I purchased this for my grandson going into kindergarten. He loves it and can't wait to use it. I purchased one for his Mom when she went into 1st grade and she still has it. It looks very worn but she still uses it to take thinks to work with her. She still has a larger one I purchased when she was in middle school and used through college. You can't beat the quality of these bags!! My daughter has never traveled light and stuffs these bags as full as she can. We'll see how her 5 year old does!

I was very pleased this time around with my purchase. I was able to find just the one she wanted, and they had enough stock and choices that I was very happy. This time, as apposed to with my son's, the monograming went very smooth. They informed me of when it should be done, and actually confirmed my phone number to be able to call when it was done. It was not only done on time, but done by the next day. I was very pleased with the final product.

I bought this for my niece because the one that I purchased for my son when he started Kindergarten made it all the way through 5th Grade without a single problem. Awesome to see that it now has a water bottle holder. That was the only thing I did not like about my sons. We also ordered the matching lunchbox and it is still being used to this day in 8th grade, so I ordered one for my niece as well.

We purchased this backpack because our 7 year old borrowed a version of this backpack from a friend to go on a field trip, and we fell in love with it. That other backpack was a few years old, well-loved, but still in excellent condition. We laundered it a couple of times, and it came out looking great. So when an opportunity (awesome sale!) presented itself, we purchased one for our daughter. She LOVES it, it has an appealing print, and is beautifully done, the stitching looks solid, and we expect to get a lot of use out of it. It is hard to be able to rely on quality these days, and this one's a winner.

We purchase this backpack for each of our kids on their very first day of preschool, and it lasts all the way through elementary school (it would last longer if it were bigger - but then the littles wouldn't be able to lift it!). My kids are so excited to get their own bag with their own initials on it. I love that I can machine wash the bags when they inevitably get grungy, hang them dry, and they're ready for school the next day. You just can't beat the value of this bag!

These backpacks are great for little ones just starting school. I bought one for my grand daughter just starting kindergarten. They last for years! I bought them for two other grand daughters when they first started school and they still have them and they are both in their 20's now!

I bought this backpack for my 3 year old entering Jr. Pre-k (we got the dinosaur print.) He used it that 1st year, again in Sr. Pre-K as a 4 year old and it lasted (yet again) for a 3rd year as a 5 year old in Kindergarten. It has been washed a handful of times and still looks great. We will be updating to a bigger size for 1st grade, but only because I have a pretty big 1st grader. (The bookbag looks like it could easily last another couple of years or so.) In case you're wondering- it can hold a lot, without being too big for a little guy. It holds my son's folder, lunch box, water bottle, story books, and a 3 ring binder. There's a front pouch for pencils, etc. As stated before, I highly recommend this backpack. It has taken a good beating these past 3 years and is still as good as new.

I bought this for my 3 year old when her brother went to kindergarten in the deep aqua butterfly pattern. It's prefect size for a pre-schooler to pre-K child. She packs her toys and lunch box in it for road trips and her extra clothes and special toys for daycare. I wouldn't buy it for a kindergarten since it is rather small for school, but perfect for the little kids.

When I had a daycare 17 years ago, I bought my kids going into 6th grade LL Bean backpacks, Now I buy between 10-15 a year just for kids I know may need them. It is rewarding to me to do this because every child deserves the best backpack to go to school.

This book bag is exactly what I wanted for my son! Being a substitute teacher, I know it makes everyone's job easier when items are labeled! So with this in mind, I had the monogrammed name added. The bookbag itself is the perfect size for my little guy who will start Pre-K this year. He loves the shark print. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic bag. Love the embroidered name. It doesn't show dirt and i have yet to wash in. (He got it for august and it is currently 1 week before summer vacation) it fits his lunchbox, vest or sweater, his school stuff and if needed his shoes as well. It barely shows any signs of wear and our son is not the gentlest with his things. It is the berfect size as to where is is positioned on the back. Not too big. Straps are padded ans comfortable. Outside pocket and a side pocket for a water bottle. Will buy again for my daughter when she starts kindergarten in september 2019. I highly recommend. Our son got the sharks. And his little girl friend got the dinosaurs. Both lovely.

