Like the material and jacket fit but the hood has an annoying fit as it hangs down over my eyes.

The jacket is well-made & fits well, but feels very flimsy. I use mine only as "emergency" rain gear in boat or on bike. The value/price is not bad. It is not as good as our other llbean jackets, which are GoreTex.

I'm trying this jacket one more time for my husband. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I ordered up a size as the reviews suggested and he tried it on and was still shocked at the shoulders and arms. They are pretty tight. I tried it on and I wear petite a lot being short and they were very tight. If he wanted to layer it just wouldn't happen.

I'm sure the product works well, but the shiny, plastic-y feel is a little stiff, crinkly and not comfortable to wear, nor does the styling appeal in any way. I'm 5'10", 150 lbs, athletic/slim. The medium fit fine if you want a little extra room to put over other clothing. Small might flatter better if I cared to exchange and try it.

The jacket was great. I just need a different color. Sent it back. Expecting an exchange for black instead of gray.

It should serve well enough for the occasional rainy day. Is too pricey for a ~$100 item. Fortunately, I bought it with 100% "Bean Bucks".

The jacket is waterproof. I have worn a 2 xl jacket most of my life. This one is tight in the shoulders. Otherwise it would be fine.

If you are wearing this jacket over a t-shirt, it is a bit snug. I went with the next size up (large), which fit perfectly over t-shirt and two fleeces (I went to Iceland in late June-early July). The jacket worked beautifully, sealing out 50 MPH gusts and rain. All the pockets are ample size and zip well. The jacket looks so sharp, my glacier guide even said she really liked it.
The two main faults: First, the main zipper always caught on the material. Every time. Zipping and unzipping. The slack on the inside material adjacent to the zipper needs to somehow be taken in. It always took several tries to fully zip and unzip. It had that problem in the store, but I thought I just needed to either work out the kink or I was being klutzy. Second, the shock cord fasteners didn't hold the hood closed when I moved around or walked in windy conditions (far less than the 50 MPH gusts).
Now that I just returned from my trip, I'm going to the store to try another jacket. If the zipper problem is a one-off, I'll exchange it. If the problem seems common to other jackets, I'll reluctantly return it. There's nothing worse than trying to work out a stuck zipper on a rain jacket when the heavens start pouring down on you.

The jacket is light and It fits well. But the information online says it folds into its own pocket, but there was no information about how to fold it or a pocket provided

This is the third Trail Model Rain Jacket I've purchased in the past 10 years. PROS: Size M fits well on me @ 5-9 & 140, which seems to be a problem with other brands. It's versatile: I often wear it as a shell over a fleece, which keeps me warm even when temps fall to freezing. CONS: The hood lining of my previous two jackets disintegrated over time; by the 3rd or 4th year, my partner wouldn't be seen with me without the hood UP! Hopefully, this new jacket will perform better in this area. The new jacket also has some minor, but annoying changes: The bottom metal snap has been replaced by Velcro, and the LLB logo on the front is now white instead of the same color as the jacket, turning me into an LLB billboard whether I like it or not!

Looks like a piece of plastic poncho. My previous raincoat was the Lined version and had a much better look & fit. The only downside was the lining was in the sleeves and putting your arms into them was a bit like going into velcro. A Helly Hanson raincoat is about the same price but has a better look and fit. This is NOT the quality I expected from L.L. Bean.

Mine is an older model, early 2018. It has had light use over 4 years. I like almost everything about it. The hood works really well when you zip the front all the way up. The waterproof coating has started peeling badly, shedding huge white flakes that make it unwearable. I expected it would last longer, though I might get another to replace it.

I have been an L.L. Bean customer for many years and I usually enjoy the fit/feel of all outdoor garments but this XXL Rain Jacket is much too fitted to be the outer layer I was looking for. It is okay by itself but over a jacket, sweater or light winter gear, it is way too tight in the body area. I don't like the hip hugging, at all~!
My older XL Rain Jacket from L.L. Bean is still my "Go To" rain jacket for everyday wear.
Bean can do better~!!!

I have yet to fully test in all weather, kept the rain off, but feels a bit less rugged than the Cabelas jacket it replaced

Runs small, not sure of the value until it's worn in the rain several times.

Sleeves were long enough but length too short, and body WAY too tight.

Fit is a bit tight and the material is lighter weight than I thought, but overall a good jacket.

The sizing on this men's medium rain jacket is off. I'm a slim, athletically built guy, and even thought this jacket fits me perfectly for sleeve and torso length, its too tight through the chest. When I swing my arms forward, it feels like I'm in danger of ripping out the seams.

The rain jacket is excellent in fit and waterproof capability. The jacket hood unlike previous years is too large as without wearing a cap with a visor it hangs down to my nose and blocks vision. Poor design.

This is the second Bean rain coat where the zipper always gets stuck on the inside flap. It is maddening, especially when it's pouring rain and you are trying to zip up. I sent one back and the replacement has the same issue. It's a wonderful coat otherwise, but after a few times getting the zipper caught you'll want to tear it in half and throw it out.

I love LL Bean clothing. This is the second time I bought this particular jacket. The first one had the liner, which is bonded to the shell, disintegrate. I need a windbreaker/hooded raincoat and this is fit-for-purpose. That said, $100 isn't what it once was. The XX size I bought fits fine and I can wear a thin sweater over a collared shirt under it comfortably, especially if I am standing. If it is zippered and I sit, it pulls a bit at the waist. I was hoping the XX size would handle that. Most of my shirts and sweaters are L or 1X. If Bean offered a 3X I would not buy it as I know this size to be too big for me. It seems every manufacturer has its own ideas about labeling sizes. I rate the quality as OK, but given my last jacket, I admit being wary. Time will tell, ultimately. You can't go wrong with LL Bean.

The sizing on this feels like they mixed up the pattern for one size smaller. Tight in the shoulders, barely long enough in height and sleeves. Darn shame!
