Comfortable and supportive. However, asymmetric in size - one being wider and longer than the other. I returned them, hoping to order another pair, but three days later they had disappeared from the website ( even a search using the LLB SKU failed ) - making me wonder if there were other significant complaints or simply a seasonal deletion. I suspect the former as the LLB Outlet in Freeport had a constant supply all of last Winter. A shame, really; I had high hopes for this being the perfect Maine Mud Season boot.

This is my second pair of these boots. The first pair were awesome and lasted several years. I sent the first new pair I received back due to poor stitching on the rear of boot. The replacement pair are better, but the quality of the boot seems less, possibly due to a change in manufacturer. I will see in time how the new pair lasts.

I have a pair of storm chasers that are several years old. Just got a new pair and noticed that they are made in Viet Nam. I thought all LL Bean items were still made in Maine, but they are not apparently. Had I known these were being made in Vietnam I would not have ordered them. They are fairly priced, but I bought them anyway because they sill advertise Made in USA. This will be my last order from LL Bean. Very disappointed. Thanks...Buy American!!

The boots are very hard to put on. Don't plan on just slipping into them. Good fit once you get in them but real pain to get there.

I thought the boot was very comfortable and easy on and off. Also warm in the cold. My problem was with the sole. There was a black track added down the center that was indented and makes the soles very hard to clean. I can see no purpose for this indentations. This is a real problem with mud.

The boots look to be very high quality, but I'm not sure how they feel as they were too small for me to wear. I ordered a 1/2 size above my usual shoe size, so length at least appeared to be close to what I needed. However, the boots were so narrow that I could not get my foot all the way into them. I had such high hopes as these were exactly what I wanted, but now they'll be returned. To add insult to injury, LL Bean is charging me $6.50 to return the product. Prior to ordering I had inquired about LL Bean's return policy as I had noted the numerous complaint reviews regarding size issues (which why I ordered 1/2 size larger than normal) and I was never informed about a charge for product return. I thought LL Bean was all about customer service, but apparently not.

Performance-wise these are good boots. Whether it's been snowblowing the driveway, chopping wood or just out and about in the weather, they've kept my feet warm and dry. The traction is adequate if not exceptional. The problem is getting them on. As a few other reviewers noted, this can be very difficult. I usually wear a 10.5, and I wasn't even close to getting them on. I returned those and got a pair of 11.5's and could not get my foot into them initially without the help of a shoehorn - not exactly what you're looking for in slip on boots. After a bunch of wear, I can get them on now without that, but each time it's a struggle. My feet are neither exceptionally wide nor exceptionally long, so I'm not sure what the issue is, but be advised that these might be a challenge for you, particularly if you order at your size. Net net, I like the boots but wish they were easier to get on and off.

The boots are warm, lite and comfortable, the zipper works well and they look good. They are not easy to put on. It takes a real tug to get my foot in. I think that the zipper should go at least an inch closer to the floor. Once the boot is on it is a little loose at the top. I had a zipper boot a few years ago that weremuch better designed.

After trying boots from a regional chain, and having to return both pair, I decided to try LLBean. These seemed ideal, easy on with a zipper, and not too heavy. Some of the comments about fit bothered me, so i ordered both 11 1/2 and 12. The 11.5 were too small, but fit snug at the top, the size 12 were way too big, plus a huge gap at the top where snow would come in by the shovel full. Considering the price, and not being on sale, plus neither size fit correctly, I'm returning both pair Never worn out of the living room. Lady in customer service suggested i purchase a boot that comes in wide, but all those had ties. A fat old geezer like myself has a hard enough time getting boots on, and about impossible to then lean over and tie them. Maybe you won't have fat feet like me and they will be perfect for you. l

It is very hard to get boot on my feet. The heal leans forward too much. Hurt to get them on. Once on they are great. Can't use double socks.

I thought a side zipper would make these easy to put on however, It was a real struggle to get into these boots. I ordered two pair s, my size and a 1/2 size up. The length was good but maybe I needed a wide,. Sending both back. The quality seemed very good and I like the sole tread.

I wear a size 11.5 in boat mocs and Bison loafers. I ordered a size 12 boot and they were still a half size too small. Boots were made in Vietnam. Bison loafers I love and they're made in El Salvadore. Boots have been returned for credit.

Unfortunately this boot is not as good as the old pull on style. Side zip should be easier to put on than the old pull on style. WAY more difficult to put on. I wouldn't buy this boot again. Recommend you look elsewhere for this style of boot.

I wear a 91/2 shoe. I bought the 10 because I thought I would wear a heaver sock. I can't wear it because the boot is too narrow. I have to wear a thin sock. A 101/2 would be too long for me. I wish they would make wide with. I contemplating sending the boot back for a refund.

I can't believe a company that's been it business like forever, give the customer the option to purchase their best selling boot in a WIDE size, it's like trying to fit my foot into a sausage casing, appreciate you listening even though it won't change the outcome, it's just a dam shame, because I like the boot. Thanks

So far so good, one major snowstorm where boot provided good traction. I have cut off the front loop as it kept hanging up on my pants. Average warmth.

I loved the look of the boots. Unfortunately I could not get my feet in either boot. I ended up buying the similar boots with shoe strings that tied in the front. Bought the same size, the tie up fit very well. the side zipper unfortunately did not, they were not for me. I was disappointed that I could not get the side zipper boots on, I did like the similar boot with shoestrings. It was a little difficult to get the boots on, but once I got them on they fit very well.

The inside stitching of material is opening up within the seams, has not broken open completely when it does, I will be returning them.

Went to store to buy the shoe which was 20 percent off online.Store would not honor the offer.Had to order online and wait instead of just picking it up at store. ( Would have saved S & H for LL Bean ).Shoe went 50 percent off the following week and store would not credit for the new price. Not a great buying experience. : (

My husband never wears wide width shoes--his feet are not wide. These boots are so narrow that they have to be returned, unfortunately. Disappointing. Otherwise the quality looks good.

thought all of LLBeans clothes/boots were made in USA. The storm chaser boots were too narrow and had to be returned for a larger size which fit ok. I then looked at the label and saw the boots are made in Vietnam! I then checked their jacket and saw it's made in bangladesh. The prices are too high for out of country manufacture.

LL Bean needs to make more boots in wides and bring back the low front zip boot so people can get their high insteps into them. Love the boot, but the fit just doesn't work
