My boots far exceeded my expectations. They were delivered early and I couldn't be happier. They are warm in the snow but not bulky. They are comfortable, unlike some boots you can't wait to take off when you are inside. Buying these is a no brainer.

Got these with a great discount, last minute purchase. They were sold out in the women's size that I needed but the representative on the phone was very helpful in guiding me through an equivalent size in the men's for my daughter. They fit perfectly and they have easily been the "most worn" gift this Christmas telling me they are comfortable and warm even for just normal every day wear. I have to admit they ARE also pretty fashionable with her thick wool socks and leggings! I love knowing that she will have these for years to come.

I bought these boots to have warm, waterproof shoes for walking my dogs this winter. The sizing chart suggested that I should get a half or full size smaller, which I did, and the boots fit very well. My feet remain warm and dry, as hoped!

These boots are terrific. They come in my size and width (B) which is difficult to find. They are warm, dry, comfortable and best of all - Made in the USA (Maine).

The tongue bends sort of odd in the 8" boots that I did not notice with the smaller boots (if you wear thicker socks or don't tie them as tight it goes away), otherwise these boots are phenomenal.

Nice boot. Great fit and feel. Comfortable. Great value for the dollar. The Thinsulate lining helps keep your feet warm.

I'd give these boots 6 stars if I could. Received these boots a day before a blizzard storm so these were put to the test right away. Wore just plain cotton socks and these boots kept my feet warm and dry after several hours working outside. I normally wear a size 10 shoe and ordered a size down per the instructions and they fit great. They are alittle loose with regular socks, but that makes it easy to slip on and off. If I want to wear thick socks they will still fit with comfort. Also having the satisfaction knowing these are made in the USA is an added bonus. Thanks for a great boot LL Bean!

I got these before the winter rush knowing that they would likely be on short supply. After 3 attempts I finally got them right for my size, and all the LLB staff were very helpful. Today (the day after the world should have ended, 12/22/12, we had our first serious snow storm. I live in upstate NY, stationed at Fort Drum, and it gets nasty up here. I was excited the night before because I knew I would have a chance to test these out, shoveling and cleaning off the truck. I laced these up, eager like a kid on Xmas morning, put on my Baxter State Parka (t-shirt underneath as I had to test the coat out as well) and went to work. The snow in some parts was above ankle deep and these did the job. Feet stayed warm and dry, and I have no complaints. I'm sold, LLB rocks. Get them, get the non-thinsulate pair too for those really rainy days, and you wont be disappointed.

I'll start by saying, I don't typically write reviews. However, this boot is worth writing about. First pair, fit is true - I followed the fitting guide provide on the web site, warm, insulated and best of all --- dry! If you live/work in a climate that is wet and cold, get a pair, you'll thank yourself later. I'm trying to find reasons to wear these boots. I work in an office, but really want to wear them to work. Enjoy!!!

Just purchased my third pair in more than 20 years. I love these and wear them year round -- in the winter with LLBean wool socks and the rest of the year with cotton socks for yard work. I can't remember what I ever did without them!

I just received my boots and I love them. The only disappointment I have is that it is unseasonably warm and dry in Chicago and I can't wear them yet! I purchased a size smaller as recommended and they fit perfect. They are very well made and very comfortable.

I haven't had the boots too long yet, but I have worn them on several cold rainy days and they have been excellent. My boots are super comfortable and pleasantly warm.

Our 16 year old son wanted L.L. Bean Boots with 8" Thinsulate because he knows his Dad has worn and loved his L.L. Bean Boots for over 30 years ! They fit well. Also, they keep feet warm and dry.

Had a pair off the 8" Thinsulate Boots years ago and loved them. I bought a different brand name and they were of inferior quality to the L.L. Bean boot. They leaked around the eyelets making them very uncomfortable to wear. Won't make that mistake again. Just received my new pair of 8" Thinsulate boots and I cannot be happier.

After purchasing and returning several duck boots, I decided to give L.L. Bean a try. I cannot believe how happy I am for doing so. These boots feel great! The Thinsulate adds a perfect degree of warmth and cushion which makes these a great three-season boot. I use them mostly when going birding, which entails a lot of walking through many different terrains and conditions. They are also great as a porch boot...for those times you need to throw on a shoe or boot to go grab the paper while it is raining, or to run out and take down the bird feeder before bed. All-in-all I would recommend these boots to anyone who is looking for a durable, all-weather, comfortable, boot. (I would not recommend these boots for a primary hiking boot. Even though they are comfortable during long hikes, the sole tends to wear quickly when using them on rough terrain.)

Got the gold standard LL Bean 8" boot at graduate's request. All the kids are wearing them and they are so practical for all-around use on campus or at school. When the snow flies and the footing gets messy, there is nothing better than these boots. Grandson wears 11 narow shoe, so we got the size 10 boot, narrow and it is a perfect fit.

I recently ordered and received the LLBean Boot 8" Thinsulate. I went with their recommendation to go down one full size when ordering. I wear a 10 reg. in all my footware. I ordered the 9 reg. and I must say, they were right on with the sizing. At first I was sceptical when I ordered, but I am very satisfied with the fit. The boot is very comfortable and I wear them when doing all my outside chores or during wet weather. I am very satisfied with the craftsmenship and the looks & feel of these boots.

My boys love this boot. Highly recommend the product. Customer service is incredible! This boot runs one size larger than your normal shoe size. Numerous reviews stated that but I went with the one review that said that wasn't the case. So, I had to return the original purchase for a size smaller. The process for returns and exchanges was so easy and service friendly.

I ordered my boots and followed the size guide. I'm normally a 9.5 Wide. So I ordered an 8 Wide and they are PERFECT! I can't say enough about the boots.
