This is a lovely vest BUT I bought the exact same size last year but this new vest has really large armpits that stick out. I wear a petite XS so I can't purchase a smaller vest. I'll keep it but it doesn't look as good as last year's version.

The Mountain Fleece vest is soft, warm, comfortable and fits well. Unfortunately, there are no inner pockets as in previously purchased Beans fleece vests, nor is there a zippered vertical chest pocket (as in the men's version) that would be a great place to keep a phone, or credit cards and ID.

I really miss the classic WindStopper fleece vests. The fleece on those was a nice tight weave and they had interior pockets. This fleece is a looser weave and has no interior pockets. I got the Sienna Brick because I really wanted an orange vest. It's not quite as orange as I hoped, but it's not really salmon, either. It's sort of a light persimmon. I got the regular medium and it fits as well as my older Bean windstopper vests, which are also in medium. I'm just shy of 5'3" and weigh about 125; athletic (swimmer) build. But please, if any LL Bean product people look at these reviews, please bring back that amazing windstopper fleece AND the interior pockets on your vests. I would give this vest a 3.5, but rounded up to 4 because it's well made and I like the slanted pockets.

I ordered the Sienna Brick hoping for the rich color in the catalogue. I checked it out on my phone, my ipad and a computer and the color was the same on all devices. I did this knowing that different monitors can distort colors. In reality this is very muted and not what I was looking for however I kept it because I love everything else about it. I am 5'4 and 144lbs. Ordered a large and it is perfect for my purpose, with a flannel shirt or light weight sweater under it. Would have given 5 starts if the color was right. May consider buying the purple one a little later.

Great length for my size. Wish it were a little more tight fighting, though, as the closer fit would provide. Little more warmth. Love the deep pockets and overall look.

I was and am excited to have fleece vest that is not the heavier sherpa style in petite. Both are hard to find. I do agree with previous reviews, the black is not really black, maybe dark charcoal and in some lights looks bluish. It almost looks faded. I am also not a fan of the zipper pulls which I changed, the overprominent patch now removed, and the horizontal seam in the back. I am keeping it because it fits although those few changes would have made it a 5 star. I was disappointed that the colors in petite were not as interesting as the one that has green, navy etc in Regular fit.

I own this vest in nautical navy from a previous year's purchase. Decided to purchase again in sienna brick color. Size XS is a nice, close fit, which I like to wear over long sleeve tees or turtlenecks for warmth. However, the sienna brick is NOT the pretty orange-pumpkin color shown online and in the Bean printed catalog. It is a dirty, faded orange color, which isn't very appealing to me. The vest itself is a nice item, but because of this color, I'm returning it.

Beautiful vest with nice pockets and detail. It's shorter than other vests I own and it's fitted. So if you plan to wear it over a thick sweater, you may need the next size up or to get a different vest. I wear this to work and with casual jeans. I love the color.

I am really enjoying this vest. It is light but warm and I love the color. I usually purchase tall sizes but find this to be a nice length. It would be a little dressier without the brown accent on the zipper pull and prominent LLBean tag. But overall I love the vest and am very happy with the purchase.

I totally love this vest it is comfortable and warm, love the high collar keeps you warm around the neck, the only downside is it does not have an inside pocket. Otherwise it is super comfortable to have on.

Cozy, warm, love the rich color. I bought a large, and have had many large LL Bean vests before. It is baggy under the arms. I kept it, but would buy a medium another time. I usually buy large vests, so much forgiveness and I did not want it tight around the hips. I am 5'4", 145 lbs.

This vest runs bigger; I expected it to be form-fitting for warmth. The XS is roomy on me. It does wash and dry nicely.

Vest feels good, fits well. I removed the bright orange pulls. Wish the label was smaller, or better yet, inside the vest. Left off the last star because it was called black but really it is a very dark charcoal. I hoped for black.

I like this vest for warmth and coziness and look. Just a little snug across the chest, otherwise very good.

The vest is a beautiful blue color and meets my needs. I have worn it a lot since I received it. It adds a nice layer of warmth over a flannel shirt or turtleneck. I really like the style. But there are a couple of features that nag at me every time I wear it. One thing is that the right side of the vest side seems to fit better than the left. The arm hole seems to be just a little larger on one side than the other. I've never experienced that, and I own many vests. The thing I noticed most is that the collar is uncomfortable. It stands up a little too high and thick. The material is not as flexible as the other fleece that I own. Normally I just fold down the collar if it's a little too tall or uncomfortable. This collar will not fold down. Another issue that I have is that the vest is a little shorter than I would like. But I know that if I bought the regular length, it would be far too long for me. Bottom line for me is that I'll keep the vest, but I won't buy another.

I really like the length of this vest, and the colorful zipper pull, etc. However, the things I don't like is that it started getting kind of picked areas on the fleece right away, and also the collar doesn't lie down flat. It's a good option for colder weather.

I really really miss the two "bonus" inside pockets created by the pocket bag that are on my older llbean vests and jackets. This design has a horizontal seam above the pocket and the pocket bag is stitched to it eliminating the bonus inside pockets. I use the outside pockets for my hands. Phone, keys, etc feel safer in those former inside pockets. Yes, the pockets zip for security however my hands are in there. Fortunately I sew and created my own inside pockets but that is a lot of work for what I expected to already be a part of the vest. Hopefully llbean will rethink the design of this vest and consider functionality important.

Overall it's well made but if you're on the tall side it's just too short. It hit me just below the waist so it didn't work for me. Buying a larger size would not have helped the length issue. It fit well otherwise.

Just enough of an extra layer to keep me cozy around the house this winter. I do wish that it did not have a collar, competing with my shirt collar and pushing up at the back of my hair though.

Too big, with too large arm-holes. Collar doesn't lay down well. Not as nice as a previous llbean vest!