I bought this to use as a toddler diaper bag, now that my kiddo is 18 months and doesn't need as much stuff for an outing. It is the perfect size, holds everything we need, and keeps me hands free. I usually pack it with a smaller bag of diapers and wipes, a bag with bibs and snacks, and maybe a toy or jacket, and we have room to spare. A sippy cup fits perfectly in the side pocket. It has been comfortable for me to wear during park trips etc. Plus, my kiddo can use this later once he no longer needs a diaper bag. The only thing I don't love is the "lip" around the zipper that makes it a little difficult to open with one hand. Definitely not a deal-breaker. This is a great little backpack, with excellent quality at a nice price point.

I bought this for my son August 2017 for kindergarten. He fell in love with the dinosaur pattern when we found it. We chose this bag over pottery barn kids bags. I have so happy we did, its adorable and has all the pockets you could even want or need. Very sturdy and doesnt show dirt. We havent washed it yet only spot cleanings so far but it still looks like new, only complaint is the reflective strip shows some wear but other than that it's flawless. Thinking about purchasing another for the upcomin school year and making this one a sleepover bag. The size of the bag fits him perfectly as a kindergartener and I think it will fit for a couple of years to come. When the time comes we will move up to the next size. He's already talking about how much he loves the solid red!!

I bought two of these bags and am delighted to see how well they are holding up after months of use. Just one note to pass along - these are smaller bags. After putting in class assignments, reading, library books and lunch bag there isn't much room for anything else. We need extra bags for snow gear or sneakers. Overall I like this bag but next time I will buy a larger one.

A gift for our granddaughter who was delighted to see her age appropriate floral backpack monogrammed with her nickname. It is well designed ~ the water bottle pocket is a bonus, as is the reflective material. As with the LLBean backpack her mother had as a little girl, I expect she'll use it until she outgrows it!

I bought the dino pattern for my son 3 years ago when he started pre-school and it's holding up really well. I've thrown it into the washer a few times and it looks like new! We have the matching lunch box which is looking a little beat up but that's to be expected. My only complaint is that I came back to buy a matching backpack and lunch box set for my daughter who will start preschool in the fall and there wasn't a matching option for the floral pattern. It was really nice for a 2-year-old to know which lunch belongs to them because it matched their backpack. Hopefully, LL Bean will have more patterns available closer to back to school time.

We bought this for our Grandson and he loved it from the moment he unwrapped it. What's not to like? Dinosaurs configured into a camouflage look? He is a tall 4 1/2 year-old and it fit just right. Great quality, look and value.

This is the 6th jr. backpack I've purchased from LLBean. One for each of my 3 boys, and 3 more as gifts. I'm always pleased with the quality and personalization. The dinosaur print is just as adorable in person as it is in photos.

This was a gift for my 2yr old granddaughter. I had it monogramed. Mom & Dad sent me a video of her opening it and trying it on. Great quality! Monogram is adorable for kids. I believe she'll get tons of wear out of this gift. Loved buying it from LL Bean !!!!

This is a word of caution for anyone ordering the Carbon Dino print for the bookbag and considering a monogram - go with the recommended color (natural, I believe)! On the screen it looked liked it would be washed out and barely visible so I decided to go with a darker brown tone. However, the print is much darker in person than what is depicted on the monogram selection screen and the recommended color would have been perfect. Otherwise I love this bag. Bought one for my daughter three years ago and she's still using it for kindergarten.

feels sturdy. cost less than some of those chincey ones you buy with the popular characters and my kid loves it all the same.

For years I've given these monogrammed back packs as baby gifts. The parents love them for diaper bags or overnight bags for the baby, and since they don't wear out (in 8 years thus far!) all of our grandchildren still use them for packing for sleepovers, trips to the library, camping, or what have you. I love that new prints keep coming out so that there are unique bags for each child. Please consider adding more solid colors as well! Thanks, LL Bean, for this great product!

I bought this backpack for my almost-5 year old, and he loves it (green dinosaurs! his name on it! what's not to love?). The backpack is just the right size for a smaller kid, and is very sturdy and made of thick fabric. I expect it will hold up quite well to the wear and tear inflicted on it by my outdoorsy child.

I bought this backpack for my preschooler two years ago. It held up amazing with everyday use. I am buying a new one now but only to change colors, the one we bought two years ago could last many more years. They are the perfect size for ages 3-7 but can still hold alot.

This backpack was perfect for my daughter for Kindergarten. A full-size backpack was simply too big for her to carry but she needed one big enough for notebooks and other Kindergarten supplies. This one was the perfect size. It still looks just like new after a year of use. We are upgrading her now to the Original Size backpack for 1st grade and this Junior one will be passed down to her younger sister for preschool - kindergarten.
