My kindergartner is rough on things! He's been carrying his computer home for virtual learning on snow days and by mid year his backpack ripped, so I went with LL Bean. I had mine for 20+ years and I know their backpacks are built to last. I hope his does the same. It fits him well and he says that it's really comfortable.

I bought a solid blue version of this backpack 5 years ago, when my son was entering kindergarten. He just finished 4th grade and used this backpack for all of elementary school! It has held up very nicely with little wear. Only this year, one of the mesh bottle pockets has started tearing a bit (probably because my kid likes to fill them with rocks and pencils!) but otherwise, it still works fine. The backpack is a great size for holding folders, books, lunchboxes, and jackets, without being overly bulky. My son always liked the open front pocket for storing random treasures and last minute items. If you consider the price of buying a new cheap backpack every year, we actually came out ahead by only buying one of these. This backpack has definitley served us well!

We use this to hold all the supplies when we go hiking or to the beach with our dog. We use the front open pocket to hold the water bottles as the side pockets won't fit a large / XL water bottle.

We love the size of this backpack. My son outgrew his Junior Original Backpack and this bigger size is perfect. The side pockets hold his water bottles without them falling out. The design is very pretty and the straps are very comfortable. This backpack is big enough to last throughout Elementary School.

Love the reflective colors, the water bottle pocket comfortably fits a 24 oz Hydroflask bottle (it's not tumbling out), and it overall feels sturdy

Great Backpack! We bought this for Summer camp because it is more of the nylon/waterproof material and it hasn't disappointed. It also fits everything my so needs to bring daily.

This backpack has held up for two years of abuse from a 8 year old boy. It made it through two school years. He has also used it when traveling. It has survived summer camps, hiking trips, plane rides, boats, getting soaking wet, getting muddy, being thrown around and sat and stomped on. There are no rips or tears. I am amazed at the quality!!

My girls (9 and 11) like to fill their bags with library books and I have not seen any of the seam-ripping problems I had with previous bags.

I just wanted to add my little 2 cents for parents who need a durable backpack for their kiddos. I bought this last year for my kindergartner and not only did it hold up the whole year, he's using it now still in first grade. It big enough to fit all his needs without been too big for him. I'm glad my sister told me about LL bean bags!

This bag is a great size for my kindergartener and he loves the exterior pouch and buckle! I love the bright colors; just wish there were more color options! We used an LL Bean backpack throughout preschool but I spent $80 (with monogramming) on a popular non-LL Bean backpack many other kids at school had and some of the straps broke within two weeks of starting kindergarten (and of course, this company doesn't offer even a one year quality guarantee like LL Bean). Only buying Bean backpacks from now on!

Purchased for my 4th grader and it's been great so far. Holds his lunchbox, Chromebook, book, folder and the sweatshirt or jacket he stuffs inside without seeming like it's going to burst. It also holds his water bottle better than his last one; the pocket is wide and deep enough. And he loves the colors!

Our first-grader loves this pack. He's very proud of the different compartments for organization, and the color scheme is his favorite. He's only been using it for a month now so no basis for judging durability, but it appears well-made so we're hoping for the best.
