I purchased this jacket to use on a trip to England, where it rains nearly every day. It is lightweight, very good looking, and it appears to be well constructed, with multiple zip pockets. It was a little bigger than medium, but this was just what I wanted so that I could layer a shirt and a sweatshirt underneath easily. It was not quite as waterproof as I would have liked, but it did a pretty good job. I would have preferred a hood that could be rolled up, but this isn't a big deal. I do recommend it.

This jacket is excellent for the transition times of the year when a heavier jacket might be oppressive. It is remarkably waterproof--I'm used to waxed cotton--and very light and packable. The advertising copy says it is packable into its own pocket, but so far I haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

Fit well, light easy to wear. A good add to my wardrobe.

I like the light weight. One Drawback. When raining and using the hood, the hood slips too much over your eyes to block seeing out straight. Can only see down. Wish the hood had a lip on the end that stuck out. I have other older LLBean light rain jackets that still work and I love.

I liked most features of this windbreaker very much. The one thing I would have preferred was to have elasticized sleeve cuffs instead of of Velcro-operated non-elasticized ones.

A little thinner than I was expecting for that price. But the quality was up to LL Bean standards.

I ordered this rain jacket for a trip and found the jacket to be of great quality and fit. The price was more than I wanted to pay for an article of this type however all of the other clothing that I have purchased from LL Bean has been great, so I placed the order to have an "in-hand" look at the jacket. Ultimately, I found a different brand rain jacket which I purchased locally for less than half the price of this one, but with all the same good attributes.

This is a well made rain jacket. There were no flaws in workmanship at all. This jacket is made of packable, lightweight material. That being said, it is only a water resistant shell. It does not have any insulation. It is meant to be worn over a thick sweater or other layers. The sleeve length is perfect. When you stretch your arms out in front of you the sleeves do not ride up to your elbows. This was purchased for an upcoming trip to Alaska, and I think it will do extremely well. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I bought this to replace the similar one I had purchased 8 years ago. It worked very well but over time, the liner started to flake off and the jacket was loosing its water resistance. This new jacket has a similar liner so I am hopeful that it holds up better than the first one I purchased.

This is a little short for a Tall. I have the previous version and it's a good 3" longer. Maybe get an XXL?

Lightweight and improved water repellent features are a big plus. But the hood is very large and has no mechanism to "snug it in" causing modest winds to blow it back. More concerning is the hood falls well into the field of view. I think this can be solved by wearing a knit hat which will help fill up gaps as well as give resistance to agitations from the wind. Keeping it but didn't find it perfect all around.

I bought this to replace a XXL jacket from another brand that I've had for years. That old XXL jacket still fits, but is getting a little snug. The XXXLT LL Bean jacket, on the other hand is too small and will have to be returned. It fits so tightly around the shoulders that I can barely move, the sleeves barely fit over my arms, and it won't zip over my fat belly. Really disappointed.

This is a decent jacket for the price, and depending on how you intend to use it, ranges from a 3 to a 5. For everyday use in damp or rainy conditions, this is well worth it and I would give it a 5. If you intend to use it in extremely wet conditions, you may want to consider a Gore-tex shell or higher end jacket. I often use it on a daily basis in and around Anchorage or when out for day hikes and it is perfect, but in extreme conditions there might be better options. I've used it hiking in torrential rains and while pack rafting and don't recommend it for those conditions. In particular, I find the hood to be problematic and the fabric can get saturated.

I bit too big for size small, feels like shirt size M, but fabric and sewing are great.

Weight and fit were nice but the zipper had a major flaw. It was sewed in such a way that the inside fabric got caught every time. We checked the other coats in the store and they were all the same. We did return it.

Grandson doesn't like the feeling of the interior on bear arms, the jacket sticks. Needs a lining. He does love the pockets, hood and it keeps him dry.

Love the fit of the jacket and quality. I did wear this while golfing and in a light rain. After 2 hours the waterproof ability acted more like cotton. Great for a quick rain shower, but if in rain for an extended time, expect to get wet.

I bought this light weight rain jacket for an overseas trip for my husband. While the jacket is good for rain and packing, the zipper is not working properly and we will return it when we return home.

I would have given the product a 5 star review except for the zipper, which hangs up primarily when I try to unzip the jacket. The cloth next to the zipper keeps getting caught in the zipper and locks up the zipper. Bad design in my opinion. Need to design such that loose cloth isn't near the zipper. I now use a trick to unzip which is to put left thumb in left pocket and pull laterally while pulling zipper away from body with right hand. It took some aggravating experimentation to learn this trick!

This replaced my 6 year old beloved LL Bean raincoat lost in recent travel. Has new features including Velcro closures across zipper. May account for difficult zipper action ...lots of jams. I miss my old jacket!
