I bought my pair of Sawtooth X Low Waterproof at REI Bozeman last Summer 2022. Paid $140.00 for them. I didn't start wearing them until early 2023 but already the stitching is coming out on all front corners where the front of the shoe meets the leather part on each side of the shoe. This is the second pair of shoes from Oboz that have failed prematurely for me. My last pair of Bridger (waterproof) failed prematurely as well...where the shoe leather upper meets the sides of the shoe came apart on both shoes. Not impressed.

I just bought my 4th pair of Oboz from Boone Mountain Sports (Evergreen, CO). The shoes are consistently well made, comfortable, sturdy and durable. The tread design is innovative- there are cleats that are shorter than the main cleats so they come into play once the main cleats have worn down. The heavy sole does a great job of absorbing the rocks on the trail. I switched from Merrills as their sole is too soft. My only complaint is that the laces are very short, too short to tie a double knot.

I ordered the same size as another pair I own but these are way tighter and seem smaller.

This is my second pair to replace one that the soles have worn out that I got two years ago. This new pair seems to run a tad smaller and it is a problem. I though it was a matter of just breaking them in, but they are still too short.

I have been wearing Bridger low since they came out. I wanted something a little less ridged and the Sawtooth X fit that billed perfectly!!! I am on my feet all day and the Sawtooth X is probably the most comfortable hiking shoe that I have worn.

This pair seems good so far, but had to order wide size as I have noticed a lot of variability in toe box space which has been a problem in the past. Shoes are often a half size to 1 size smaller than listed, but you don't have half sizes in 13 so trying to find a solution by adding wide.

The support is great but there is an inch long section of the exterior toe area that is pealing off after 1 months use. Not what I expected from Oboz & customer service was dismissive & condescending.

Comfort and support right out of the box. Just as expected with any Oboz shoe and in particular, the insole. My 4th pair of Oboz and they keep staying true to their legend. Don't change a good thing!

Ended up sending them back. I am a big Fan of Oboz trail shoes. I did not like this shoe , Changed the eyelets from metal to cloth , Shoe also did not have the same support as my 3 other pairs of Oboz. One thing that has changed is the $$$ Price . For $160 it should check all the boxes. just a Honest review from a 10 Year plus customer. Still a Oboz fan, just not these.

Good fit and feel. I like the flat laces; they don't come untied like the round laces on my previous Oboz shoes.

I've owned two pairs of Sawtooth II and love them! Unfortunately, the new Sawtooth X does not breath at all.

I ordered a 10 Wide because, well of course I have pretty wide feet. Previous Oboz did well with that sizing. Im not sure if it was the redesign or what, but the width definitely isnt as accommodating as before, and my toes are definitely squeezed into the toe box. The rest of the shoe is fine.

For years I have been wearing the Firebrand as it did run a bit narrow and fit my size 14B better. During the Pandemic and until just recently the Firebrand in 14 was not available. The Sawtooth X thankfully runs a bit narrower as has been noted in these comments and I recently got a pair through my employer website. They fit me well and will be my go to for work and the trail. Also purchased a pair of Firebrand through Oboz as they are now available. Thank you for the Sawtooth X. If you have Narrow feet, try these shoes! Not much out there for people with skinny feet.

Yeah here I am, get off my lawn old guy complaining about change. I've been through 4-5 pairs of original Sawtooths, can't remember exact number... well because I'm the old guy. Just tried on the new Sawtooth X at my local camping/ outdoor store. Tried the same size I've always worn 11.5 regular, I have a narrow foot and the old Sawtooth was a perfect out of the box fit. New Sawtooth fit feels different it feels tight on both feet, especially my right foot, it feels narrower. I tried on a 12 it seemed slightly better but counter intuitive that I would have to change shoe size. I thought maybe because I've been wearing my old Sawtooths for 2 years and they had worn/stretched out, that might be the reason for a different feel so I took a chance and purchased the 11.5 and brought them home. I've worn them around the house for a couple of hours, and they still feel too narrow, I even put on a lighter pair of wool socks to see if that was the issue and it hasn't helped. Came to the Oboz site and was relieved to see they still have some original Sawtooth's in stock and ordered a pair. I see there is an ongoing shoe lace discussion with these reviews and have to laugh. I was excited to see the Sawtooth X has flat shoe laces, my only complaint with the original shoe was the round laces that constantly would come untied. I see in the reviews Oboz responded that was their consistent complaint about the Sawtooth originals, I guess I'm not alone. Oboz makes a great product and I'm confident the Sawtooth X will be a great performer for many folks who the shoe comfortably fits, unfortunatley that's not me.

I bought about 6 pairs of the Oboz Tamarack BDry Hiking Shoe. Always very supportive and comfortable. This time the Tamarack was unavailable so I bought the Mens Sawtooth X Low. Sorry to say they are disappointing. Not as supportive and comfortable. I have very flat feet so I need that support the Tamarark provided.

I have been wearing the Sawtooth both mid and low for several years. I recently purchased the Sawtooth X low BDry to replace two earlier pairs. The great feature of the earlier Sawtooth model was its generous toe box. The snug fit of the new model has eliminated the roomy toe box, leaving my toes squished and sore. I find the boots simply unwearable. Alas, Ive worn them a few times and so I cant return them to my local outdoor shop.

The Sawtooth II was a perfect fit. This new version has a shallow narrow fit and requires a wide version that throws off other dimensions. Its obvious to me the update was more about looks than function. A 2.0 version is needed

I put these on and didnt want to take them off. This coming from a guy who wears Keen H2 sandals daily. The Sawtooths grip my foot like a gentle hug or a good pair of gloves. The height is perfect on the ankle for flexion of the foot but still gives solid footing on uneven ground. Ive always been a big Oboz fan so maybe Im biased. But they did it right with the upgrades to this already super shoe.
