cuffing up sleeves that are too long.) It's warm but not too warm, comfy, cute, and not scratchy. It's kept it's shape nicely and hasn't pilled at all. Not to mention it's gotten many compliments. Dare I call it the perfect sweater? I hope the cream comes back again so I can get one to sock away for when this one wears out!

Ordered the small because that is what I usually wear in Bean clothes. I usually wear a t-shirt under wool and like the heavy sweater to be a little loose. Tried it on, found it too snug, called Ccustomer service right away and ordered a medium in exchange. Had it within 4 days. It's a perfect fit for me. Love the warmth and colors. As usual, excellent customer service

This is such a warm and comfortable sweater! It's quite warm, and I love that it's 100% wool. The fit is loose enough to wear a shirt under, but not so baggy that it looks sloppy on its own; it's exactly the fit I was looking for. I am very happy with this purchase, and may even come back for another color. (I purchased the Bean Green.)

What a great sweater! At first I was attracted to the pattern. At 25% off I thought I'd give it a try and purchased it online in maroon. This is the warmest sweater I have ever had. It's beauty, utility and craftsmanship rivals the handmade woolens we saw for so much more money in Iceland. I am very pleased.

After looking at this sweater for months, I finally ordered it in green, and I am so glad I did! It's such good quality and a great fit. I was afraid it would be itchy and bulky, and it's neither. I do wear a t-shirt underneath it, but it doesn't itch at all (I'm really sensitive to fabric texture), and it's nicely thick but not bulky, comfortable and flattering. I have gotten compliments every time I've worn it. I wanted it to be roomy but not too bulky, and the medium fit just as I'd hoped.

This sweater has been a great addition to my wardrobe, especiially with the weather this year in Upstate New York. It is a really warm, toasty piece and I have worn it allot. It also washes up nicely. Great buy!

I bought this sweater in cream -- it's very rich looking. I like the weight and the fit -- wasn't sure whether to buy medium or large, but took a change on the large since I tend to like things roomy. It didn't disappoint!

Beautiful sweater and nice and warm. Warm is important. I love Fair Isle sweaters and was very happy to buy this pullover and the cardigan to match. I like the size medium as I like sweaters comfy not tight. Highly recommend and hope you have more next year.

This is by far the heftiest sweater that I own. I have definitely been too warm in it at times making it hard to be an 'every day sweater', but in a cooler house it is comfortable and it is perfect for looking stylish and being warm while spending time outdoors during the colder winter months. I wore this sledding with my kids with just a light layer underneath and a puffy vest on top. It's a little bulkier than most of my sweaters but given its new purpose of being a winter warrior for outdoor play, it is perfect.

Loved it and wanted it to fit over a long sleeve shirt, but it was way too big. Never buy for teens without checking with them.

I bought the magenta, or burgundy color and I love it. Because it's wool, I would highly recommend wearing a turtleneck or other shirt under it so it's not "itchy." It fits absolutely perfect for me and I'm considered "petite" -- the arms aren't too long. I normally don't like wool sweaters, but the sweater was very attractive; that's why I purchased it. I can wear it with anything and it's very warm -- it keeps in the warmth. When I'm in my downstairs, which is kind of cold, I wear it to keep warm and I don't even have to put on a heater! It is a beautiful color and I'm pleased with this purchase.

Good quality wool sweater needed for northern Wisconsin weather. Vastly superior to your competitor LE which has gone down hill.

I love this sweater! It sort of has a winter nordic look to it, but with a modern "outdoorsy" style. I have worn it several times and received multiple compliments each time I've worn it.

This is a wonderful pullover Fair Isle design sweater that fits true to size. I usually wear small or extra small tops, as I have small shoulders, and the extra small fits great. The colors (maroon, white, and grey) are beautiful. The only issue I have is that the woven sleeve/shoulder seams are visible, and I wouldn't expect that with LLBean; in fact my LLBean sweaters from years gone by were finished with more quality. I haven't washed this sweater yet and hope it doesn't shrink. It pills a little with each wearing, but I expected that to happen. It's very warm and comfortable; the wool is not scratchy (I wear turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks under it). So far, so good.

Bought this sweater for my wife for her birthday. Fits great, looks great, she loves it. It is not "itchy" as some wool can be.

This is a beautiful, classic looking sweater. It is a heavy weight wool but it is fine for the mild winters in NC. Since it is a 100% wool, I wanted it a little larger when I bought it because I knew it would shrink a little when I washed it by hand. It didn't shrink much and washed fine by hand. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a classic, preppy sweater.
