Im usually an 11 to 11.5. This year the lone peaks are completely true to size. I wear an 11.5 in the Olympus for example. I have a standard width foot with a high arch. These versions feel more like running shoes than a trail runner. The upper on these things is feather light and the removal of the extra stitching and gator hook makes these things even better for all the ultra light campers and backpackers alike. Same trail claw and strike plate and toe guard - all essential and working as advertised. Best version of these so far and ive been through em all even the 0.5 models.
Ive been hiking Zion National Park everyday since buying these. I enter the park through the east gate amd walk to scouts landing. Ive put at least 100 miles on them and going.
The weep holes at the front of the shoe have let water out while keeping sand from getting in. My wife choose the new Timps and has had sandy socks even when wearing gators. Nothing against their airflow and ability to keep her feet cool bit you see what im getting at. If you want the best available for the trail, grab the lone peak 6s

I use this product for disc golfing. It feels very comfortable and has given me no problems at all.

I've owned the LP 4.5, 5, 6, and most version of the all-wthr. All are great shoes but the 6 has been my favorite so far. The 5 felt sloppy over the top of my foot and I felt as though I was always trying to further tighten the laces to compensate. The 6 feels much better and has held up well to many miles on the trail.

I've started using Lone Peaks for all my hiking about 18 month ago, covering trails in Yosemite, the Eastern Sierras, CA Central Coast, SoCal Mountains, Joshua Tree and the Southwest. I am convinced this is the best hiking shoe out there! The foot shape and wider fit allows my feet to expand during the hike so I don't ever hit the "I can't wait to take this shoe off" point. Fleet Feet measured my feet as 10.5, so size 11 allow the perfect extra room for my toes not to hit the end during downhill hiking.
I just completed the Grand Canyon R2R wearing the Lone Peak 6 shoes. Despite covering over 21 miles and 6300' of elevation gain, I then had to walk just under 2 miles to the North Rim. They performed perfectly. No hot spots and no blisters. My feet did feel beat up and tired, but that was due to the 23+ miles I covered. After a shower, and and hour of rest, my feet felt great again. Thank you Altra!

Much better than brooks or Lems. Would highly recommend to anyone with foot pain, wide feet, or that just want a good pair of shoes to do everything in. I wear them everyday to cycle, run, walk and work in. Literally saved my feet from everyday pain of being squeezed into narrow torture devices we call most other shoes.

Altra only makes 2 shoe styles in the original foot shape fit (Lone Peak & Olympus). All other Altra styles are narrower in the toe box and don't work for me. Why Altra does this is another question, but in my humble opinion Altra needs more original foot shape styles than just these two.
Anyway, I've been buying Olympus, but the latest Olympus 5 was a big disappointment (see Zappos reviews, I'm not alone here). So, I gave the Lone Peak 6 a try and was pleasantly surprised. Not as much support and heft as the Olympus 4's that I really like, but I wear the Lone Peak 6 as a casual shoe and it works really well for that.
The Dusty Olive color is also really cool, goes well with a lot of different pants that are in the green/olive/charcoal color family. I ordered a 2nd pair of Lone Peaks in the funkier brown/orange color because I like the Lone Peaks so much.
I'd also recommend:
Vuori, Rhone, Public Rec (clothes, not shoes - only Altra shoes work for me!)

Great fit and feel. Best shoe I have used in 15 years. Wore them for a good run right out of the box. I’m 6’ 190#. Great on road and trail without feeling weird on either.
I get good response from my feet. I feel secure. Better turning than escalantes. I will buy these from now on for all running I do.

Understand the cult following now! Love these. Great for dirt trail runs. Not enough support for steep trails or rocky terrain. LOVE

I have been getting sprained ankles, several times per year, for 34 years. After wearing these shoes, I have rolled my ankle 1 time, and that was the second day I had the shoes. The low heel and stability of these shoes has basically corrected the way I walk, so that my ankles don't roll and buckle anymore, when I step on uneven ground. They are fantastic shoes. Extremely light weight and comfortable.

Construction worker. Only shoe I can wear that I can walk at the end of the day. Way better than the famous $400 work boots.
Altra should make a heavier duty work shoe. I probably am going through close to 6 pairs a year due to the rugged nature of my job. I buy 3 pairs at a time, seriously the only shoe I can wear, hiking or working. Other shoes create excruciating pain in my Achilles or the ball of my foot. These are perfect out of the box every single time. Been wearing them since 4.0 found them at Sierra trading post, have not purchased another shoe since.
Please make a work shoe, there is another shoe company that has done quite well transferring their design to a popular work shoe. Just not one that works for me.
Best shoe I've ever worn.

