I love this jacket. Light weight but plenty warm for me. Wanted the marine blue but was not in stock so went with gun metal gray which was 2nd choice. Will purchase in blue in the fall/winter. Slightly fitted so I wet up a size. I agree with another reviewer who wrote that a two way zipper would be a great addition for when sitting. .

Got frustrated trying to buy a lightweight packable. All that I tried were cut for someone with slim to no hips I am not overweight, have a lean figure but it is a mature figure and everything was too tight around my backside & arms were too long (even the big-name expensive brands). Grew up in New Hampshire going to the L.L. Bean store at least once a year so I decided to order Pimaloft Packaway in petite and the fit is absolute perfection! I live in Florida so I haven't been able to try in really cold weather yet. I still have an L.L. Bean jacket & vest that are 10 & 20+ years old & have been through the washer and dryer frequently and are still in great condition so I am confident that when we pull these packables out of our camper when we get cold weather that I will be comfortable. Comfort & serviceability were my first concerns, but it helps that the jacket is gorgeous as well

I love this jacket! Features I love: 1) Material is so light weight and nice to the touch. 2) elastic cuffs that fit over my heavy gloves. 3) adjustable elastic bottom to keep the cold out and give the jacket a little more shape. 4). The hood is wonderful. I actually can still see when I put the hood up. 5) great pockets & storage. 6) the color (silver blue) is gorgeous. I generally find the LLBean clothing runs smaller than other things I buy. I normally wear a 1X at largest in plus sizes and usually XL in misses. I ordered a 2X in plus sizes and it fits the way I want it. I want plenty of room for sweaters, hoodies, sweatshirts etc underneath my coat. The size is perfect without being too big. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I do not like things even slightly snug and probably wear my clothes a little bigger than most.

I purchased 2 of these jackets. Great for travel, biking and went with me on trip to Antarctica! Also took my LL Bean backpack and extra large zipped luggage tote.

This is my go-to winter coat. It's light but warm enough for most of my needs. If you want to wear something more than a light sweater under it, I'd go up a size.

I never thought this super thin jacket could ever keep me warm. Boy was I wrong! I wore it in the Great Smokey mountains and was kept warm as can be! I only wish that the gloves came in coordinating colors rather than just black.

I absolutely love this jacket. I have the "original" in black. It DOES MELT if you get near a fire or stove. I have done that and gotten holes in the jacket. I was so sad I almost cried. So my black has a hole and it will be my extra coat. I couldn't justify the high price again because of my stupid mistake, so I got the berry color, reduced. I love the color! It is not as bright as on my computer. It is purplish and is just lovely. Of all the products I own, this is one of the best. Every time I put it on, I am so pleased and can't believe how much I LOVE LOVE this coat. Warm, practical, packs, not bulky. I can't say enough good things. My husband has one and my sister-in-law and best friend because I "sell" this coat to everyone! Well worth the full price for your first! If you have the original, older style, this one is better. Longer (covers my bum) and has more pockets. Did I say I LOVE it???

This jacket did disappoint. The fit was generously true to size in the shoulders and waist. Easily pack-able, warm, but light weight. Looking forward to winter hiking to test the durability and water resistance.

Excellent quality, plenty of well positioned and deep pockets, works as a super insulator -IF you are active and generate heat the primaloft keeps the heat in. Looks great on, and comes in good colors. The only problem is that it is not waterproof, and the waterproof primaloft jacket has lost all the pockets and fit that makes this one so perfect. Who makes these decisions.? I would buy the waterproof one in a heartbeat if it had all the features of this one. That said, I have one of these without a hood and now one with a hood. I got a Large in order to do extra layering underneath as I live in Colorado and ski and hike outdoors where a little more warmth is needed. .

I love this jacket. It is thin, but very warm.
It is stylish and the color matched the pictures in their catalog completely. It is waterproof and fits perfectly. I highly recommend it.

I live by the shore of Lake Erie and I bought this jacket to wear in all weather. It is best in 30's, 40,s and even 50's. I would not wear it in seriously cold weather for walking by the lake...I have a heavier coat I wear for that. This is so light weight and yet warm. Has 3 zipped pockets on the outside and one on the inside so I can carry my phone, ID, money. I especially love this for wearing to the store...may be awful outside but it is too hot inside wearing a heavy coat. Love hiking in it because it is so light weight. I am not dragged down. I love the marine blue color. In the past some jackets I have from LLBean were mediums. I thought they might run large but I checked out the measurement chart which indicated I should buy a large. It fits perfectly. And I don't look bulky or fat!!! If you are my size and want to wear a heavy sweatshirt or sweater under it size up.

