This jacket is good in moderate weather but below freezing needs a warm sweater underneath. It has a great hood which is nice when the wind starts up or it snows. The pockets are a good size for cell phone, keys, etc.
I have worn it when it is below freezing and after walking a few minutes I am toasty warm so it is good for long brisk walks in winter. It is very lightweight which is nice. I would buy another if this one wears out.

Having owned many winter jackets, this one has proved to be the best. It travels everywhere I go and in 3 of the 4 seasons. On cape cod to the mountains in Maine. This season we've had a lot of wind and this jacket kept me warm so I could be outside.
One thing would be to enlarge the sleeve width a bit.

Love the jacket with hood. I have the green and also the red one. That's how much I like this jacket.

This is a great jacket for travel. Great for the chilly airplane because the jacket's fabric is not bulky, and I could fold it into its pocket when I was done with it and stow it in my bag. When I took it out later, it wasn't wrinkled at all & popped right back to shape. The sleeves and hood edges are elasticized, not adjustable bands or drawstring, but they fit well and have room for gloves or layers. The ample hood provides excellent coverage; if you have a small head you might even wear it over a cap. I love the length; it covers the booty just right. The blue green color is so pretty and just like the pictures shown.
The jacket is NOT as warm as my other heavier winter coats. Yes it is effective for wind resistance and snow/rain repellency, but if it's 30 degrees or colder I wear warm layers (wool or fleece) underneath. Because it's a thin jacket, I have also worn it UNDER my other winter jacket in cold, windy, freezing temps and, wow, that works super well. So it's going to be great for snowshoeing, because it's versatile. That's the main reason I bought it, but now I'm wearing it all the time! My husband wants one now, too. They are spendy, but I waited for a sale and feel that sale price was a fair value.

This jacket is perfect and the description in the book and on line were exact. I still cannot believe how light it is and the warmth it provides. Will be purchasing the long coat as soon as my size becomes available once again.

I'm size 12, short-waisted 32" waist 41" hips and ordered the Medium in Red Currant. Fits perfect with light sweater. Color is bright like compass red but not fluorescent. Hits bottom of rearend so covers my entire backside. Very lightweight very warm without overheating. Attractive on the way the quilting is arranged so I don't look like a sack. Arms are a little long but have elastic ends that aren't too tight. Hood fits perfect screening your complete head without obstructing your view. Hood does flop a bit in the back but can be easily flattened down. Zippers work great but are one way. 2-way would have been nice. Inside zipped pocket with slot for earbuds This is slim fit so is snug but not form fitting. Haven't washed yet so don't know how that will handle. Exactly what I was looking for. So tired of blah brown gray olive jackets. I believe I will wear this 3 season.

I am very surprised at how lightweight but warm this jacket is! The fit is roomy and it is fine over a bulky top. It has deep pockets, a useful hood that can be snugged tight in windy conditions and a heavy duty zipper that works well. I like the Quarry gray color with the bright canary yellow trim and lining - it's cheery on a gray winter day! This will be my go-to jacket for the rest of the winter and will also be perfect for traveling in cool or cold weather.

A great jacket with a hood and lots of pockets.
And it folds up in itself.
And the jaceck is pretty warm.

My daughter loves this jacket.
It kept her warm and dry shoveling snow.
It folded away neatly for a long museum trip and then opened up to keep her warm on the historic walk.
I have now ordered one for me.

I've been wearing this jacket for my cold morning runs and I love it. It was not marketed as a running jacket but for me it has worked out well.
It has lots of pockets. It keeps me warm on 20 degree windy days. Its comfortable and stylish.
Thanks LL Bean!

Hard to believe that something so light can be so warm. Was worried about the sizing but fit perfect. Couldn't be happier.

This is a surprisingly comfortable jacket. My only suggestion would be a two way zipper on the front to open from the bottom when having to sit for extended periods.

This jacket is exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted a lightweight winter jacket with a hood that I could wear over a light vest and this is perfect. Got the Medium so I fits easily over a layer and yet if I wear it alone it's not too baggy or loose. Warm and wind resistant, I live in the Rockies, -15's the norm in Jan & Feb, would highly recommend this jacket. Love the color as well, very rich blue.

This jacket is very light and comfortable and mostly keeps me warm. I was a tad bit disappointed in the lack of a metallic style liner, which I think would boost the overall warmth of the jacket. Still, as long as I am moving and generating some body heat, I feel comfortable and warm which was just what the jacket advertised to be.
I appreciate that the fit allows me to wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath.

Love this jacket and great for any occasion. Lightweight but warm. I ordered a Size L for a bit of extra room and it allows room for a heavy sweater underneath but does not look too big at all. I ordered the red currant color and it is bright and vibrant. I have a similar jacket but wanted this one since it has the hood on it and great for lightly falling snow or a rain shower. Good quality jacket and it has already gotten lots of use. Highly recommend.

I was looking for a lightweight, modern jacket that I could wear over a fleece sweater, and this is perfect. There isn't much insulation stuffing, so if that's what you want look at something more robust. You're not going to be comfortable wearing this over just a T-shirt if it's below about 50 degrees. The Red Currant color is kind of pink, and bright, but I don't mind even though my husband doesn't like it. I like the fact that it will pack down small, so it will be great for travel. By the way, I have a LL Bean H2No parka that I bought in 2002 at a LL Bean outlet for $25, which is still in very good shape and I still wear it all the time! It's a cold weather workhorse but this new jacket is replacing it for date night or daytime activities with friends.

I live in the Rocky Mountains of CO and even though I don't ski, I hike and walk trails -trying every day to get my exercise. I could not believe this coat. It weighs nothing so when I received it in the mail, I thought to myself this is never going to work...but doe it ever. I went out yesterday with the wind-chill factor at 20 degrees and I was comfortably warm. My legs were the only thing on me that got cold so today I ordered the women's underwear. Thanks so much for this good product that does what it says it will.

I got this primaloft packable jacket in petite XS in china blue, which is really beautiful! I love the trim fit and the hood that stays put due to the elastic. This is a less boxy, more feminine look than many similar jackets. I love it!

This jacket was on back order so I had to wait awhile but I'm glad I was patient. I love the blue color. The xl fits with room to spare for layering. This is my go to jacket most days. It's not bulky and it is warm enough for 30 + degrees. For temperatures below that, I wear the packable longer down coat , which is also very comfortable and warm without the bulk.

This jacket is warm enough for low 30's upper 20's here in North Carolina and works well for chillier days and nights with a sweater underneath. I haven't had an opportunity to travel with it yet but it appears very packable. Just what I was looking for to keep me warm for outdoor activities and everyday use.

I am a downhill skier and I needed a jacket light weight but warm. This is it. It packed away in my suitcase well and did not take up a lot of room. Perfect color, perfect jacket.
