I walk between 7-10 miles a day and find that the cushioning of the Provision is good for me. However, the footshape at the top is narrower than the Torin or other Altras I have purchased. The shoe definitely rubs the side of foot and the top of my toes. I would not recommend this shoe for anyone with bunions. I would return them and go back to the Torin, but I have worn them thinking they might loosen up after a week. They did not.

The toe box was nice but around my arch and heel it was too narrow

These shoes are very padded, and comfortable on the insole, but inside the shoe, my foot seemed very unstable, moving around a lot. They are not long enough to size down. I think it is the material the shoe is made out of, very flexible, almost stretchy.

Have been wearing the Paradigm style for a while and hoped this would fit as well. Just a little too snug for my bunions.

I just used them for walking around work. They had plenty of vision but for some reason, they always slipped off my heel on right foot. Never experienced this before. Ordering different one.

Nice fitting shoe, however I did not like the style and returned the shoes.

I wanted so badly for this upgraded Provisions 6 to perform like or better than Provisions 5. Unfortunately, I'm finding the added cushion and changes do not make this shoe as supportive as the previous Provisions 5. Please bring back Provisions 5!!! The 6 is not as good!

I kept giving it the benefit of the doubt but the heel cup of the right shoe is NOT the same size as the left. The right one is much higher and thinner which makes it unstable and unenjoyable to wear.

I find the guide rail system to be pretty uncomfortable. Although the shoe is designed to protect the foot from over pronation, it misses the mark. This does not feel the the Altra "Standard" last, instead it feels quite narrow/slim. I own several pairs of Altra shoes with the standard last and these feel quite different. Lastly, while it still features a relatively spacious toe box, the shoe length feels small. I am usually a 6.5 or 7 in Altras, depending on the model, but I would have to go a half size up on these for them to feel passable.

I received the provision 6 as a Christmas gift. I have used it so far three times. The first time the left shoe felt off at the arch, my foot started cramping & it was kinda uncomfortable to run in. Maybe I needed to "break them in" , I thought, but the next two times it was still the same issue. My right shoe feels fine but the arch on the left just doesn't seem right.

I was very excited to receive these shoes because I already own a pair and they are so very comfortable. When I received the black ones as soon as I put my foot in the shoe I knew there was a big difference it feels like there is no padding in the soul whatsoever. Very disappointed, I sent them back for a refund. Still waiting.

I purchased these shoes and immediately on trying them on I felt pressure on the sides of my toes. I had bunion surgery 10 years ago and it's important to me to have enough room to spread my toes. I've been wearing only altras to run for 5 years and these are the narrowest shoes I've tried. The bottom of the shoe is foot shaped but the upper is slim and the same width from the mid foot to the toe box. No room for my toes to splay! They hurt right away. Such a bummer, I was shocked that these aren't even the Slim fit. I wish Altra had more wider toe box options, I will try some other altras but am considering looking for a different brand going forward.

Bought these to wear at work, 12 hour shifts. Within a week each shoe had a weird crack/pop sound and a crease appeared in the top of the toe that doesn't pop back out. Annoying enough to where I'll feel it at least once a day poking on top of my toes. For the price, it shouldn't have done that, I don't think it's the actual top part, but the actual foot bed that might've snapped or something

Update to my earlier review. While I still love the fit and feel of these shoes, they are not durable. The toes should not rip after three months which is how long I’ve had these. At this price point this shouldn’t happen. Altra needs to up their game.

Not as comfortable as I would have thought, the toe box is good, but the heel box is too small and the shoe string is too short!

Initially I was very happy with these shoes, the arch support is great and I love the extra toe room. After only 3 months of wear indoors only, several holes have worn into the toes of the shoes. I expected more for what I paid.

Size was ok. My biggest objection was the overall feel of the shoe. I thought it was uncomfortable. And the toe box is so big, I felt like I was wearing clown shoes! My sister loves Altras and since we have similar feet, I thought I would like them, but they are not for me.
I'd also recommend:

I run 2-4 miles a day/5 days a week. I usually alternate between Lone Peaks, Speedgoats and Brooks Ghost depending on the road or trail I'm running. I wanted to love these, as they are such a good looking shoe.
Pros: look great. Enough cushioning for my Morton's neuroma. Fit great- but run small. I went half size up in Lone Peaks and they were sloppy, but these are perfect in a half size up.
Cons:
1. The laces aren't long enough once you add the heel lock.
2. I use orthotics in them (for cushion- I don't have high arches) and it makes my feet hit the top with them in. These are old orthotics, so not super high either, and work in all my other shoes fine. That said, it isn't too uncomfortable but it's noticeable.
3. This is the dealbreaker- for some reason my right heel is super sloppy. There's nothing I can do or tighten to make it better. Only the right heel. I've never experienced this before, and my feet are equal in size. It's almost like the rigidly in the heel of the right foot is less or the cut of the toe box is off and pushes my heel out to the right. Super weird.

i like the way the ankle collar feels. i don't like how thick and stiff the arch support strap is. also the stitches are uncomfortable on that strap.

I pick Altras specifically for the natural foot shape, especially since I have a bunion on one foot. The Torins are a perfect example of shoes that are shaped like feet! Unfortunately for me, the Provision 6 is shaped more like any traditional sneaker.

The Provision 6 has a joke of a toe-box, these are duck-like. My biggest peeve is the tread. It picks up every little pebble available! Ruin your floors, or spend an hour picking them out. NOPE!

I had used the Altra Provision 4 for the last year or so with no problem. After 500 miles switched to these. The laces go up higher on my foot and 5 minutes into my run I developed excruciating tendonitis.

The first time I wore this shoe was just for shopping. My left foot hurt within 10 minutes of being on my feet. I've never had foot pain. I wore these shoes three more times with the same result. I wish I could return them. I've never had trouble with Altra, and they are my go-to shoe. Now I'm uncertain about ordering them for the first time. I plan to order another brand to replace these. It was nice while it lasted, Altra.

This is my third pair of this shoe. I am thinking this order is second quality/not manufactured correctly. The shoes feel like there is no cushion on the outer half of my feet. The last pair that I threw away because this pair had arrived felt better and I thought they were worn out which is why I purchased a new pair

I bought these during the Black Friday sale. These are my 4th pair of Altras and they really feel off. The right shoe feels fine, but the left shoe digs into my arch in a strange way. Almost feels defective. Unfortunately the were purchased as a final sale. I can't wear them to run because of the strange rubbing on my left arch. My other Altras are AMAZING but these are a hard pass.