The first time I put these on, they felt great without any breaking in!
The anatomical toebox is something that I have wished for in a shoe for a long time!
I took these on my first ever mountain hike (9 miles of climbing, ridgeline, & descending), and they performed great!

I just returned from a 5 day 60 mile hike on the Chestnut Route in northern Italy. There were a variety of surfaces on this trail: paved streets in towns, grass, mud, rocks and gravel and the LPs were great on all of them. Wore these the first day but decided to wear some hiking boots the second day and my feet were uncomfortable after 4 miles. Luckily I packed the LPs so I put them back on and the discomfort was gone in a couple hundred yards. Wore them the rest of the hike/run and came out with my feet feeling great! No blisters, no soreness, no Achilles issues. I'm not exactly sure why the zero drop works for me, but Im glad it does. Love these shoes.

This is my first pair of Altra shoes and I absolutely love them for my feet. I can see why this is a polarizing shoe if you do not have the right foot to fill it; however, I have a medium width foot, a medium high instep, skinnier heel, and very square toes. This shoe feels like it is custom made for my foot. The toebox is perfect for letting my square toes spread out while the rest of the shoe hugs my foot and heel, so my feet are locked in even while going downhill or on off camber trail. The lacing system on the light upper fabric of this shoe is genius for getting the perfect tightness over ones instep while also hindering unwanted foot slippage inside the shoes.
I always get a size 10 in all other running shoes to give more space for my toes. In a size 10 in other running shoe brands, my pinky toes are always squished. I was able to try this trail runner on a treadmill (along with a bunch of other trailing running shoes) at Salt Lake Running Company in both a 9.5 and 10 before making my purchase. Size 9.5 ended up being my correct size, since I FINALLY had room in the toe box, while the 10 was a little too sloppy with the lighter upper fabric. I highly recommend trying this shoe before buying as you can probably go 0.5 a size down to your "true" size depending on your foot shape.
I have never had a zero drop shoe before and I love the feel of not being pitched forward. To me at least, the zero drop feels natural, especially when combined with the lower sole thickness and lightness of the LP6. The LP6 gives me a great connected feeling to the trail without lacking for comfort over sharp rocks and other trail obstacles. I also usually put a different insert in my shoes for arch support and I ended up not needing one in this shoe as I think the wider toe box and zero drop gave me much more balance while running and hiking.
Overall, this is the best shoe I have ever had and is ready for any trail I will ever take it on. Now, all I have to do is find this equivalent shoe from Altra in their road running section because I am hooked (it seems like the equivalent would be the Escalante 2.5? from my research so far).
I have not had a chance to use this shoe on a wetter day or truly test the durability of this shoe yet. If I can, I will update the review once I have tested the LP6's in wet weather and had them on for more miles.
Altra, please never change the LP6. I am in love!

I loved the LP5, and this is a slightly refined version. It's about an OZ lighter, and it seems like they made most of that weight disappear from the upper. I've gotten 500+ miles out of a couple of pairs now and it's my go-to shoe for everything from technical mountainous off-trail stuff to mellow rolling trails. If you liked the Lone Peak 5, you'll love this edition.

helped me win a 14 mile trail race on chunky single track on a wet and muddy day. Great traction, great durability, love the fit and light weight. My 5th pair of altras, also a big fan of the Olympus for longer training runs.

The Lone Peak 6's are probably my 10th pair of Altra trail shoes. Altras are the only shoes that my feet have loved, and I've tried many! I am a big fan of non bulky light trail shoes and these are them!!!

A bit more "beefy" than the mens superior 5, but that was just what I was looking for. Offers more protection/tread while still providing the same wide toe box, zero drop comfort, and without feeling overly bulky. I'm a size 11 in all Altra shoes (superior 5, lone peak hiker, vanish carbon, solstice xt 2) but went up to 11.5 to give my toes some extra splay and room on steep down hills. I could have gotten away with the size 11, but I prefer the extra room for down hills. A comfortable shoe to be in any time, though I've mostly just used it for trail running. Highly recommend!

I've been an Altra fan since the LP2.5 and these are the best yet. This is my second pair of LP6 and they are much longer lasting than previous versions. Took them out of the box and did a 40 mile backpacking trip to the Blue Glacier in Olympic National Park with zero issues. 100% will buy again.
