The shape , with narrow waist, even as I ordered up a size, doesn't allow for anything other than one layer beneath it.

I purchased this raincoat to replace one that I had for 20 years. I was very disappointed. The material is very lightweight and does not feel like it would last for 20 years. The fit is slim, and it has an elastic tie at the waist - this should be designed to wear over layers of clothing, so a looser fit would make sense and the elastic has toggles at the end which are not attractive. It definitely isn't worth the price.

It really is waterproof, but its exterior is 100% nylon, and too thin for any warmth. The "breathable" vents might be an asset in hot weather, but the zipper is temperamental, a real downer for a garment this pricey. I bought it for downpours and its good looks, which is hard to find in a waterproof jacket. But the looks do not extend to the hood, which fits tight to the head. My chief complaint is what it's made of: petroleum. You feel like you're wearing a plastic bag, which isn't far from the truth.

I'm sorry to have to return this otherwise beautiful coat. BUT, as with other retailers, the coat is designed fo fit women with "Barbie shoulders". The coat had plenty of room. and to my delight the sleeves were plenty long. Except for the shoulders! When I tried to raise my arms, it felt like a straight jacket.

I wear 8-10 in most everything. This M says 10-12 but is very trim in cut. I have hips but not overly large and the jacket strained across that area. Would not be able to wear a sweater layer.
Also, the zipper is a bit stickety.

Ill fitting. Did not like the material. Returned it. Instead of refund, we got an L.L Bean credit. Dissatisfied with the entire process. Disappointed with L.L Bean.

This raincoat was a sad surprise coming from llbean where I expect consistent sizing and good quality. This coat feels and looks cheap. It fits poorly and is not worth the money.

I liked the style of this coat but the zipper did not work well and there were no other closures. I returned the jacket.

Not for the buxom. Nuf said. (sizing up would only make it sloppy everywhere else)

Not the quality I expected. The wrist snaps dont snap easily and even when snapped to make it as small as possible its still too loose. The jacket only has a zipper .. no snaps to close it. When an arm is extended the shoulder pulls. I am returning it.

love the style of the coat and weight, but it is cut very narrow through the waist and the zipper was just like a plastic thing and didnt open smoothly. The reviews repeatedly mentioned a poor quality zipper and they weren't wrong!

Very disappointed in the fit--same size I have been getting for years--very tight over hips and thighs and I have actually lost 10 lbs. Zipper seemed like cheap plastic and hard to engage at the start.

I bought this for traveling. It would have been perfect but the zipper has gotten stuck (really stuck) almost every time I unzip it. At the TSA checkpoint in an airport, I had to climb out of it because the zipper was so stuck! I'm taking it back and I'm very disappointed. Everything else about it was great.

You took a very nice rain jacket and put a horrible zipper on it. I never had to return an item from LLBean in the past. This coat was very disappointing.

I had already bought the Cresta Stretch Rain Jacket Women's in the beautiful Cascade Blue. But I wasn't sure about it because how short it is. So, I ordered the Meridian Rain Coat to compare. When I received the Meridian, it did not feel/look at all as it appeared in the photo. That's the difficulty with ordering things online, and not being about to see and feel them before buying.
I found the Meridian Rain Coat to be a tad tight in the hips, and the material just felt downright flimsy. I knew I was never going to want to wear it, so back it went. So, I'll stick with the Cresta rain coat, along with my pair of LL Bean Rain Pants. With the LL Bean MasterCard, I appreciate being able to order things and return them without an extra fee.

LL Bean seems to have cheaped out on this one, perhaps by making the sizing a bit smaller than usual, and by not having a full YKK zipper - the top half of the zipper seems to be cheap and likely to break. Returned.

Purchased larger to fit over sweater. Crackly plastic-like thin material, cheap plastic zipper sticks every time. No way to secure hood keeps falling down, definitely not the quality I expect from LL Bean especially for the price. Very disappointed. Returned immediately.

Love the design and fit of this coat. But I wasn't prepared for the really loud crackle sound of the fabric - nor was I expecting a completely waterproof "fabric" which would be way too hot and humid for me to wear.

I read reviews about the zipper on this raincoat and thought I might have better luck as it is stylish and waterproof. However, I immediately had problems and sadly returned it.
