My son really likes his bookbag, everything inside was dry after getting wet in rain.

I bought this for my son as he starts 2nd grade & we love it. He will be able to use it for years to come! He loves the red backpack & black monogramming as a Georgia fan!

Great size for my 4th grader. Anything larger and its difficult staying organized. Quality seems great so far. Fits a small school-use Chromebook.

This is a perfect size classic backpack that has spacious storage, no frills, and secure front pockets for smaller items. The water bottle panels are "solid" material and not netting. I ordered it as an adult because I did not want a larger book carrying backpack like those designed for high school or college but wanted something roomy enough to carry some items, sweatshirt etc. This fits the bill exactly EXCEPT for the padded portion of the straps are almost too short for an adult. I am a average female (5'7 slim build) and the straps just fit. LLB, how about making this for adults but with longer straps and perhaps a more "grown-up" color combination also? I read some other reviewers who made the same request. This exact backpack with adult straps would sell fast.

Plenty of room for my son on hikes. Great middle-size backpack for elementary-age kids. Two of my other kids have been using theirs once or twice a week for hiking for a year and a half and they are still holding up really well.

Guys- LL Bean book bags are the truth. After my eldest son's first year of preschool, when his book bag didn't make it through the entire year before the seams on the strap coming apart, I was all done with those "cheap" book bags (which was probably $15-20 honestly). So I decided to buy an LLBean for him and my other son the next year. I spent $32 each back then (they are a little more now), and decided I wanted them to last through all of elementary. Last year I retired my eldest's after 6 years of use, and got him his new LLBean middle school/high school bag. His old bag was still very usually, but we wanted the bigger kid size. This year I am retiring my middle son's after 7 years of service (PreK-5 grade). It still looks greats. Seams are still strong, no holes, zippers all work well. It still could have a few more years I think. It's crazy to me. I don't buy my kids bags each year, and I know some people love that part of back school shopping. But I told them in kindergarten they would get a new bag in Middle school, and they just don't expect to get a new bag. At the end of the year I wash them in my machine on delicate and air dry them and store them until the following year. We also talked about the 11 or so book bags that would have ended up in a landfill if we bought a new one each year. We love that we avoided that!! Their book bags came out to cost $4.50 a year. Worth every penny! I strongly recommend, if you want a nice book bag that will last for many years- LLBean is the way to go!

We purchased this backpack for our young daughter for traveling this summer and to use to replace our diaper bag. LL bean is still knocking it out of the park with these classic backpacks. I used LL bean growing up and love this smaller size to be used to grow with her!
