True to size but would suggest sizing up if you plan to layer over heavier sweater. I purchased the lavender color in medium - but returned for large which fits great! The color is so pretty and fabric is soft and super comfy - love the longer length!

I've been looking for a long vest with some shape to it. Saw a women wearing this recently and just had to order it. I'm 5', 115 lbs with a small waist and athletic hips/thighs. The Petite XS fits beautifully! Just the right length to cover my backside and the stretch panels create a flattering shape. Nice double zipper. The hood does have adjustments. I can imagine I'll be wearing this all fall and into the spring over leggings, base layers and slim jeans. Nice!!

Finally a vest for tall gals! I'm 5'11" and this vest is great. Size M fits a thick sweatshirt underneath. I like the hood too.

I love this vest! I like that the collar is separate from the hood so I can zip it up and closes nicely if a little cool outside. It is super comfortable with nice big pockets that my cell phone completely fits into and the double zipper up the front is a must. I walk in this vest almost daily and love that I can zip from the bottom up and the top down when it gets warm. If feel you are between sizes, you should size down. I have an athletic build with a bit of a bum so some brands are too snug around the hips. The fabric panel is stretchy, but even without the stretch, the medium was slightly roomy, but very comfortable. It hits just right on the thigh so I can still get into my SUV without it hanging up on my upper leg. PLUS, it is machine washable - I highly recommend!

Love the longer length, i bought a medium petite, there's enough room for a couple of lighter, longer layers underneath, I like the option of having a hood

It looks good. I love the long length, double zipper, side panels, hood, navy color, and light weight. It's great with my Luna jacket for the perfect between season jacket. The double zippers are good for getting the right fit in any situation and the panels also give it some flexibility with fit and motion. I think this will get a lot of wear with a sweater or with a light weight jacket. And it's getting me through the pandemic in style on my daily walks.

This vest is light & comfortable. Its zipper works easily every time. The pockets are spacious & easy to access. The black side panels weren't my favorite feature when the vest arrived, but now I see that they make it form-fitting which keeps out cool breezes. It's long enough to cover most shirts. The navy is a nice neutral color. In short, I'm very well pleased with the vest, wearing it parts of almost every Winter day since I got it. A very functional item.

Finally a vest that doesn't hit your belly button! This vest is full of quality! Wind-proof, thin, stylish, comfortable and provides a nice shape. I absolutely love this purchase!

Nice weight, great to wear with leggings when you need a bit extra coverage.

Love, love this vest! Saw it on a woman, noticed it was from LLBean and went to the store within days. Got the blue and have paired it with warmer tops to eliminate wearing a coat on warmer winter days. So light weight and very flattering. I agree with others that it would be nice to have the hood removable, but it didn't bother me at all. Made for us tall women!

I am pleased with this long vest. It is very warm and very light weight. I am able to wear a bulky top underneath without it being tight. Very happy with this purchase.

I love this vest but I am returning it for a regular large. The regular XL was too big. My measurements are 45 hips,38 waist,44 bust. I wear an extra large or sometimes a 2xl in a lot of clothes so I was surprised that this fit big. I don't like my clothes tight either but this vest has the stretchy sides so it should be somewhat form fitting. It was huge under my arms and stuck out and when I tried it in with a thick hoodie it was still really big. I had about 2" of extra room all around. The length coved my butt perfectly. If your in between sizes I would definitely go down a size. I plan on wearing this with thick sweaters and hoodies under it and I still needed to downsize.

I love this vest. I have been looking for a long, thin but warm vest for a long time. I love the stretchy side panels. I LOVE that I can throw this on over ski and running tights. Its really a perfect layer. Super cute. I do like the hood but I think it should be attached fully and get rid of the collar. It looks like the hood would be removable but its not. Just a minor but slightly odd feature. Small is a really nice fit.

It's nice and long so one can wear it covering the backside for leggings, etc. These vests are great; I have them in the black and blue. The side stretch panels make for a more fluid movement for moving around or sitting in the car. The fabric and insulation is very warm without being bulky or too hot. I'm tall in the torso and the regular small was perfect in the length. They're a very well thought out design.

This is an elegant solution to a little warmth without a bulkier jacket. I bought a medium because I knew I would not be wearing anything super-warm underneath and could sustain the medium sizing. (Normally I would buy a large for an outer layer because of my shoulders.) I also purchased the longer length although I found the difference for the additional $20 to be < 1" 'on paper'. (Was hoping the measurements were wrong.) A high price for a down vest but worth it.

I just got this and don't want to take it off! It's very flattering and I love the length! Being 5'9 and not skinny, it's hard to find a vest that is long enough and doesn't make me look fluffy. This covers my belly and my butt. It's nice and warm too. I hate wearing a coat at the airport but you need to have something with you in case you get chilly. This will go on every trip with me in the future! I am going to Amsterdam in Early September, and will look sharp in this vest when it cools down in the evening. If I don't need it, no problem, it packs small!

I really like this vest. It is the perfect length and adds warmth without bulk. I can wear it over a shirt indoors to stay warmer, or add a water-proof jacket over it for outdoors in the rain; my rain jacket is nice but not quite warm enough, so this is the perfect compromise. It is actually flattering in appearance; I would have never considered wearing a "puffer" vest or jacket because I didn't want to look like a marshmallow. I find the history of the development of Primaloft fascinating (look it up) and am glad to have found this garment, which I got in black. Be aware that the blue one has weird and unattractive black panels on the sides; these barely show at all on the black vest.

I love this vest! Long enough that I can wear leggings and not worry about my backside. Warm but not too warm. My new weekend uniform - leggings and long sleeve T, vest and tennies!

This is by far the best vest I have ever owned. Hard to find a long vest for tall women but this provides it all! Quality, length and style. Wish there were more colors and I'd buy them all!

I love this hooded vest. I wore it over Christmas Holiday in North Carolina in the cool weather and I loved it. It kept the core of my body comfortably warm and I truly enjoyed the comfort of the vest. I am so glad I purchased this product from LL Bean.

Even though its a vest, it keeps me pretty warm in my chilly office. It is also attractive and the extra length covers more.
