I decided to replace an eight or ten year old version of the same and size up. i was shocked to discover that the new model in xxl tall is cut smaller and shorter than my old xl regular! For the record most other llbean products fit me well in an xl tall and xxl tall is oversized unwearably large, but I wanted a roomy fit to use as a shell over a puffer. The fabric and hardware on this iteration feel lighter and more delicate as well. Already returned it, looks like llbean, long my go to, might not be a contender for my outerwear needs any longer.

We really wanted to love this. I bought this jacket for my husband who is in need of a new raincoat. When he tried it on, the sleeves were about 2 inches too long and the whole body of the jacket was too long, slightly too wide also. given that this is a rain coat, we were willing to overlook if the overall long length but the sleeves were just too much. I do not understand why all clothing stores sell multiple sizes for women: petite, regular, tall, plus, but only two options exist for men. My husband is 5'4", proportionally, he just needs things to be slightly shorter, a petite size if you will. L.L.Bean, I hope a product manager sees this as you are missing out on a large market here. If you ever endeavor to make a short or petite size for men, call us up - we'd love to be a tester. Now the search for a new well-fitting rain coat continues.
