The slippers were nice but the SMOOTH LEATHER SOLES are very slippery when walking on carpet or smooth surface. Had to send them back because they were too dangerous for my 79 yr. old husband to wear.

Could not help but slide around on my carpet. Maybe I'll take some sandpaper to the soles to get them roughed up before I break my neck.

This pair of slippers has hard, stiff, inflexible leather, The fit is sloppy. The fit and leather quality is totally different from the LL Bean slippers I've purchased in the past. This purchase was for the 3rd pair of LL Bean slippers I have had over the years. The leather of the previous was soft and supple, the fit tight at first so that the slippers soon comfortably formed around the feet. Given the satisfaction I've had with the previous slippers, these new slippers are disappointing.

This is my husbands go-to slipper. Excellent quality materials and workmanship. He wears a 11 - 11 1/2 shoe. We buy an 11 in this slipper.

Quality leather, quality name, wear around house only for cleaning house, etc. Purchased L.L. Bean products in past and they were always quality merchandise. Would have expected the L.L. Bean name to be inscribed on the side in plain view rather than on bottom of sole and inside.

The leather on the top and soles of the shoe is beautiful, but the inside lining is not up to the same quality. The footbed is made of an extremely cheap foam that I think will break down very quickly.

These are my fifth pair in almost 40 years! One more than one occasion Ive forgotten to change into street shoes and ventured to dinner or a meeting or to meet-up with the guys and received complements on the style! The quality, comfort, durability and style has not changed one bit.
Thank you LL!

I asked my wife for these last Christmas. At that time they were advertised as "durable". By May they had holes worn through both soles. I wore them around the house. I returned them to LLBean.
LLBean said the holes were normal wear and tear and that they would not repair or replace them. I have had leather soled moccasins before that lasted years before they wore out. These are beautifully made but the leather is too soft and definitely not durable.
I am disappointed in LLBeans response and will look elsewhere for future footwear purchases. T

Nicely made, no sole on them. I take a 20.5 so had to buy an 11 which means the fit is sloppy.

Well, after going through different pairs of slippers, I thought that my leather double sole slipper .. leather lined was going to be the "answer". Regrettably, the leather lining is rather uncomfortable as I like many do not always have socks on when I wear them. I wind up deferring to my "old" fleece lined slippers, sadly. I am trying to get used to them; but, I fear that there may yet be another exchange in my future.

Nice looking, but not a comfortable shoe. There is no arch support whatsoever

In a little over 2 years, I have wore holes in the double soles. I have been purchasing from Bean's since 1980; I still have most of the products I have purchased from Bean's. This is the first product that I consider to be of lax workmanship and quality.

Every other piece of footwear I own is a 12 D or EE.
Great stuff but 12 are more like 14 EE. Go at least a size down. I've returned for 11 D and let's see how those work... If not I'll try 10.5. they worth the trial and error. I mean I get it. Hand made. My ancestors were not that precise either!!

Well made. As advertised. But the size is larger than prior purchases. Considerably larger. Tried to wear over the last week - but they are just larger than expected. Too large.

Overall, the craftsmanship and style of the product is about what I was expecting. This is first impressions, so I am interested to see if I experience the same sole wearing issues as others, or the 30 year build quality.
I initially bought a half size up, because it suggests to go up for half sizes and to wear with light socks or barefoot. I had to return them and bought a half size down. The width is great, but they are not as snug as LL Bean suggests. I dont think I can go a full size and a half down. I would like them more snug, because they would make a great all year house shoe if they were.
The craftsmanship is ok. There was some slight wrinkling and discoloration in one of the slippers. Given it is a house slipper, not overly bothered. We will see how they break in and if the fit gets better.

With a lining it makes the slipper a better fit. Being in FL I wanted a light slipper but they are too big without lining

My father loved these at first. They are beautiful slippers. However, the double leather sole doesn't hold up. After less than a year, there were holes in the bottom. So we bought him another pair. Same thing. My father only wears these outside to get the newspaper and possibly a bit around the yard, but both layers of leather wore through easily. So we are now trying the L.L. Bean hand sewn leather slippers, that are the same style, but flannel lined and have an actual sole on the bottom. So far he likes them quite a bit and says they are much warmer and more comfortable because they have some cushioning.

Why doesn't LL Bean make a firm moccasin with insole support for women? I tried this in the smallest size offered and it was still too big. It's just too big for a woman's foot, especially in the heal.

I purchased my pair of these slippers almost 2 years ago and the upper is made of some cheap man made leather that did not break in well. I wouldn't recommend them and should not be of L.L. Bean acceptance quality.

This product makes a loud squeaking sound as you walk unless you put on socks which kind of defeats the purpose of having slippers

Want to love these slippers, fit and look is great. Ynfortunately in less than one year the bottom of one slipper has started to wear through. Very unfortunate as these are only worn around the house mornings/evenings. At the price this type wear should not occur with the leather. Very disappointed.
