Jacket not as warm as expected. Tight through the body.

I love the jacket, but it is not as warm as I'd anticipated. I'd say it's good for 40 degrees plus, but not below that. Fit is fairly slim (I typically find LLBean fit to be full) which means it would be hard to layer underneath, but looks good. Appreciate that it compacts into very small size which makes it great for traveling.

Love the jacket, especially the weight and pack ability compared to similar brands with down insulation. Normally LL Bean runs large on me, so I ordered what I typically would and it was the tightest and shortest length article of clothing I've received for the Bean. So think bigger when ordering! Especially if you want to wear more than just a tshirt underneath.

This jacket is very comfortable and great for layering or mild weather. Our family owns several of them and they get worn and washed all the time. My only complaint is that the zipper isn't more durable.

This is a nice light weight packable jacket I purchased it for my husband

nice and warm, but there were half a dozen loose threads, which is not the level of stitching quality I am used to, so I hope it doesn't fall apart

Probably good and quality, but the sizing was way off. It was really small. Husband wears a XXXL Tall but this was like a XL.

Way way overpriced. By it secondhand or out of season. They think they're selling gold lined clothing. I will say that this pack away coat is by far an amazing coat. I love how small it is when it packs away and how warm it is when you wear it but still stop ripping us off.

It's light and easy to bring along. Wind does blow through it so not great alone when that is a factor. I like it when the temps are above 40

Really nice jacket with a not-so-great fit. First for those that are unaware Primaloft Gold with Aerogel is the premier synthetic insulation available today. It's not widely offered and LL's jacket here is a pretty good value especially if on sale (Pata-G has a Gold without Aerogel that they ask $280 for as an example).
As other reviewers have mentioned, the fit is a bit tight in the chest/underarm. It's not a deal breaker for me but I can see how some would find it too uncomfortable. I'm 6' 177 and ended up with the Large Tall after trying a couple of variants and I'm very happy with it as a mid layer. I think the sizing prevents its use as an outer jacket on very cold days as layering would be difficult.
Lastly, many reviewers here seem disappointed in the warmth of the jacket but I really feel they are not using it correctly or for its intended purpose-it's not going to replace your 800 full down parka, not is it supposed to. The warmth to weight ratio here is unbelievable and if you use it right- tighten your hem adjustments and zip it all the way, you will maximize its ability to insulate and it definitely punches way above its weight in cold weather. With a good merino base and a decent fleece, I'm good into the high 20's low 30's. When I use it as a mid under a shell I'm good into the teens. But put it under a puffer and I've yet to find a temp that I couldn't be comfortable in and have used it with wind chills in the minus 10's; replace your fleece with this and your ready for anything.
Overall, best synthetic insulation on the market, high quality zippers and hem adjustments, very comfortable materials and just feels like a well made productbut with a fit that is not for everyone unfortunately.

Jacket is warm and seems to be of great quality, but the sizing chart is way off. 3XLT fits like an XLT or 2XL.

Jacket provides good wind breaking and I found it has a range between 38 deg F with a sweat shirt, up to 50 deg F.
Ok in a light rain.
Has almost no weight.

Great fit, good fabric. Not as warm as I hoped it would be. Ok for 45+50 degrees, not 20s and 30s

Overall it's a great jacket. A little thinner than I thought so it's not a heavy winter coat but does great for me in 40-50 degree weather.

I liked mine so much, especially for cooler weather travel, that I gave one to my son for Christmas. He loves it. Likes the packability, light weight, and warmth for cooler climates. This is a grab-and-go jacket for quick trips, errands, and travel. Note that this is not a jacket to wear if you are in temperatures lower than freezing (32 F), unless you have a warm layer under it. Price is a little high, especially since it is not natural down, but synthetic fill, which makes it machine washable (good thing!). But sales and Bean bucks definitely help. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Depending on the use someone has in mind, I would recommend this jacket to others.

the jacket itself is great. Not thick and yet very warm. The fact that it is fitted created an issue. I had to return the first and purchase a larger size. The confusion would be eliminated had the word fitted been in with the description as it is with all your shirts. In this instance, buying one size up works perfectly.

Love these jackets. Have several. This is replacement for old one that zipper went bad. Four stars because my husband said it seems thinner than old one.

The color combination was great. The style great, the packable feature sounded great. It was cut too small for the person I purchased it for. Too short, too tight, and not a fit at all.

Very light but very warm. Most attractive. The large size is on the tight/small fit. Difficult to wear much other than a shirt underneath it.

Too light for my purposes. Needed a thicker layer for layering under my shell for skiing. Nice jacket, though and the blue was cool.

Lightweight and warm but "slightly fitted" so limiting to what will be layered underneath. Worked well in a trip to Maine the beginning of February this year, layered under a shell. Normally I do not purchase "fitted" outerwear as I like to be able to layer for differing and changeable weather conditions. An Irish sweater was a little restrictive as a layer under the Packaway. So far, I do not regret the purchase. Packs easily for travel.

Very warm. I do not like how you have started making this coat "slightly fitted." I bought this jacket to replace an older version of the coat that was a "regular" fit. This slightly fitted version is too tight across the chest. An XXL would be too big. Bring back the "regular" fit.

Not suitable for an Upper Michigan winter, but this jacket is amazingly warm for being so light. If you leave it open, it's light and cool. If you zip it, it keeps the heat in. I am already wearing it constantly in November. Next month I'll wear it under another coat very similar in weight. I'm sure that will be super warm and light. I like to be active outdoors, and this jacket helps me do that in changing weather.

Historically, I have worn an X-Large jacket, however, after ordering one, I found it was too small and had to return it and order a XX-Large which fits perfectly. I love this jacket! I would like to suggest LL Bean improve it's quality control.
