Perfect backpack for my 4 year old granddaughter. It's well made, has a great design and plenty of pockets and reflectors. I'm so glad it has a water bottle pocket now (the old model did not). My granddaughter feels very grown up having her own back pack with her name n it.

I had a back pack from LLBean when I was in school that lasted 12 years. So I knew that's what I would invest in for my kids. My daughter's bag is on its 3rd year and still looks and functions like brand new. This will hopefully get my son through elementary school. He loves it!

I had an LLBean backpack all through grade school- which was over 30 years ago!- And I still use it sometimes. Bought a red one for my daughter when she started school and now this alligator (crocodile?) print for my son who's starting preschool. It accommodates a regular sized 2-pocket folder without overwhelming his 3.5yo frame. Nowadays kids carry water bottles with them during the school day, so the water bottle pocket is a nice feature that my pack didn't have. If I could add something it would be a device sleeve at the back of the main compartment- in addition to water bottles, kids now have tablets+. Oh, and more color options in this Junior size.

Perfect size for early elementary kids. Needed a bag that wasn't too big, but also had the correct dimensions big enough to fit standard 8.5x11 paper/ folders/ books, headphones, a water bottle, and a lunch box. This bag fits that need. Easily fits his papers and books. Headphones fit nicely in the middle pocket (bigger front pocket). It has a very small front pocket that I'm sure my son is going to find a use for. The middle pocket has a good organization suite for pencils etc., and a key ring holder. The main compartment isn't padded and DOES NOT have a tablet sleeve, but the space to fit a tablet or small laptop is there if it has its own protector. You should be able to fit a good 2 inches worth of paper materials/ folders/ tablets as well and a lunch box. (4 inches of paper/ folders/ tablets fit without a lunch box). But too much paper and weight will become a problem for your kid fast, so 4 inches of paper supplies in this bag is not something I'd recommend. If you need that kind of space consider sizing up. Although I don't see a need for a designated jacket space in a school backpack, I know this is important for some people. In this bag you might be able to squeeze a light windbreaker in with your other school supplies depending on what else you put in the bag, but any jacket is going to be a tight fit with books etc. If a jacket being stored in the bag is important to you then you might need to make plans for the lunchbox, (and/or) books/papers not being stored in this bag at the same time as a jacket. A heavy jacket won't fit in this bag with school supplies. If you need all these items to fit in a bag at the same time then I recommend sizing up. The side drink pocket is well sized for any sports bottle. Honestly, for a kindergartener or 1st grader I don't think you'll find a better bag. It's a good manageable size for 4-7yr olds, and I expect it to meet all our needs for the next 2 years. I used to design backpacks, so quality of parts and materials is something I look at carefully. From what I've seen I like the design choices on this bag. The zipper sizes, materials, stitches, and seams all scream mid to high range quality. Not something usually seen in the low price point ranges. This bag is manufactured well, and offers a lot of quality features for 30 dollars! I fully recommend this to anyone with a kid 4-7yrs old that needs to carry standard paper sized school supplies.

We love the safety features of this backpack as well as all the compartments. My daughter liked picking out her favorite pattern out of the available options!

LOVE THIS BACK PACK! Fits my 3yr old great and it will carry him thru until he no longer likes crocks! Lol. We monogrammed with a bright yellow and it was perfect!

These were tried and true for my kids when they were in school. Now it's the grandkids turn. Should last many years until he needs a bigger one.

Purchased this for my 4-year-old, it's a great size for him to grow into him. He is very proud to carry it!

I purchased a back pack for each of my three grand daughters. The twins are nine years old and they were so exicited that this means a return to in person school in August. The younger grand daughter thinks she is just as important as her two older sisters and loves her back pack. The quality is excellent, the service was great and three little girls are sooo, happy!

Ordered the flower backpack for my daughter she starts in kindergarten in the fall it's a beautiful print and came in fast too.

Love the size which is perfect for a toddler, the durable and easy to keep clean material, the design and the print of the planets and the stars! I find very practical that the straps that land on the shoulders are wide and cushioned!!! Thanks again LLBean!

Ordered this backpack for my 2 year old son. I ordered his name in yellow and it turned out SO CUTE. It's nice to finally have an option for my son that isn't a dinosaur! I grew up on L.L.Bean backpacks so I know I've purchased a product that will last!
