This is the perfect jacket for my husband who is always forgetting to grab his coat on the way out the door. It's easy to fold up and pack in his backpack or briefcase. It's lightweight and he can wear it with everything. It looks great!

The reason I bought this jacket, was the light weight, the slipperiness of the inside sleeves, so that I can wear it over my fleece and it slides on easily, and the size of the pockets for my phone, flashlight, car keys, and wallet. I am a woman, and I buy men's jackets, because nowadays the women's jackets are too slim in the arms and shoulders for an athletic woman with wide shoulders. They fit better. I tried this one on at a local store, and it was perfect, so I bought another one online from you.

Has just enough extra room to put on layers if necessary. Absolutely love the light weight. Had some brutally cold days recently once on builds heat remains trapped. Nice wind resistance, not water resistant at all.

This jacket is perfect for me. Light weight, yet very repellent to cold wind.

Finally a jacket that my 87 year old husband can wear comfortably! The jacket easily slips over his arms, which are a little stiff to maneuver these days. It is light-weight, rather than heavy on his shoulders. AND, it keeps him warm. Though I would normally have ordered LARGE, I opted for XL because the description said the jacket was slightly fitted. We are happy with the decision.

My husband loves this jacket. I am happy that we bought him the tall, the regular may have been a bit short on him. We do not live in a cold climate so we can't tell if it would be warm enough for the temps quoted. It is warm enough that you have to take it off if you are inside, though. Jacket is very thin and will be super easy to pack.

Bought as a lightweight alternative to a fleece as a mid layer worn under winter shell primarily for skiing. Works perfectly! Keeps me warm but is very breathable. Also, comfortable in the truck and for the walk to the lodge.

This jacket fits just right. It's snug enough to be a layering piece, but comfortable enough to wear over a thin fleece.

Purchased this jacket as a layer for under a ski jacket. Its warm, lightweight, and not bulky whatsoever. I like on warmer days I can take it off and stuff it inside itself to carry in a backpack. Overall great product so far.

I live in New England and layering for warmth under a wide variety of outer wear is helpful. This jacket is perfect for cool days by itself and as an added layer of warmth under a waterproof outer layer on rainy days or even a layer under your heaviest winter jacket on brutally cold days. The collar is large enough to act as a neck/chin protector when skiing without being bulky as well.

When I picked up the package containing this jacket I was hit with the thought that surely LL Bean had goofed and sent me the wrong product. How could a jacket be so light? And when I opened it and saw the acket I was certain that I had goofed. How could it possibly keep me warm in frigid temperatures? Well, this week it more than proved itself with some days barely making it out of the 20s. And yet when I traveled south it stuffed easily into my full rollerboard. It was exactly what I was in the market for. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to you.

I bought this as a present for my son. Really wanting a lightweight winter jacket for him to wear over sweatshirts, etc. I tried it on when I got it and it was too small on me! I went ahead and gave it to him and he did say it's a little tight. It was ok though, he got to pick out his own colors and hooded-style and the 2x fit him well. He says it is much warmer that he expected. And my husband grabbed up the XL and has been wearing it. And normally he would not let me buy him a coat, so I recommend this purchase.

I love this jacket! It is the perfect wieight for Fall, Winter, and Spring in Indiana. It's the perfect weight to keep you warm running errands or being active outside. Layered with a sweater, your will be warm in to the single digits in my opinion. It looks great on and I love that it is so light. It's also a great travel coat because it compresses to almost nothing. Don't get me wrong, however, I'm not sure I would recommend this coat for staying ourside all day in extreme cold. It's not built for that.

Extremely light, comfortable to wear. Surprisingly warm for weight and lack of bulk. Enough room for layering if needed.

First time I bought a coat this style and let me say I will always be buying this style from now on. It's not a big puffy coat which is great. Definitely keeps you warm (so far on 35 degrees) I've been buying from bean for 25 years and this coat is a home run. I'm most likely gonna buy another in a different color.

I purchased a similar TNF jacket for my son but wanted something a tad lighter, packable but still warm. I ordered an XL Tall b/c I like the coverage the slightly longer length provides and it fit as expected - Nice trim fit but with enough room for an extra layer underneath. No complaints about the Illini colorway either!

I am very pleased with this jacket. It is light weight, warm, packable and the fit is great. Also It easily fits under my Gortex shell for colder weather. The jacket I ordered was a medium tall as I have long arms.

I love this coat. In addition to being good looking, the coat works great. I used it on a trip to Utah. It is lightweight and easy to pack and travel with. The coat was perfect for plane ride and for teens weather. Tackles all climates and looks good.

I first ordered the Regular size which the size chart recommended for someone 6'0". It was too short and tight. Sent it back for the Tall and it was a perfect fit. I am amazed at how such a light jacket could be so warm. So far have used it in temps into the 20s. It's a great winter coat!

I first bought my wife the 850 jacket last year. She loves it. I got jealous cause it was so warm and lite I had to get one. When I was looking at all the jackets I saw the Primaloft jacket. I had a hard time deciding what jacket to buy. I decided on the premaloft. It has NASA parts in it I thought that's cool so I bought it. Still not sure what jacket is better since I don't wear my wife's 850 jacket. But I love my jacket. It's light like I'm not wearing anything. I don't care if it's packable or not, just the warmth. And it is. Thanks, LL Bean. ps, I am thinking of buying the 850 lol

After reading previous reviews, I decided to order this jacket in an XL regular size and it fits just right. I usually order a tall size, however, this jacket fits me perfectly. I am amazed at how something so light can keep you so warm. It is a go to jacket in colder temps when I go on my early morning hikes.
