I bought these for my husband and he was very dissatisfied. If you're older and can't afford to fall don't buy these slippers. They are slick on rugs , wood floors and tile. Also, it was too large. He waited two months to get these because they were back ordered and wore them for 20 minutes and we are going to return them. Very disappointing.

Soles were as slick as being on ice. Bought some stick on pads to mitigate. Almost fell with my first step on tile. Same for rug and hardwood floor. Lacing irritates foot so took it out. Leather interior is not soft so must wear socks. Overall a bad product and not what we have been used to getting from LL Bean.

I've had multiple pairs of these slippers for many years and loved them; they were--bar none--the best leather slippers I have ever owned! But this pair, while advertised as leather, and look like leather in the online ad page, are NOT leather but cheap plastic made to look like it. They were stiff like plastic. They don't even smell of leather, but plastic! They might, just maybe have been cheap "bonded" leather, but that's garbage and falls apart quickly as it's nothing but leather particles from other manufacturing held together by glue. At the high price charged for this plastic garbage, we are very disappointed in LL Bean's buyers and have lost trust in the truthfulness of your catalog's claims about your products. My husband will be going elsewhere to obtain REAL LEATHER from now on. Bean, you will lose your customer base selling products like these, and that's a shame, but it's your business and assets to lose.

Like the shoe, however, I wear a size 8 and one half. It is recommended to order next size up , so ordered a 9. They fell off my feet. So I returned them and ordered size 8. I have been wearing them for two weeks and they are terribly uncomfortable because they are too tight and short. LL Bean should and could make half sizes like every other manufacturer. So I would love the shoe if it fit, but it does not. My recommendation is that if you wear a half size, forget these shoes and find the right fit somewhere else.

I've owned these for 11 months and noticed that the sole on one slipper is worn out already. I wear the slippers daily inside the house, walking on hardwood floors, carpeting, and occasionally on a concrete garage floor. While the slippers are very comfortable, I am disappointed that they have worn out so soon. Their durability is less than I expect, especially from LL Bean.

Bought a pair thinking these would last me several years, boy was I wrong. Didn't even last a year before it had worn through both layers of leather. This was daily/ after work wear(4 hours average) on hardwood floors with the odd trip to the garage. I sent them back to LL Bean within a year and was told that was normal wear and they would not be replaced. Sadly this must be the way LL Bean is going. Will no longer be shopping at LL Bean after generations of our family doing so.

I bought a pair of these mocassins (my first pair) some years ago and was very happy with their construction. Very durable. After that pair was very worn, I decided to purchase a new pair.
The new pair was not constructed nearly as durable as the original pair I had. The rivets were not crimped into the leather properly, and immediately began popping out. The sole -- not stitched -- was secured with a glue which proved to be inadequate to sustain regular daily wear and occasional water contact. I would not recommend these shoes given that -- in my view -- the quality of construction has degraded substantially.

I saw these slippers in the LLBean Book and I really liked them, so I ordered them. When they arrived at my home,I took them out of the box and put them on. They were so slick on the carpet I was afraid I would slip and fall. I'm 73 years old and these are very dangerous for men to wear.

I have enjoyed LLBean's stuff for years. So I was VERY disappointed with these slippers. First time on - right out of the box - I nearly slid across the floor. The bottoms are slick as glass. They need to have a outside sole. In addition, they were too big and too wide. They need to come in half-sizes. On the pllus side, I returned them for full credit. So I am still a LLBean customer - just not for their footwear.

the top ripped in less then 2 years. i had a pair before that lasted 10 years. $100 is to much to pay for slippers that have such a short life.

I bought a pair of these slippers two months ago and loved them. They were becoming increasingly comfortable as they got broken in. However, after three weeks, the inner leather peice under the heal separated from the peice under the toe at the glued seam. I have now received two more replacement pairs which have had the same problem but within the first day of use. Each time, it is toward the outside edge of the right slipper. This is not what I expected for the price I paid. I notice this has been reported multiple times before. This seems like a design flaw or poor construction and poor adhesive. Why not have a single peice of leather for the length of the insole?
