Great lightweight jacket and super comfortable. Have worn it in wind and cold temps around 15 degrees and I'm impervious to wind and stay warm.

More than I expected. So light weight one hardly knows it's on. Quite warm. Replaces an older down Bean coat.
Quite happy with my purchase.

I am very pleased with this jacket. For its weight the warmth is amazing. No, by itself it will not keep you warm on a polar expedition. That's not what it is intended to be. Stylish, warm, and comfortable... couldn't ask for more.

Worn hiking on some very cold days in the NC Blue Ridge. Excellent insulation. Comfortable. Solid wind protection. Hood came in handy.

The jacket is extremely warm, especially layered, and the biggest plus to this ultralight down jacket is the hood. Too many of the lightweight down hoodies nowadays only have a helmet cinch in the hood. This one has the traditional draw cord around the face, And that keeps the wind out!

I actually have three of these coats. One for walking the dog...a 140 pound newfoundland that drools over the front car seat on me to our destination, and puts her muddy paws on me for my attention. The nylon holds up well and can be easily spot washed to look like new again. I have this one (new) for casual activities with family and friends....love the light weight and breath-ability, keeping comfortable and dry. And a third that stays in our RV for cool nites. I have used one as a layer under my rain shell during the winter and under my ski coat for added warmth.

My husband LOVES this jacket. He says it's nice and warm. It's cold here, near Buffalo, NY! The only improvement would be to find a way to keep the hood tight to the head. The toggles don't cut it. Otherwise, it's a great jacket!

Hands down, this is the warmest jacket I have ever owned. Been getting some seriously cold mornings walking the dog (teens) and sometimes breezy to boot. This jacket, with its sewn on hood is great over a regular cap and has draw strings to tighten down the hood if needed. One fault: Hood straps are too difficult to manage on the fly. This jacket is warm enough that I don't need gloves. Alternately letting my hands spend time in the pockets works to keep them warm and comfortable. The phone pocket is awesome! The way the jacket zips up to the chin is awesome! The genuine goose down is really doing a good job, and there is at least some degree of waterproofing built in because, caught is moderate rain, the inside did not get wet. No complaints with this jacket except a minor one already mentioned. Light as a feather too! Worn with a fleece-lined sweatshirt, I do not get cold. And, it's a beautiful jacket!

It is much better than all previous down coats I had. Since I purchased it it was 25 degrees here and I could comfortably walk outside, wearing only a t-shirt below the jacket

I did purchase the large tall and it is perfect. My husband is a senior and it was his favorite Christmas present. Perfect for the cool nights in the desert of Tucson. Perfect for Minnesota. Perfect for hiking. Packable and light. Super comfortable. A winner!

My husband is in his late 80s and still walks mile to mile in a half almost every day. He was complaining his old jacket was getting too heavy for him and his neck and head was always cold because it did not have a hood, so I decided to purchase an ultra down hooded jacket for him. He loves it. Perfect for our cool fall and cold winter (Gettysburg, PA). Only complaint I have is that I called and spoke to an associate before ordering as I wanted to make sure of the size. I told her he would be wearing a sweat shirt under the jacket and she told me to go with a large. The large was too small. So I called and they did exchange without charging me the return shipping. Great jacket, we got the green, my husband loves it. Highly recommend this jacket.

Love the light weight and the warmth. Easy to pack away when its necessary. I chose the blue colored one and glad i did because its an attractive jacket. In live in Idaho where we have cold winters and this one is toasty warm especially with the hood. I don't believe i would ever want a winter jacket without a hood.

This is the best winter jacket I ever have. My other winter jackets are not as warm but bulkier and heavier. This jacket feels nice and warm. I wear this with another layer for walking at 25 to 35 degrees F and it feels comfortable. Highly recommended.

Went one size up from my normal size so I could layer... It has worked out well... I can wear a sweatshirt and thin down vest under this coat on the coldest and windiest of days and stay toasty. We walk 2 to 3 miles daily in all sorts of winter weather... The hood is a nice plus for those cold, windy days...

I've been a long-time customer and so know my LL Bean sizes (which has varied over the years).
The small fits me perfectly... even with a heavy flannel shirt underneath (NOTE: I typically take a medium in sweatshirts). I get cold easily and this jacket is great... nice and warm!

This jacket is extremely lightweight and warm, thanks to the 850 weight down and is exactly what I was looking for - something warm that can be worn as an everyday jacket, compresses for travel, and use as a liner to go under my waterproof shell in extreme Minnesota winter weather conditions.
One note - I found the fit to be trim or "athletic" in the shoulders and torso. I normally wear XL and went with XXL to get a comfortable fit in the shoulders. At home, I compared this size XXL jacket to my many other size XL jackets in length, shoulder width, sleeve length, etc. They compared pretty much identical in all forms. Go figure...

My brothers and I got this for my father as a Christmas present. He is an XXL-T and I don't think he's ever had a coat that fit him properly. He reports that he loves this coat. It's warm without being bulky.

Haven't had this coat long enough for a thorough testing, but to date it is just what I was hoping for, a lightweight and warm jacket suitable for such activities as my daily walk to work or shoveling the driveway. I probably could have gotten an XL but I am pleased to have a bit of extra room with the XXL.

I love this jacket. This style is nice-looking, and it fits really well. My other cold weather coat is warm but bulky and I don't like putting it on because it is heavy. In contrast, this jacket is both warm and super light-weight. I love being able to just throw it on and not feel like I'm wearing several pounds of extra clothing. I'm really happy that I bought this jacket.
Note about size: I bought a regular because there wasn't a tall in the store (and I'm not sure if they offer medium tall online). The sleeves fully cover my wrists and it doesn't feel short anywhere. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
