I bought this backpack in lilac for myself for daily use and light travel. The water bottle pocket is large enough to fit a Nalgene bottle, which is awesome. There is plenty of space to hold everything I need for a day at the office or a day trip. I love that there are pockets inside for pens and other small items such as business cards, as well as a key hook. The material is easy to clean off. The colors are true to the photos online. I'm a petite woman and this backpack feels very comfortable and lightweight, not too bulky but also plenty big.

This backpack is so light!!! I have stuffed it to the brim with enough clothes for two kiddos on a weekend trip. But it also works perfectly as a backpack for my Kindergartner. I love that the material is water resistant and it’s extremely vibrant which makes my little guy easy to spot in the pick up line.

These are beautiful backpacks and we've owned many. Love this combination of colors, too.

I am very pleased with this bag for 8 year old son after he broke the 2 other backpacks from a different brand in a few months. My son also loves the bag as well. Such great quality and worth the wait!

Perfect size for my 3rd Grader. The material itself seems thinner than it was when I was a kid, but I won't know the durability for a while! My daughter picked a light color (it's so pretty!) so I was glad to see that it had already been treated with a Scotch guard!

The color if different, but size and wallet fit the same. Like the addition of the outside water bottle holder. Always have an extra bag in the outsize pocket if I find some surprises to purchase.

I bought this backpack mostly for travel, as it is dimensioned as maximum allowable size "personal item" and holds plenty of provisions for my short trips. Price is reasonable considering apparent quality and I like the blue color option and three zippered sections. Also a big plus is the small internal zippered compartment, which is ideal for cash and/or credit cards. I have used it on two trips thus far and it has already paid for itself in not having to purchase an additional bag with the airline!

I have purchased this very backpack for all four grandchildren, ages 4 to 7. They are made with quality and are handsome.

This classic L.L. Bean backpack is a "must have" for anyone. From young school children to working adults, this backpack gets the job done. We've used it for everything from textbooks to sunscreen, hairbrushes and office supplies, every family needs at least a couple! This is a classic L.L. Bean product. Well done L.L. Bean!

This backpack is a classic - my husband and I both had this style backpack when we were kids and this holds up to our not so careful 1st grader. A huge plus that it has her name on it for her.

2nd grader loves it! Takes me back to my elementary days when everyone except me had this bag. The embroidered initials are great! Hope this bag lasts him a long time.

I had a small duffle bag I used to carry my stuff, a book, some maps (Yes! I like to use a map. Sue me.), and other things. It wore out. I looked around and decided I'd try a backpack. I am VERY happy with it. It's light. It holds my stuff. I can sling it on my shoulder. I should have bought this a couple of years ago.

My niece lover her backpack. It is her first L.L Bean. It is her favorite color. L.L. Bean still lives up to its name, quality and durability! She has receive several compliments on her backpack!

we LOVE these! I had one when I was in middle school, about 30 years ago and I got the larger one in high school. I wanted my kids to get these instead of the cartoon character ones that break halfway through the year. finally we got them each one and they LOVE THEM! The quality is still amazing! Id say I'd buy more, but no need it as this will last forever.

My son's backpack came back well made and the embroidery was beautiful.

My four year old loves his backpack. I still have mine from high school so I know his will last. He spilled ice cream on a significant portion of the backpack after having it only a couple of days. I scrubbed it with a wet washcloth and it's as good as new!

My 5th grader told me this was THE backpack that everyone wanted. She picked the color and obviously got it monogrammed. I loved it too, so I ordered it immediately. It came in so cute! Great quality and lots of pockets.

I bought this several years back for light use and one of the straps simply came off. LL Bean paid for me to ship it to them, determined it was defective and sent me a new one in return. This one I bought in addition to the one they sent. Thank you, LL Bean for standing by your products! Please consider making this backpack in pink!!! The lilac is pretty, but not as close to pink as it looks online .
