Great, but just not enough pockets. Why are recent designs so skimpy on pockets? A deal breaker.

My old Pathfinder died after many years of service and I wanted to replace it with its clone. I'm a 5' 10" tall woman, so LL Bean's women's sizes are too small. My old Pathfinder was a men's S and fit well through the shoulders and hips. The new one is smaller, despite being sold as the same size, and is now too small for me around the hips. I'll probably keep it because there aren't many truly waterproof jackets out there for tall women, but I'm disappointed.

Doesn't have a double zipper for the front-major flaw. Doesn't have a roll up Velcro strap for hood-another major flaw. Should be able to roll up hood to make a collar and zip up from bottom to make movement easier when sitting, squatting, bending over, etc. Really stuning how these features, which used to be common; usual, in fact, are almost non-existent today. Disappointing in an otherwise good shell.

It's a Christmas present. I don't have it yet to give a rating.

Jacket is well built and a very good value when compared to the many others that are out there. However, I needed such a garment for traveling, and when on the move I need lots of good sized pockets, the most important being an interior zippered pocket. This jacket's interior pocket in not zippered and generally speaking all the pockets are tiny. Returned.

I liked the jacket but returned it for two reasons. The hood can't be rolled neatly away, it just flops open. And excessive LLBean logos everywhere. I wish they would bring back the similar but better Stowaway rain jacket which I still love.

High quality product for sure, but beware "Slightly Fitted". The jacket fit just enough to wear a T-shirt under it, but not for layering with a mid-weight shirt, and would be uncomfortable under active movement. The fit was disappointing because I have many other LL Bean XXL garments and they always fit comfortably with some room to spare. A standard or classic fit would be an improvement.

This is a nice jacket but I have a yellow gortex from 20 years ago. Longer larger much more efficient sleeves, Velcro, zippers etc. It would fit snug and keep air flow down and cuffs, thighs, neck, every part dry snd wind blocked..

Overpriced and not as good as my old Land's End was.

Jacket may be fine, but the cut of it seems too tight for being called an extra large.

Very good jacket that is one of the best I have ever owned. That said it is very highly overpriced. That is disappointing is is a disincentive.

The arms and chest were too tight: I couldn't wear a fleece under this. This XXL item - and many LLBean large-size items - are made for people with skinny arms, chest and waist. I wear XXL from everybody else and it fits, but with LLBean, I always have to order up a size. Then they charge me to ship back their undersized items.

I have this same coat made about 5 yrs ago. The WONDERFUL features they ELIMINATED in the newer version are 1) no two way zipper,2) no front flap over the front zipper 3) no Velcro along zipper line such that u could both Zip and Velcro coat closed ,4) no elastic around the wrist (along with the Velcro ), 5) no internal zipper pockets . Suffice to say the newer version is very cheapened version of the older jacket.

This jacket is nice and repels rain well but will abrade within a mile if you use a backpack.
The jacket will also wear within day where it flexes and the arms touch the body while moving.

Typical newbie LL Bean "slightly fitted" nonsense that does not fit anyone normally .. Bean's years past customary fit was "traditional" that was tailored to fit the average person in each size range with adequate room for layering beneath .. after all, Bean is supposed to be an outdoor goods purveyor and most folks who wear outdoor event related clothing like the ability to layer beneath .. now Bean makes most of their stuff to be slightly fitted, which means that the size one used to wear in traditional fit is too small in slightly fitted and sizing up to the next size in slightly fitted is certainly smaller than the traditional fit larger size that you would go swimming in and was unworkable, but is still too large to work .. end result is that slightly fitted fits almost nobody except the skinny models often used in the Bean catalog whose bodies bear no resemblance to most of us .. and this Goretex rain jacket is nowhere nearly as well designed a product as the Stowaway Goretex Rain Gear that Bean used to sell, but discontinued because it was so popular and sold well .. Bean continues to devalue their brand by cutting back product quality and quantity of material to make the item .. quite sad to see such a once proud brand become increasingly irrelevant.

This jacket used to have a 2 way zipper, so you could unzip from bottom, when sitting.
It's too bad they removed this from the design.

Had to return. I own the discontinued Ascent jacket in XL. Spot on great jacket and this season it's on its way to jacket heaven. The pathfinderi ordered in same size, couldn't even close jacket it was so small. I'll admit after purchasing and finally getting it, I realized the fitted design. Still so small that you can't layer up. That being said, I love your Patroller GTX - great looking jacket but the black with those contrasting blue and red zipper on the outside is not an appealing color combination design, at least for me. Please offer another color scheme. For example, zipper and Ll -Bean print logo being same color as zipper. Then I would have ordered it for this season.

I am disappointed. Looking for a replacement for llbean jacket with code OAJP6 in label which was rainproof, variety of pockets, wind proof, hood tucked into collar, two way main zipper, sleeves correct length for 34 sleeve, length came below butt, large size perfect for layering over llbean three season jacket in New England coastal spring and fall. This"Pathfinder" jacket had none of these features. As a very long time customer of llbean disappointed with current inventory (probably reflects my age:)).

kept the rain out but you felt every rain drop coldness and was very uncomfortable le. Even with a another light jacket underneath it was cold when it rained. Never experienced such an uncomfortable jacket in the rain.

I returned this jacket because I think it is poorly designed. The fleece lining in made it extremely difficult to put on and take off.

Sleeves are long for size. It's also expensive given what else is on the market.

I have a build probably VERY similar to the LL Bean models and the jackets don't fit. I am 6' 2" and 170 pounds with an athletic build and NONE of their jackets fit right. They ALL have a ton of belly room and no room for movement in the elbow and armpit areas, if you need to scratch the back of your neck for example. Not many companies make Tall sizes so it's really a bummer seeing LL Bean make such terrible fitting jackets. Columbia is the best bet if you're having trouble like I am

I returned this jacket because the collar stuck up so high you could not move your head without your face hitting one side or the other. I have the earlier version of this jacket from 5 years ago & it fits well, but is coming apart at the armpit outlets.
