Nice jacket except for the feeling inside. Sorry to say E.B.'s is better.

Should be straight down chest to waist. Needs to be able to get layers underneath. Too tight at waist.

Not lined at all. I have a similar raincost but has a light airy liner. This is just a shell. Expensive shell.

I wear a lot of garments sized LT. When ordering from LL Bean, if anything, they are normally too wide in the body for me. This jacket is the exception. It has quite a tapered fit. I couldn't comfortably fit a sweater underneath. It was also difficult to get full movement of the arms since the jacket is tight across the shoulders. It doesn't breathe at all and it could benefit from either a webbed lining or zippers underneath the arms to vent the jacket. It is waterproof. There was no leakage even in a heavy rain. I ended up giving it away and buying another brand which is the first for me with an Bean product.

This mens rain jacket is made well but has no lining. It is a plastic type material that imo will not hold up to washing. Returned item.

I bought this same jacket for the third time, more in hope than expectation. The first I bought, in '93 or '94, was excellent. I wore it motorcycling, I wore it to sail, I wore it for anything and it didn't leak for 20 years. The second, in 2013? The zippers corroded and stuck from sea sailing in a keelboat. It leaked after 6 or 7 years. Both of these jackets had a zip pocket to fold the hood into; this one doesn't. Are the zips going to be seaworthy? How long will it be till it leaks? Why is there no explanation on this page or anywhere else as to which pocket the jacket folds into? I bought it again but I'm actively looking for an alternative from another brand now.

Birthday present for my husband. The fabric seems too light-weight to be water-repellent, but to be fair, he hasn't tested it yet. It was difficult to zip it up. Fabric was stitched too close to the zipper and gets caught in the zipper each time.

Fit is okay. Zipper sticks a little when unzipping. Not as breathable as I hoped.

Not true to size. If you're between medium to large you must move up to large. While it may not matter with sleeve length or body width the hood becomes much to large due to additional body length. It works but it's uncomfortable.

I wear xxxl everything from LL Bean, both the slightly fitted and traditional fit. This rain jacket is very small, unusually so for LL Bean. In this same order, I ordered other items of the same size that fit perfectly. I would order a size up on this particular item. I'm going to have to return this :(.

Like the material and jacket fit but the hood has an annoying fit as it hangs down over my eyes.

The jacket is well-made & fits well, but feels very flimsy. I use mine only as "emergency" rain gear in boat or on bike. The value/price is not bad. It is not as good as our other llbean jackets, which are GoreTex.

I'm trying this jacket one more time for my husband. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I ordered up a size as the reviews suggested and he tried it on and was still shocked at the shoulders and arms. They are pretty tight. I tried it on and I wear petite a lot being short and they were very tight. If he wanted to layer it just wouldn't happen.

I'm sure the product works well, but the shiny, plastic-y feel is a little stiff, crinkly and not comfortable to wear, nor does the styling appeal in any way. I'm 5'10", 150 lbs, athletic/slim. The medium fit fine if you want a little extra room to put over other clothing. Small might flatter better if I cared to exchange and try it.

The jacket was great. I just need a different color. Sent it back. Expecting an exchange for black instead of gray.

It should serve well enough for the occasional rainy day. Is too pricey for a ~$100 item. Fortunately, I bought it with 100% "Bean Bucks".

The jacket is waterproof. I have worn a 2 xl jacket most of my life. This one is tight in the shoulders. Otherwise it would be fine.

If you are wearing this jacket over a t-shirt, it is a bit snug. I went with the next size up (large), which fit perfectly over t-shirt and two fleeces (I went to Iceland in late June-early July). The jacket worked beautifully, sealing out 50 MPH gusts and rain. All the pockets are ample size and zip well. The jacket looks so sharp, my glacier guide even said she really liked it. The two main faults: First, the main zipper always caught on the material. Every time. Zipping and unzipping. The slack on the inside material adjacent to the zipper needs to somehow be taken in. It always took several tries to fully zip and unzip. It had that problem in the store, but I thought I just needed to either work out the kink or I was being klutzy. Second, the shock cord fasteners didn't hold the hood closed when I moved around or walked in windy conditions (far less than the 50 MPH gusts). Now that I just returned from my trip, I'm going to the store to try another jacket. If the zipper problem is a one-off, I'll exchange it. If the problem seems common to other jackets, I'll reluctantly return it. There's nothing worse than trying to work out a stuck zipper on a rain jacket when the heavens start pouring down on you.
