I just purchased my fourth pair of Lone Peaks. I used them exclusively for my 800km walk on the Camino de Santiago. I was singing their praises then entire time. I even convinced a few pilgrims to buy them..

Not a hardcore runner, but like high quality shoes that can perform when I need them to. These fit the bill. I've got other shoes with a large toe box and I like the performance and fit. But they don't look as good as these Altras.

This was my 1st pair of altra’s. I am on my feet all day and have tried most every shoe regardless of price. Out of the box these are comfortable and I switched the inserts to protalus. The greatly helped with my knee and back pain. I am hooked even though they are ugly as sin. it would be nice if they came up with a skate looking shoe, but regardless I like pain free walking and standing.

I have always had the hardest time fitting my awkward feet. These are the only shoes that have not had the toe box blow out on me. I've put them through the ringer from hiking through tundra in Alaska to running roads and they have stood the test of time clocking in over 800 miles in such a short span and still getting daily use.

This Model has been the best out of the bunch with great width but I wish the upper could be used on the Escalante 3 and in (WIDE) too. The 6 is such a stellar shoe.

This is my first pair of Altra, and I love em. I'd say they were a cross between Hoka and Brooks, both brands I own multiple sneakers of.

Got the wide version of this shoe. it's the only shoe I've found in my lifetime that doesn't make my foot go numb. Glad I found it, wish they had wide in other sizes. But I'll take one option over zero. It's comfortable. I prefer it without the insoles. I had another pair of the non-trail shoes in non-wide, regular/whatever and they were tolerable, still had to wear without insoles, which doesn't bother me, but my feet would go numb after a while indicating the width wasn't enough. These are wayyy bettter in wide, without insoles of course. They are so comfortable, I don't want to take them off.

I've put close to 100 miles on these on hikes generally 5-10 miles on everything from steep shale to flat fire roads. We haven't had much rain since I've been using them and can't yet comment on their performance in wet or slippery conditions. They allow great feel of the trail with just about everything under foot noticeable. They probably would not be ideal for long hikes with a pack but they are fantastic for short and fast hikes. And, as usual, the Altra zero drop does wonders for my pesky Morton's Neuroma.

They do fit better than the last and amazing stability on the trail. I think there is enough cushion.

I've always had great luck with the Lone Peak series and this latest improvement keeps these shoes at the top of my list for any off-road comfort! They're comfortable right out of the box and super lightweight. The aggressive outsole handles well on trails both up and downhill. I've read a few of the negative reviews and can't understand why others would have any problems with the fit or performance of these shoes. I own numerous pairs of Altra and have yet to be disappointed with the fit, comfort, and durability of the brand.

I am 67 years old and feel like I've never had a real pair of shoes. I ran marathons while in my 30s and always had toe problems. I had never heard of a toe box until I started hiking 3 yrs ago. I said to myself what are these shoes hikers are wearing. Bought a pair last week. These shoes were great right out of the box. Took them out for 27 miles this week. Your shoe is a podiatrists worst nightmare. You should make a commercial of a crying foot doctor.

To date I have only really worn this shoe on a river trail walking my dog. I did one hike and my foot moved around a bit more than I care for. They are the most comfortable shoe I have worn to date.

I've been dealing with capsulitis for some time, tried everything from shots into my foot, orthopedic shoes and inserts nothing has worked. Finally tried a pair of Altras lone peak 6, first day wearing them i was shocked by how comfortable they were and zero pain from my toes. When I got home I didn't need to ice my foot, first time in about 8months I didn't need to ice due to the pain. If you have capsulitis you must try this shoe!!! Great shoes, comfortable, stylish, lightweight!!!

I wasnt used to shoes with the toebox fitting this well. I'm still glad I got the size I did because I wear them for outdoor walks and hikes and I wear thicker socks so they are perfect, but if I have a pair for summer and thin socks, I will get 9.5. They are still the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I've tried them all too.

Fantastic shoe! Had it for 3 weeks. Ran, walked, Hiked and biked with them. Thanks so much for making my unusual size 16 and the wide selection has plenty of room for the toes. Just ordered another pair. Let me know if you will ever make your leather in a 16 wide so I can have a work shoe. Will follow up in 3 months for the durability test. Field service engineer for hospitals so on my feet all day and would love a leather pair for work. Thanks,MAK

Buy a half-size larger than you normally would so your toesies can sprawl, you can add socks, so descents don't harm toenails. Lace 'em up tight, lock the heal in to the rear cup, and fllloooooaaat the trail. Only thing that does not hurt in the backcountry after long days is my feet. Also, stomp in the creeks all you wish as these will dry as you walk within an hour, just pumping air in and water out. I wish I'd had these for my six years as USMC infantry!

I recently walked/ran Currahee Mountain in Toccoa, GA. This is where the WWII Easy Company Paratroopers Trained. Shoes were great for this terrain (Gravel/Dirt Road).

Use these for hiking. Have a pair of Olympus 4's that I've worn for almost a year. Was experiencing some leg pain. Bought the Lone Peaks, wore them for a week of a total of 30 miles hiking, no pain. By far the most comfortable shoe or boot I've ever owned.

I have already worn out at 3 pairs of Altra's and I still wear them casually. I am a trail runner, nothing terribly aggressive. But without going into gory detail, I've lost more than a few toe nails due to wearing other shoe brands. That is until I switched to Altra - the larger toe box is no joke, it works. And the zero drop has eliminated my chronic Achilles injury issues. The overall comfort and performance is exceptional. And as far as durability is concerned, as I'm writing this review, my current Altra Lone Peak 5's have 278 miles on them. That's why I'm ordering 2 pair of Lone Peak 6's. When I find what works I buy again and again.