This is the second one I have purchased. This should say it all. I have used it for just about everything and now my old one is always in my hiking pack.

Very comfortable jacket. Perfect weight for doing outdoor activities on a cool/cold day. Love it when going for my daily brisk walk unless the temp is super cold and cloudy.warm enough even on cold days if layered with a sweater or vest. Arms tie easily around my waist if I get too warm. I have 2 of these jackets.

This jacket is my third coat/jacket from LLBean and I have loved every one of them. This jacket, however, is my favorite. Warm light weight, very comfortable. Perfect for my primary outdoor activity during Covid -- walking our standard poodle. Extremely pleased with the purchase and would buy it again.

I bought this to have a light weight but warm coat for snow shoeing or taking the dog on hikes. Its been in the low 40s and I've been wearing it over a tank top and have been on the warm side of comfortable while walking. I have very broad shoulders and a large chest, the large fits well with room for a sweater or flannel under if needed. It has the loose fit I wanted while still having a nice shape. I also like the length, it dips down enough in front and back that I feel comfortable wearing it with leggings. Lots of pockets and great color!

I absolutely love this coat. It is very comfortable to wear when I drive. Warm and very good looking coat. Fits true to size. I will have to get a little warmer coat to wear for walking dog on the coldest days here in Rochester. But very toasty for about 20 degrees.

First New England winter and this is my go-to daily coat. It's SO warm and really comfortable without being bulky which I wanted to avoid just for ease of movement hopping in the car, running after my toddler, etc. Also I got the red color which is a nice rich earth tone, not too bright.

I wanted a lightweight winter coat that I can layer over a fleece vest or other heavyweight sweatshirt. It fits fantastic. This is perfect for walking but I'm going to use this during my bike rides in Ohio when weather is in the 30s. I wore it on a walk on the first day I got it. Temps was 30 and it was very warm. I love all the pockets for keys and cell phone. Draw cord keeps draft out. looking forward to wearing it when it gets colderkeep moving ladies. I'm 66 years young and enjoying my best outdoor activities ever. I'm raising my bike goal to over 1,000 miles in 2021 and I will be wearing this jacket!

It is so light weight, the first impression is that it will provide no warmth. Quite the opposite. The hood fits great - it doesn't fall in your eyes - and the jacket blocks the wind and keeps you warm. I have not worn it in really cold weather - yet- but have been wearing it in windchill 20s-30s and it has performed very well, I usually walk with a handicapped dog and we don't go very fast, so not much opportunity to build up warmth. I would anticipate that this jacket will perform very well in cold temps with a moderate level of activity. To re-emphasize - it is very light and comfortable. I love it

Bought the original PrimaLoft Packaway about five or six years ago. It has been all over the world with me, it packs so well, after so many years and so much wearing the threads are starting to break in the elbows. I bought the new version about one month ago, I really like it, it fits perfect, a little roomy so I can wear a fleece top under it. Great Rich Berry color, the length on me falls a bit below the hips, sleeves are a little long so I roll them up. Fabric is good, not sure why people complain about the noise of the fabric. I would recommend this jacket, we have had really cold weather here, in the upper twenties low thirties, I am fine with it as long as I have another layer under it.

I bought this jacket to layer over a fleece or an athletic pullover. A few years ago I bought a ladies sweater fleece jacket with a wind proof membrane in it from LLBean (terrific but you don't make anymore). I layered the sweater jacket with an inexpensive nylon jacket. Wanted something warmer but still lightweight for WI winters. At 1st I thought the new Primaloft would be too light, but it seems to be working perfect. I like that the hood stays up in wind when you need it. I like the chest pocket for phone. Also nice deep zippered pockets. Nice well-constructed jacket.

This has quickly taken over as my most work outer layer!! My favorite thing about it is the beautiful blue colors and how light it is. This jacket is perfect for a chilly fall day and is great for layering! If you are looking for something for lower temperatures I would recommend the Women's Ultralight 850 Down Hooded Jacket which I also have and works great in the winter.

I cannot state strongly enough how amazing this jacket is!!! The color is gorgeous and the fit is spectacular. It's a bit longer in the back for extra coverage. It's just the right weight for PNW late fall/early winter tempts and keeps me dry too!
I get tons of compliments on it and would recommend that you buy one!!!
No, I don't work for LL Bean, but I'm open to it
