I purchased this jacket for an upcoming Iceland trip, and it did not disappoint. It protected me from the rain and I liked the fact that the hood fits snugly around the face. It is so light and yet kept me warm. I also love the fact that it comes in so many beautiful colors! A great clothing investment, I recommend it highly.

I was looking for a medium weight fitted jacket with a hood. So glad LLBean has petites, as many brands don't. The sleeves are still a teensy bit long. I ordered and returned a small first, based on what the size chart said for my bust size. The XS is snug enough in the bust that I won't be able to wear a sweater underneath, but the S was too loose in the waist and hips. I'm ok with the XS, as I have other, warmer jackets if needed. Temp range says 35 to minus 15. I've worn it sitting at Little League games when temp was in the 50s and wind was blowing, and it kept me warm but not too warm. Not sure that it will be good to minus 15 without being able to fit a sweater underneath. All in all, I'm happy with the jacket.

So lightweight and super warm! The petite medium fits perfect and the light magenta color is stunning. The pockets are large too, big enough to hold a Samsung S9 cell phone. The hood has elastic so it stays on. A winner on all accounts! Very satisfied

I grew up with L.L. Bean products, moved to Florida as a young adult and winter clothing became some thing that I seldom needed. This year we purchased Pimaloft packaway jackets for both my husband and I So we would have something for cold weather travel in the camper. Purchased in January 2021, used a few times to walk the dogs and cooler weather but this past weekend we really use them camping in North Florida when it got really cold, at least really cold for us. I can't rave enough about how warm, lightweight, comfortable, and more these jackets were! And, we got them filthy so nasty that I was worried they would stain, but one wash and they look like new! And the pocket on the chest is perfect for cell phone and dog waste bags and anything else you need to keep handy. And the cut of the jacket is perfect- I tried on at least four other namebrand winter jackets that were cut so narrow in the hips I wouldn't of been able to even gain a pound. This one is flared out just enough to be comfortable but not too much that it looks funky - but is still very slimming (I am a size 6-8, mature figure slim enough to wear skinny jeans but definitely hippy enough not to fit into the slim cuts of other jackets). Keep the amazing products coming L.L. Bean!.

1- Loving it a few weeks in - primarily bought for shoulder season hiking, and quickly become my go-to errand jacket as well. Will pack as summer warm layer if weather looks rainy.
2 - Sleeves are a tad shorter than I'd prefer, but not as short as other LLB sleeves have been in past.
3 - Lovely silky texture, super warm considering how thin it is, packs down great to shove into a backpack.
4 - Color: I am not normally an 'orange' person, but took a chance and really like how it goes with the grey.
5 - Durability: Worn 20+ times so far, with backpacks and purses, in and out of car, dog walks in sprinkling sleet/snow and no signs of wear.
6 - Fit: As a busty plus size gal, it is a smidge large for me, I probably could have fit into a 1X, but I am happy I went with the 2X. At this size and my typical size 20 frame, I can wear over a thick sweater or fleece or under my rain jacket when I need to layer for extra waterproofness.
7 - just go get one for yourself or a loved one - a great buy!

A light weight jacket that provides great warmth and comfort!
Fitted, yet comfortable space for long sleeves inside.
May have to watch where it is "tossed" - the fabric is slippery and it easily slides off a seat to the floor.
Only one complaint - no instructions or illustrations for How to Pack-Away into its pocket. Even the video on the product description page was too brief and quick - that did not help either. I'm still trying to figure out which pocket to use, before I can try packing it in its pocket.

This coat is perfect in every way. It's very light weight and warm when you need it to be. It seems to work well as a windbreak also. Nice zipper and pockets. The blue is a beautiful color. Sporty but not overwhelmingly so. Just right. Thanks for a great product !!

This jacket was so wonderful that I ordered a second one in another color. It's warm, you can layer easily underneath and it's light weight!

The weather gets pretty cold in Michigan, so I decided to give it a try. The jacket is warm and light weight. Protects me well even with the wind is whipping. Love all the pockets and fine detail to the zipper ends. It was worth the money. L L bean is something that I picked up from my Grandmother who bought their products faithfully. Good quality product, I'm glad to see that they have not skimped on quality, they've found other ways to cut their cost but not to the consumer.

I love this coat, it really is some kind of magic. It is so lightweight but so warm. When I first put it on I thought, not way its too light. But about 2 minutes after putting it on I got too warm for the house. I have been wearing it skiing with a light fleece under it, and soon I wont even need that. very comfortable and looks great. packs up small so great for travel. Even though the small looked small when I first took it out, I still have room for a fleece or sweater under it. the only negative is that it is not really waterproof, just water resistant, but that hasn't been a problem for me. A great buy over all.
In the picture its me in the blue jacket, color is great too!

I wear this jacket daily. When it's cold - now - I use it for cross country skiing. Perfect for walking on trails in the snow or on errands in town. Unzip it when in the market.

I'm tired of winter jackets that are bulky and that make you look bulky. I decided to give this jacket a try and I'm so glad I did. I bought it a little big so that I could layer. It is so lightweight but so so warm. I absolutely love it.

Had been watching this jacket for awhile. Thought it was a bit pricey at first so I waited until I had some gift cards. . Color blue was absolutely true to the picture . Even though this jacket is remarkably lightweight it does resist wind. Wore it walking one day when there was a bit of wind and temp in the mid 20's. Definitely kept the wind out . Was trying to decide between large and extra large And was glad I stuck with the large. I can fit a light sweater or sweatshirt under and I think the extra large may have allowed more wind in. Love the extra pockets and will be great to pack and not take up much room. Wish I had bought it sooner now.

I bought this jacket for walking the dog. I live in western South Dakota and it not only gets cold, it's often very windy. The hood stays on when the wind blows, which is what I was looking for. I've also been wearing it when shoveling snow when it's -7. Great range of motion and love the outside chest pocket for my cellphone. Keeps me nice and warm and it's very lightweight - not at all bulky.

i bought this for my 14yo daughter and she loves it- fits her loose to add layers underneath when needed. She used it when we had a snowstorm a few weeks ago and stayed outside with her friends for hours sledding. She came back saying she loves the jacket, it kept her warm and soak free.

I ordered this because I needed a packable hooded jacket. I also was attracted to the lavender color. I am very pleased with the jacket. It is very light weight and also warm. The Vintage Lavender color goes with everything. I look forward to taking it with me when we travel. The self-packing pocket works well.

Longer than the prior version of this jacket, that I loved and wore out. The new one again has a Nic pocket for my phone, and I like the hood, which is snug and keeps my neck and head protected. I wear over a fleece jacket -- looser than the prior version, which worked well for me.

A nice jacket, very light, but it's warm, not sure how it will be after a couple washes. But so far so good. I ordered a petite, a little bit longer than i expected.

Love this stylish jacket. It is flattering and functional. Love the zippered pockets. There is even one on the inside. Love that it is so lightweight and comfortable yet warm enough for cold winter days. The blue is gorgeous

I used this jacket in Colorado for a winter trip and it absolutely delivered all week long. I wore it just about everywhere, sometimes when the temperature was in the teens. I even went skiing (with a few layers underneath of course) and was warm the entire day. Huge pockets, good-quality zippers and hardware, packs into itself, and a sleek and stylish look. Highly recommend!
