True to size and nice fit. Hit the trail over the weekend and didnt experience any break-in discomfort whatsoever. Very rugged and sturdy hikers. A+

I would have given them a Great but they don't have the round laces anymore. I wore a pair for several years and the round laces never wore out. I will have to see how the flat ones do over time.

These are the newest in the Sawtooth line and I have been wearing the Sawtooth II for a long time so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the exact same size as my prior model Sawtooth II and was surprised that they were way too tight on both feet - mainly in the toe area.
Set up for a postage paid return and ordered the WIDE in the same size. As soon as I dropped the first pair at UPS for return I received my refund. Great customer service!!!
I received my new WIDE pair and they fit perfectly! They are extremely comfortable and I expect that they will last almost forever as my Sawtooth II have done.

I bought these for my son who is very active, and likes to hike with one of his former teachers, He is high functioning autistic,. He said the boots seemed a little tight. I don't believe he needs a wide though, as he's never worn wide shoes before. I think he will be fine with these.

I'm a heavy guy. 300 lbs. I can walk in these hikers all day. I have wider feet. My boot size is 11.5 EE. I purchased the 12.5 E of this shoe. It is very comfortable. The toe box is has plenty of room for my feet. They are water proof as advertised. My feet stay dry in dewy conditions and the occasional puddle that doesn't come above my ankle. Great Shoe and great warranty.

Excellent quality shoes that I will keep buying! These are especially good If you have a wider forefoot, they fit super well whereas other shoes its impossible for me to find in the width I need. I wear these constantly and they hold up!

I like the fit and support of this shoe but not excited about the lacing system. The lacing of the Sawtooth II was superior in my experience.

These Sawtooth X Low shoes were my 4th pair of Oboz hiking shoes. The other Obozs were perfect right out of the box and universally my favorite shoes. I typically hike 6 to 15 miles at a time and I have never had a problem - until now. I bought these to replace my Sawtooth IIs. From the start they were stiff and just didn't feel great. I went on one of my usual hikes and after about three miles started getting blisters on my heels. I hobbled back to my car. After my feet healed I tried them again being very careful with my socks and lacing, but gave up after about two miles. In short, these shoes are nothing like my previous Oboz. I'm very sad to say this because i have been such a huge fan for so long. As for quality, the little loop on the back of the shoe tore the second time I put the shoe on. If anyone at Oboz reads these reviews, please go back to your old design and high quality!!!.

When I first tried them on in store, I noticed the changes right away . Different (cheaper? soles), and my heels kept slipping as I stepped. I decided against the Oboz purchase and got the Salomon X Ultra quick lace - which gave me blisters on a 2 mi walk around neighborhood. Decided reason was not tight enough laces and was managing ok until a 10 mi Whites hike changed all of that and could not make them comfortable at all. Returned Salomons and quickly decided on Obox X low sawtooth. But this shoe does not fit right. Every step it feels like Im stepping out of the heel. The upper seems shorter and tightening them to account for heel slippage makes feet hurt. Ive tried to like them and make them work but cant see anyway Im taking these on a real hike. Im going to have to return them and figure out something else. Its too bad because these were my 3rd pairs of Oboz and previous pairs fit perfect and I loved them. I do not like the new changes in design, primarily with the fit but also the sole differences. Does Oboz have any recommendations on fixing the heel? Clearly Im not the only one having issues with them. And for $160, they should be perfect!

These appear to be great shoes but I returned them because they were not wide enough. I had been communicating directly with Oboz about the width of their different models. They stated this shoe was a true wide so both the outsole, insole and upper were EE. I had already ordered the Sypes shoe in wide only to find out only upper was wide not the outsole and insole. When I compared the Sawtooth to my Sypes regular width the Sawtooth insole and outsole were the same.

I bought these at end-of-season just so I had this second color in what is the best fitting day hiker I have ever worn. I vacationed in my neutral/buff colored Sawtooth X, and found myself wishing to look a bit more coordinated with color, as unnecessary as that actually is. I was dressed in charcoal/gray and black, and had my buff colored Sawtooth X pair on. It was only because I knew they come in charcoal that I thought to get a pair to alternate with to give the buff ones a day off and dry out if need be. I ALSO wanted a second pair to make sure I have these incredible hikers for as long as possible. Every foot is different, but when I tried on my first pair of Oboz several years back - a pair of Bridgers - I felt like they had been custom made for my foot, especially the arch and inner-side foot area plus toe box. My foot relaxed and felt ultimate support and comfort. These new charcoal Sawtooth Xs are my fourth pair of Oboz. They are my perfect day hiker. I also have the mid/high versions as well for any longer, tougher treks.

Nice shoe, but had a cosmetic flaw and was returned. No more in my size, so switched to another shoe.
