I bought the light gray with yellow accents. Jacket is very light but warm, I have been wearing it under another coat on cold days (under 30F) and by itself on warmer days (30-50F). It is fairly close fitting for me which is good; I have been wearing only a T-shirt under it.

I love LL Bean products and was wanting a cold weather jacket for a year. I finally pulled the trigger on this one and couldn't be happier. For such a lightweight jacket, it warms better than I expected. Stylish too! I've never had a packable or down jacket. My only concern is the jacket's durability. The thin jacket fabric may wear over time. Although my in law has had one for over 5 years and it's just fine. I highly recommend this product!

Super light weight - to the point I thought it was not going to be warm at cool temperatures. I was very surprised it was very comfortable with a flannel shirt down to about 40 degrees. I wore it in Colorado w/ flannel shirt and heavy sweater @ 20 degrees and windy while hiking - It was very comfortable. Fit allowed layering But it was not so roomy to reduce effectiveness without a bulky layer. Very pleased.

I'm a medium in shirts, the medium fit me perfect.
On a 35* Morning I wore a shirt, sweater, and this coat on my walk to work. I was warm, and I didnt sweat. Breathes well. Feels nice. Not great for wind, surprisingly.

I purchased this jacket for a spare to keep in my pack. I have several jackets of this type with the synthetic down insulation material. Two of the jackets are from the big names which are very good. I thought this bean jacket would be used as a spare, but it is my go to jacket now. It is a great wind stopper and holds the body heat without making you hot. It fits great, and gives enough room to be active. So far it has been very durable. I wear a tee shirt as a base layer and the jacket does what it is suppose to do, keeps you warm and comfortable . I was surprised at how much it blocks the wind, even with only a tee shirt. Here in the north land , the weather can change in a matter of minutes . So far it has repelled water very good. Not meant for downpours but light rain no problem. At high elevations, wind and rain can be pretty intense if you aren't prepared . I really like the breast pocket for some small go to items of my EDC. Allows for enough room and access for my CC weapon. LL bean did a great job with this jacket. You will not regret the purchase. Now my favorite big name jacket is my spare, and the bean jacket is worn every single day. I will purchase another one when this one gets lost or damaged. Just don't get too close to the camp fire, or those sparks will put buckshot holes in the fabric. A little seam seal will take care of that if need be. Will keep you warm even if wet. I only put a shell over it if the temp dips below -10 deg. With a tee shirt and this jacket I'm comfortable in cool to cold weather. A great choice for me. Even at full price this thing is worth it. You won't know how good this jacket really is until you own one.

We purchased this jacket specifically for a trip to Patagonia, where we expected a variety of weather and needed a lightweight, warm, and packable jacket. This was a perfect choice. The zipper pockets are generous, the blue color was flattering and showed up nicely in our travel pics, and the warmth this lightweight jacket provided was surprising. On wet days, a waterproof jacket over this jacket was perfect. On days when extra warmth wasn't needed, this jacket acted as a lightweight windbreaker when partially unzipped. It's the Goldilocks of jackets! I wholeheartedly recommend this winner!

I got this jacket for my son. It's perfect for keeping warm and dry on the way to the bus stop. Lightweight, so it's comfortable and packs away small. Just what we were looking for. And the color and style are nice.

I bought this jacket to travel to Europe. It was perfect---lightweight, easy to pack and got me through several rainy days. It's not too bulky but roomy enough to wear a thick sweater.

Perfect jacket. Super lightweight without the bulk of traditional down jackets (I really don't like that Michelin Man look). Well made. Fits perfectly and great contrast color. Worth every penny.

I bought this jacket as a gift. The fit is true-to-size. The jacket is warm and weightless. A very comfortable coat and it washes (and dries) well. I'm happy with the purchase and he must be too since he wears it all of the time :)

The jacket is well-made and "packs" in a small space. I don't agree with some reviewers that it runs small. It is true that you can't "layer" much under it, but form-fitting is the current fashion style. It is very warm considering how light it is (like a feather).

This jacket is exactly as described. Super light weight and I was surprised at how warm it kept me during a walk around the block on a partularly cold and windy day! My wife and daughter have the heavier version but throw a fleece vest on under this jacket and it's all you'll need for the winter.

When I got this I almost sent it back without wearing it. IT's so light I couldn't believe it would be warm. So glad I didn't. This jacket over a sweatshirt on an 8 degree windy day was warm.
It's all I want to wear now.
Fit was perfect.

I've had this jacket for 3 weeks and have worn it almost exclusively in temperatures ranging from -7 to 38 degrees and it has performed very well. I worn everything under it from dress shirts while shoveling snow in the thirties to midweight fleece while walking in single digits with a slight breeze.
I don't really understand the fit issue, at 5'10" 167 lbs I find it to be slightly roomy and perfect for layering. I found it to be cold when standing around in below zero temperatures with a midweight layer but not while walking or hiking in single digit weather. It was too warm worn with micro fleece while hiking in the 30's.
It seemed offer some moderate wind resistance, so I never wore a shell with it. Despite sweating into it on three separate strenuous hikes it never absorbed odors. I'm thinking this may not be quite as warm as a down sweater but is far more functional. It did require mild detergent for washing, but it came out of the dryer looking good as new and maybe even with improved loft.

My husband usually wears heavy coats so I wasn't sure he would go for this but he loves it, comments on it each time he puts it on.
He mainly likes the light weight and the fact that it is made from discarded objects. I thought he might not like the shiny fabric but it does not bother him and it seems to me that it is not as shiny now as when it was new.
My husband and I highly recommend this jacket. Now, he wants me to have one.

Just received the Men's PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket in Medium in the killer color Carbon Navy w/orange zipper. I opened the package put on the jacket, fell in love with it, and took the dogs for a walk. It's a real feel of 37 today (1/29/18) here in Brooklyn with winds blowing at 13 mph. I couldn't believe it but this jacket kept me warm with just a t-shirt and regular button shirt underneath. The jacket is so light weight I thought I'd freeze - but no, this new technology works! I always wear medium in LL Bean jackets and they fit perfectly. This jacket is no exception. Good work LL Bean! (BTW I'm 5'8"/175 lbs)

I wanted to write a review on this jacket because I actually bought 2 of these jackets. Last year I bought a Medium Blue but the fit was all wrong. It was baggy and really fit like a large instead of a medium. They clearly re-fit these a jackets this year. I went to a store to try on a medium and it fit great. It's definitely tailored better and when zipped up there is no bagginess or puffiness. I bought the Blue with Orange this year and it's amazing in person. The jacket is true to size this year and still super warm. Absolutely love it!

Nice jacket, very lightweight, but I wanted a jacket I could wear over a tee in cold weather, and this one didn't hold up to a windy, low-20s day. I returned it, no hard feelings, as my requirements are pretty serious.
