Great jacket, well made, comfortable. I've bought one for my kids and my husband. It's great for cold day hikes and fall, warm winter and early spring days in Washington DC. Very happy w this purchase. Well worth the price

This is a great jacket with awesome features but fits somewhat smaller than the "medium" that is perfect for me in other L.L.Bean clothing I've purchased. Would suggest one size up for this jacket. Beautifully made.

I have had this jacket for two years, and I love it. I wear it all winter in the Bay Area, except during weather below freezing. Walking the dog, bird watching, running errands, hiking, gardening. It is so light, so warm, and is windproof. Also stands up to a drizzle. Throw it in the washer and dryer, and it's good as new. I love having the breast pocket to tuck in my valuables and phone. And when I travel, I stuff it its pocket and toss it in my suitcase. In harder rain, a waterproof shell fits right over it. A great jacket for this climate, though maybe not warm enough for colder places.

Packed the jacket for travel to Germany and ended up sharing it with my sister. She now wants to buy one! Thanks LL Bean for a lightweight jacket that is warm and travels well.

The coat is incredibly warm and comfortable. It is also very light weight. All the warmth without the bulk. I love the zip up pocket on the inside. The hood fits snugly and won't blow off in the wind.

You won't believe how warm this silky lighter than my gloves jacket is. I ordered a Medium Petite and it's just right! Not a load of extra sleeve and it hits me right at my hip. I didn't believe the temperature range but so far so good. Low 20's and still pleasantly comfortable. I have a very low thyroid so I'm cold more than not and was pleasantly surprised at how warm I was with so little on! It has a silky hand with plenty of real useful pockets so seldom found in women's wear. The silhouette is also nice and I don't look like a fireplug but am remarkably warm! Hood is also perfect and not too much overhanging into my eyes! A friend has already purchased one and I'm considering a second just to have as backup! Great job with this one! Many thanks!

I purchased this coat a few weeks ago and can't tell you how much I love it. It's so thin and lightweight that it's hard to believe how warm it is. I recommended this coat to a friend who purchased it and she agrees. Every time I put this coat on, I think to myself how much I love it. This coat is unbelievably warm, lightweight, is very well constructed and has well thought out pocket placement. What more could one ask for?!!

I love this coat! I was looking for something that kept me warm but wasn't too bulky. This is perfect. It's super lightweight but still keeps me warm in 40 degree weather.

Very nice jacket. Materials and craftsmanship were excellent. True to size. I like my thinner jackets to have a little room for layering and this was the perfect fit.

Got this jacket to have on hand while traveling to Seattle in October. I love the pack-ability of this jacket and it wears like a light weight jacket. It was SUPER warm and light and held up in the Seattle rain. The hood has a feature that helps it stay in place and is deep enough to wear a hat etc with it. I loved the blue color but went with the green and I believe any color would be fabulous. Great product!

I bought this packable in a 3X in the long version last year. I was afraid I'd feel like a marshmallow in it, and instead it became my #1 staple. Warm, not hot. Packable indeed. This year I ordered the 3X again. WAY TOO BIG. Sigh. This year's 2X fits like last year's 3X (in the long version). Go figure.

I am 5'4" and weigh 135lbs. I ordered a small but it was too tight. I returned the small for a medium and it fits much better. Today I had recess duty and it was 45 degrees. This coat kept me comfortably warm and kept the dampness out...plus, another teacher complimented how cute the coat looked. I would definitely recommend this coat, however, order a size up.

My sons have worn similar jackets for years. Why did I wait so long! Feels lighter than expected, but also warmer than expected.

I bought this for outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, snowshoeing. I needed something warmer than fleece and not as warm as down. This is perfect. Have used at about 15 degrees comfortably with only a base layer underneath. So lightweight and packable. This was a great purchase for my needs.

Love this jacket ! Warm and very lightweight and it is perfect for cold mornings and is great for driving in the car without a lot of bulk to contend with. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, and wouldn't wear it in a downpour, but think it would suffice. The only suggestion I would make is that LL Bean make it a few inches longer. If it came in the same length as the Primaloft vest #TA505280 which I also own, it would be perfect. Some of my LLBean sweaters are longer than the jacket, which detract from the look.

This will be my "grab and go" jacket this winter. It's very warm and extremely light weight.
It's not too hot while driving. It's very easy to move around in--non restrictive. I would definitely recommend this product.

This jacket is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. I love the zippered pockets, the elastic on the sleeves, and the cozy hood. I really like the forest green color which blends in when camping in the woods. I wear this as a daily jacket, on long cycling commutes, and around the house (we keep it chilly). It packs very easily and is super lightweight. This jacket isn't waterproof but it IS water resistant and will keep you warm in a drizzle. I like that it stays warm even when wet, which is not something I can say about my LLBean down jacket. And it dries super fast. The nylon shell is thin but somehow survives my cat's razor sharp claws, and it also sheds pet hairs--nothing clings to it. There's no pilling of the fabric either inside or out. It's very easy to wash and dry. This jacket is a winner. If I could add one thing it would be a few reflective details for nighttime safety.

I bought the jacket for a late fall trip to Russia and Scandinavia. I needed easy to pack yet warm. It did not disappoint at all. Packing was a dream. The pouch fit in my carry on! The weather was in the 30's and 40's with some rainy and windy days. So light weight I over layered and got too warm the first day! Protected me from wind and light rain perfectly. Lots of pockets to keep my stuff while walking around. Now that I'm back in Texas I'm finding it light enough to wear on our cool rainy days. I bought mine bigger so I could layer up for extra cold if needed but might not have been necessary. I don't like tight jackets so it's worked out great anyway. I'd say it's true to size. It's my new go to jacket for everything! Great investment with LL Bean quality!!

I initially purchased the 2X which is my normal clothing size, but it was a bit snug. I was able to zip the jacket but I wouldn't have been able to wear a sweater or anything. I returned and got the 3X which is very roomy and fits great. It's a great lightweight jacket that is surprisingly warm despite how light it is. The first time I wore it was on the soccer field during my daughter's soccer practice and all the moms were freezing and I was very comfortable. I also love the hood. Most hoods flop over and it's hard to see; this fits perfectly. I have a lengthy commute to work and I was looking for a jacket that would keep me comfortable in varying temps while not being too bulky and this is perfect - it keeps me warm while waiting for the train in the morning and I can pack it up and throw it in my backpack easily when it's warm in the afternoon. It's the perfect jacket for the New England Fall weather!!

Love this jacket...definitely my go to all winter long. Perfect for in and out of the car. Only one drawback... bring back the slightly longer version (mid thigh)...absolute best!

This jacket was perfect for my camping trip in northern Maine. Lightweight, warm and waterproof. I was very glad for the hood when it rained. I'm delighted with this purchase!

I have been looking for years for a fall jacket to replace a 20+ year old favorite worn to a rag. I may have been too fussy, but I couldn't find anything, until now, that would suit me. I live in far northern Wisconsin and walk early in the morning. Temps are often in the 40's this time of year and I wanted something with a hood that was comfortable and not to bulky. This jacket is light as a cloud, fits well and I like the elasticized hood opening. I look forward to wearing it for a long time to come!
