This jacket is perfect for under a winter jacket or parka. Light but warm. Thin enough so you don't feel all bunched up. Perfect for Maine and NH winters.

This is a very lightweight jacket that looks really sharp, brings decent warmth for the feather weight. Its very packable so I can bring it when I'm traveling, be comfortable to and from the airports but not log around a bulky coat when I arrive somewhere warm. It is a fitted coat, I would struggle to fit a substantial sweater or a heavy weight fleece under it.

I've had 4 versions of this jacket in the last 14 years. I wear them daily in winter/fall. They are perfect for my particular needs and quite durable.

We took ours on safari in Africa, they were indispensable. This time I purchased four more as gifts and sent them to friends in Africa. Our summer is their winter and it gets quite cold winter nights and early mornings. Very well received. Packable feature is great for limited travel space. Must have for travel.

Bought this jacket when I went to Maine in the summer and forgot a sweater, but plan to wear it under a shell as a winter x-c skiing everyday item. Very warm for its weight, easy to compact and quite lightweight overall. Love that the insulation is made from recycled materials

I've have had this style jacket for several years. It is very light weight but warm within it's temperature range. This new jacket is nice but is slightly tight in the chest with only a flannel shirt under it. I do like the jacket even though a sweater will not fit under it in colder weather.

Purchased a PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket several years ago and need a replacement. The new one is for every day wear and the old one is for dirty jobs. Great for cold wear and spring weather.

I had doubts prior to ordering that such a thin jacket can retain heat. This jacket exceeded my expectations in that category. I purchased this for use as a mid layer while skiing with a 3 year old. Some days I was sweating other days I was just sitting in the snow, before ordering this. I never needed to wear a shell over this jacket in Buffalo in the winter. That should tell you something right there.

Excellent jacket, just bought my second. This has been surprisingly warm over cold winters for being so light, Also has been a great layer under a shell for downhill skiing. Only wish is that the nylon material was a little thicker and more durable, buying a second jacket now as mine was torn by some sharp dog claws - but first coat lasted almost 3 years with regular use

Original order was for a fitted large. which was a little small. I exchanged it for an XL, which fits me well.I purchased it to use while wild pheasant hunting in South Dakota. l There the temps and wind chill vary from 17-50 degrees in late October, early November. I've worn in it in the windy low 20s in northern Virginia with great results. It so warm that I worn a layer less and was warmer without the missing layer! Is much lighter an less bulky that a fleece & easier to pack. Strongly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this jacket! I can wear it in all types of weather. If it's cold you can wear a sweater underneath and it does the trick. It fits right and looks great. Very comfortable jacket for walking your dog, hiking or weekend wear.

Great product. I bought it on sale and it's a perfect liner for my rain parka. I love it because I can throw it in the washer with no ill effects. It also works well alone.

Exactly as advertised: lightweight, packable, and warm for its weight. Cuffs are snug but not tight, drawcord waist seals out wind, loose enough for layering without feeling over-sized. Usual LL Bean quality materials and workmanship.

I BOUGHT THIS JACKET A FEW YEARS AGO IN A SIZE XL. IT FIT FINE AT THE TIME BUT I LOST QUITE A BIT OF WEIGHT (ON PURPOSE) AND THE XL IS TOO BIG., SO I BOUGHT A SIZE L THAT FITS FINE OVER A FLEECE VEST. THIS WINTER WE HAVE HAD RECORD BREAKING COLD IN OKLAHOMA ( DOWN TO -12). I AM SO GLAD I KEPT THE XL. I HAVE BEEN WEARING THE XL OVER THE L FOR LAYERING. THE JACKETS ARE SO LIGHT WEIGHT THEY MAKE AN IDEAL JACKET FOR THE BITTER COLD WE HAVE HAD HERE. IN EFFECT THE INSULATION IS DOUBLED. THEY HAVE SAVED MY BACON. A SINGLE JACKET IS PERFECT FOR MOST OK WINTERS WITH TEMPS OF 40-50 THE RULE, BUT THIS WINTER, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE DOUBLE DIP SO TO SPEAK. THANKS BEAN FOR MAKING SUCH A JACKET. JUST WANTED TO PASS THIS ON.

Bought this for my hubby as an anniversary gift( I let him choose) At first we ordered the Large Tall but it was a bit snug cuz. I forgot to size up cuz we layer our clothes for coldy hikes. So I exchanged for an XL Tall. It was a perfect fit. He loves the comfort. And loves the color.

I was skeptical of the warmth of the materials, but needed to replace my old heavy parka. When the jacket arrived, I wondered if the correct garment was sent, but when I used it on a cold, windy morning, I was amazed and very pleased how warm it kept me (I'm cold natured and particularly susceptible to wind chill). I was comfortable throughout my walk. It is astounding that a jacket as light (very light) and thin (I wondered if it was just a liner) as it is can do the job. The recommended layering for the jacket is light; I'm still experimenting with layering for different conditions, but I don't have to bulk up like I did for my heavy parka. I am very pleased with the purchase. Now, LL Bean, can you get some gloves and caps made of the same material?!
