My teenage son needs a shoes that allows for a limited arch, a high instep, wiggle room for his toes, and that doesn't have him on a wedge lift. And he needs to be be able to run, play, ride a bike... be a kid. This is his third pair of Altras, and his second pair of lone peaks. They've all been great! In this new pair he has commented on the toe guard. Icing on the cake. Thank you Altra.

Really dig the Lone Peak 6. I bought these to replace my 5's after I had given them a little too much love, and after a few runs and a couple of hikes I think the 6's are a movement in the right direction for the shoes. The upper feels a little lighter and like it breathes just a little bit more, and maybe I'm wrong but the heel and tongue don't feel as padded. I know I couldn't wear the 5's without a tying a runner's knot because my heel would slip around (I have narrow heels and this is common for me with many shoes), but with the 6's the lockdown is much better and my heel is much more secure even before tying a runner's knot. I definitely prefer to run in the 6's over the 5's because of these minor differences. This update is how I wish every company would update their shoes: just small improvements that are almost undeniably good. If you're a trail runner and haven't tried altra or zero drop shoes I'd highly suggest getting these in your rotation. The extra room in the forefoot of altras and the zero drop sometimes allows my foot to relax if I've been doing a lot of runs in tighter racing shoes, and I really feel like mixing up the technical specs of my shoes keeps my feet a little healthier.

I love these shoes. They are my third pair of Lone Peaks! I use them for running in inclement weather, snow and ice.

Very happy, switched to more barefoot type shoes and this company recommended by 2 reliable businesses. Will stay with this product from now on.

I've had many different Altras over the past several years. This shoe reminds me of the provision 3.5 which was my favorite shoe of all time. I'm not so fond of the more recent provisions. However, this lone peak 6 is amazing. No break-in needed, it fits so well and is super comfortable right out of the box. The materials, the fit, and the look are all great in my opinion. I can't speak on the durability yet because I just got them. Great job with this one.

My toes look like they did 75 summers ago (kinda like a Hobbit) when I wouldn't have cramping shoes on my feet all summer. Now I can have that Joy and still wear shoes. Me and my Altras are heading for a 500 mile jaunt on the Camino this Spring.

I love these. They are super light and comfortable. I get some people don't like the wide toe box but these were perfect for me.

I totally trashed a pair of altras about a year ago on a review BUT I decided to give them another shot and they more than made up for it with these shoes. First pair of lone peaks and I'm impressed. Now to see if the durability will hold up!

I have planters fasciitis and these shoes are comfortable without my usual inserts. The wide toe is very nice makes a very comfortable shoe to do anything in.

The Lone Peak 6 is perfect for its intended use. I've run in several different models of Altras since 2013 and have appreciated that Altra listens to runners and makes alterations when practicable. Last summer, after the VA finally replaced my knees and gave me some additional compensation, I purchased the Olympus 4, then the Torin 5. This series of shoes have been consistent in size -length and width. Upon our move cross-country, the movers stole everything we own, so now I just have the LP6's. I began jogging again, after 4 years without running, on 01JAN20. I am 9 months post-op from the simultaneous knee replacement. I began jogging in Vibram FiveFingers but have now transitioned back to Altras for additional cushioning so I can begin running faster. The LP6's have adequate road feel, sufficient cushioning, great traction, and foot shape. I feel as though they should be appropriately durable, given my 10kg overweight and learning how to run again. Oh- and I like the contrasting laces, although I always replace them with Lock Laces.

This is my 5th pair of Lone Peak shoes. Before I found these I had constant pain in both knees for years. These shoes honestly changed everything. They are my all day, everyday and everything shoes.

I have Parkinson's Disease and am a fall risk. the only complaint I have is that the rubber "lip" extending beyond back of shoe some times catches when going down stairs. Learning to acompensate for this.

I've worn Altras now for over 10 years. Unfortunately, this model of lone peak felt too narrow in the mid-foot area. The wide size seems a touch bigger so I needed to go down a half size. Even with having to return the shoe, Altra Customer service is awesome. Thank you.

Been wearing Lone Peaks since the beginning. Recently purchased the 6 and noticed the heel pull in strap was made for child size fingers. Hmm so had to cut off straps from worn Lone Peaks and reattach with a strong adhesive to my new Lone 6. Color doesn't matter. Can't believe the Lone 6 made it thru quality control. With a small finger size loop. Who makes these decisions? A consumer sho

I wore my Timp 1.0 til the soles fell off. This year I made the switch to the LP. I got them in Sept so I could break them in for a vacation to Italy in Nov. They were great! No sore feet and we covered between 40-50 miles. My only complaints, I should have ordered the black in Wide. The grey is WAY lighter than expected and the wides would have been better for me. The wide toe box helps, but they're still snug after 70 miles or so. Oh well, lesson learned.
