This is a great mid-weight layer. Worked well for me on a couple recent, bitter cold, days snowboarding in ME, and comfy for daily wear.

Lightweight and warm. I wear it u def my ski shell as another layer and it definitely does the trick.

Great jacket. Very light weight, but warm down to about the mid-thirties which is what I was looking for. For below freezing you would need something warmer or wear it as a layer.

Lightweight, warm, 2nd one my husband has. He wears it all the time. Great for travel because it packs down. A neat looking jacket that can be worn for nicer occasions too.

This is my husband's second packaway jacket. He loves it! It's lightweight, it fits right, and it keeps him warm most of the winter when it's not bitter cold out. The grey color is fine, but he likes the shade of green of his original one...a color that his been discontinued. He tore the sleeve on his original one, but it's been saved for outdoor work

I purchased this jacket for my son who always tends to run a little warm, and hates the bulkiness of a big winter jacket. This is perfect!! It's sporty and lightweight but provides a good deal of warmth from the elements. I would definitely recommend.

It's great by itself but also a great extra layer. It's thin enough that it doesn't add bulk but it sure adds warmth! Love it!

My husband absolutely loves this jacket. It's lightweight and well designed, with ample pockets, a shorter length that's comfortable when you're physically active or driving, and a loose fit that allows for layering underneath. And the black color is very versatile.

This jacket was a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. He said it's the best jacket he's ever owned. It's warm enough with a base layer to stay warm in 20 degree weather especially if you are moving. It's so light weight that we both were kind of skeptical that it would actually be warm. Several times he's said he was actually hot while wearing the jacket. The fact that it can be folded and packed away in its own pocket is an added bonus. I bought the black and am hoping it will be a great spring and fall jacket as well with a lighter base layer. I definitely was hesitant buying because of some of the reviews but the jacket is amazing, don't hesitate!

I bought this jacket a month ago, and it has been great in this cold New York winter. Lightweight, compact jacket. If it is super cold, layering also work. Love the fact that this is another great product from LL Bean.

This jacket is thin enough to wear under a heavier coat for very cold weather, but also works great on it's own when the temps are more moderate. I also found that the shoulder felt tight, so while I wear a L in LLBean shirts, I exchanged for an XL in this jacket.
