Great bookbag but it didn't last one school year before the water bottle pocket ripped and the zipper on the front pocket is caught up to where it won't zip all the way now. Was really hopeful that this would last as long as mine did 25 years ago but that just isn't the case and of course no lifetime warranty amymore either.

This was purchased as a gift for my Grandson. Large bag, nice print, durable nylon construction. The bag will last. Gave it four stars only because these bags are no longer available in canvas. The canvas book backpack was ridiculously durable. I still have one I purchased at the outlet store shortly after it relocated by the Amtrak station in Freeport. I still use that bag quite regularly. With the exception of one little flaw, it looks almost as it did on the day I purchased it. I would liked to have purchased a canvas book backpack, however, the one that L.L.Bean offers would not quite have met his needs. All that aside, this is a durable and quality made book back pack.

My Granddaughter said that she wanted a front chest clip. This one didn't have that feature although she loved the backpack. For that reason we sent it back. Thank you.

Great, I wish tablet pocket was large enough for iPad.

Purchased for my grandson for school. Love it. Only con is the net pockets on the side for water bottles is too short to hold his stainless steel reusable water bottle, it keeps falling out.

My daughter loved tye dye print! She was even more excited about the 5th grade!

Love the backpack. My son loves it. The only complaint from him is that the straps are little rough but it might because he just needs to grow into it. He's only in 1st grade and he stopped complaining after a couple of weeks about it. Overall, a great backpack!

This book pack is absolutely beautiful except it has fewer inside pockets than an older, larger book pack I have. The exterior print of a modern art in purple and aqua blues reminded me of cerulean sky during daylight. Nonetheless, it has two water bottle mesh carriers on either side which is different than the other book pack I have. The fabric is really smooth and sturdy. Choose your own style. Thank you Bean!

Good backpack no rips or tears! It lasted for 1 and a 1/2 years before the zipper started jamming on the outer liner. I think it was a random fluke. My daughter has used 2 of their backpacks for the last 6 years. I was able to get get a replacement. Would buy again for years to come.

My daughter is a tall 6 yo and this backpack was perfect for her summer daycamp! The Two sections allowed us to put her lunch & snacks in one area and her towel/swim stuff/changes of clothing in a separate pocket. The front pocket was perfect for stashing sunscreen & bug spray. The water bottle pockets held her bottle well. While the bag was definitely large & packed full it helped her keep everything in one place! She was one of the only campers not having separate things to drag around. The tie dye is bright and fun! We were so happy to see LLBean do a fun print! Our only wish was that it had a chest strap. We tried some after market ones and unfortunately none of them worked. A chest strap (vs the weirdly placed & thin hip belt) would really make this the ultimate pack!! During the school year we will use this for dance-the two sections will be perfect for keeping her shoes separated from her clothing!

We orders this for our 4th grader. It's light and holds all her school materials/book and computer. She loves it!

This is a gift but had a good look at it. I think it's going to be perfect for 4th-6th grader that needs to bring a Chromebook, lunch & books back & forth from school on a daily basis. I think this backpack will hold up under strenuous circumstances.

My niece loves it! Cute, durable, plenty of room, and colorful.

This is a great pack. Very roomy. I don't love the material though. It's a shiny and I prefer the old canvas ones.

Has lots of space, love the padded pocket for a cellphone. Straps are easily adjustable, delivery was quick!

I really like this backpack. It is roomy and big enough for everything you'd need to bring to and from school in the winter and beyond. My only complaint is the straps are very stiff and are taking a while to break in. The color is beautiful and the quality of the bag is very good. I'd buy another one if I needed one.

Bag is well made. The problem is the straps are sewn very close together at the top of the bag which my child finds extremely uncomfortable. We have extended the straps so the bag drops down and away from the neck. Will try for a week and then decide if we need to return.

The bag is a lot bigger than expected, I do love LL Bean's quality backpacks.The only reason it got 4 stars is because the inside seams on the shoulder straps are very sharp and rough with this material, and the seam cuts into my daughter's neck and shoulder. This makes carrying the backpack very uncomfortable. I had to purchase seatbelt covers for the straps so that she could carry the backpack without scratching her skin.

I liked the backpack. It had lots of room and is really pretty, but it was just too big for me. What I didn't like was the money I was charged to return the item. As a result, I will not buy from L.L. Bean again.

Great backpack. Has all the storage features I need. Just wish the shoulder straps were made of a softer material. Scratches my neck when putting it on and off.

Great quality backpack with many useful compartments. The only thing missing is a chest strap to alleviate strain on the shoulders when carrying a heavier load. For this reason I give 4 stars.

The water bottle pocket needs to be a bit deeper as it falls out easily. Otherwise it is great with plenty of room and pockets for everything

I am a teacher at a middle school. I purchased the Super Deluxe Book Pack 5 years ago. I packed it to the max with my laptop, tablet, books, papers, and additional supplies. Then, I realized the weight was causing me back problems. About 2 months ago, the seemed between the very front organizer panel and zipper began to fray, but I could still use it. However, I purchased the smaller size, Deluxe Book Pack, to avoid overfilling, causing more damaging my back, and potentially damaging the contents inside from the rain. I love this bookbag, and it was great to use as a personal item during my recent trip overseas, fitting perfectly under the seat on all 8 of my international and domestic flights! It was even perfect to use while riding the speedboats to islands and sightseeing. I still use the bookbag for work and am extremely happy with my purchase. The missing organizing sleeve in front of the padded laptop sleeve is the only downgrade from my Super Deluxe Book Pack. I would use that extra pouch to hold loose paper and folders. However, I've managed just fine without it.

This backpack a great space for my 6th grader! The only complaint she has is the straps need more padding since she has to carry all her books. Otherwise a great backpack!

Really nice bag, I had one in high school over 20 years ago that seemed to last for ever. My daughter is defiantly going to test this one because she seems to have at least 60lbs of books in it at all times. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the way the initials are on the bag. Our last name initial is in the front but the font is the same size and it makes it look like its someone else's bag.
