I'm not sure how long I've owned these boots - somewhere between 10 and 15 years. I wear them to work almost every day in the winter months which here in Big Moose NY starts in late October and lasts to ... well - it's April 6th and my road still has hard packed snow and ice on it, there is 2 to 3 feet of snow in the woods and snowmobiles are still riding the lake. I work in the Town Code Enforement office doing building inspections and have to be outside in mud, snow, ice, water and everything in between. My feet stay warm, comfortable and protected and the boots clean up well when I go back to the office. I also choose these boots when responding to ambulance calls during inclement weather. These boots also have the BEST traction in hard pack snow and ice conditions than any boot I've worn without grippers. These boots are not for extended periods of time outside in cold (20 degrees or colder# weather unless you are very active. The soles have worn enough on mine so they tend to slip a little and I've had to sew the uppers back on in a couple of places where the stiching wore out. I will be getting a new pair for next winter. #I also have a pair of slip on boots for walking the dog when the snow isn't too deep) Love these boots

Bought these boots as a compliment to the 6" non-insulated boot that I recently purchased. These are comfortable with great arch support. I have worn these recently in the snow and on a couple of morning fishing trips when the temp was in the low 20's. I wore a pair of medium weight socks and feet never got cold. these boots are only insulated in the foot part (where the rubber is) only, which is not an issue to me. The tread on the boot actually works very well and doesn't hold mud like my hunting boots. These boots will be good for early spring gobbler before the snakes come out and in late october/early November for hunting. Also, will be good to wear for being out and about in cold wet conditions, which is why I choose this particular boot. Would I hunt in 20 or below temperatures in these? probably not. But I have boots for hunting in such conditions.

It was very hard to find nice pair of snow boots for my husband that are warm and practical, especially through online order. He is very picky about what shoes/boots to wear and always wanted to try on first before buying. I have read many reviews about these boots so I ordered a pair nevertheless. The boots fit perfectly. He wore them cleaning up the driveway after NE was hit by the snow store on Feb 15, and he loved it. They kept his feet warm and dry. I was really happy. With LLBean quality, this pair will be used in many more winters to come.

My husband is very pleased with his "duck boots" as he calls them. I ordered down a size as instructed in the size chart on LLB's website and the fit seems perfect.

I bought these for my teenage son in size 10 and he normally wears a 10 1/2. I'll be returning them for a size 9 as they were sloppy big! These are great shoes for wet & slushy snow, a classic item!

Bought these to replace an old pair of Sorels and these boots are far and away warmer, more waterproof, and fit better. Plenty of chance to test them out here in Michigan winter weather. Well constructed and the outsoles have excellent traction. No regrets whatsoever and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new pair of cold-weather boots.

As soon as I put them on, I was hooked. Perfect fit, a little stiff initially but a couple days in and they are nice and comfy. Insulation is under foot only but it certainly helps and they are quite comfortable. Generally wear a 9 and ordered an 8, for a perfect fit. I would think with further break in these will just get better. Recommended :)

Though priced higher than I wanted to pay, these boots are very high quality. They keep my feet warm and look like they are going to last through many tough Maine winters

I just finished a day outside snowblowing and shovelling from the Blizzard of 2013. My feet stayed dry, warm, and comfortable. These are the BEST winter boots I have ever owned. Performed beyond expectations.

Great boot and good fit. I ordered a 10 w...usually wear a 10 wide. They are a little longer, but fine. Comfortable and can wear heavier socks if needed. Use them to take the dog for a walk several times daily.

My first L.L. Bean product and I seriously love it! At first I thought the fit was a little too snug, but after I broke it in, the boots were perfect. The quality feels second to none, and I hope to take these on all my adventures. They really are waterproof (waded across a stream to get to a destination). Only thing I didn't like about the boots is when I drive with them on, angles weird.

Bought these for my son who is in college. He wears a size 14 or 15 shoe. The 14 fit perfectly. Really great in rain or snow.

I'm very satisfied with this boot. Very comfortable and the craftsmanship is high quality. I normally wear a 11 1/2, but followed the advice and ordered a 10 since these boots run big. Glad I did! They fit perfectly! You won't be disappointed.

Ordered them back in December, Finally got them on Jan 24th. The entire transaction went smoothly. The boots went on special after I ordered but LL.Bean was really good with adjusting the price. Their customer service is impeccable. The Boots are perfect for the weather here in Montreal. I got them toward the end of a very chilly week. With temperatures around the -30 Celsius mark, they kept my feet warm. I wouldn't wear them too much indoors because you feet will sweat. The thinsulate lining is soft and comfortable. It is raining these days and I feel confident walking in puddles of water. I applied some Obenauf's on the leather and not only they darkened color which made the boots look fantastic, the waterproofing properties will make sure that my leather last for a long time. Oh the fit, my right foot is about a half size smaller than my left foot, so the right foot is a bit lose, but it doesn't bother me that much. Buy it

I bought this shoe for both my father and boyfriend and they're both very satisfied! Excellent quality and they both serve their needs, whether it be working outdoors or enduring rough weather. According to the guys, it takes about a week to break them in, but after that they're extremely comfortable and warm. I will definitely continue purchasing L.L. Bean shoes/anything for my family members, the customer service was generous when I needed to change sizes and immediately shipped the new pair after I called.

What more can you say! A classic boot design. It's been around for so long because it's functional and made with quality.....period! And it's made in the great state of Maine!

I (mother)purchased these boots for my son(25)and daughter (21) who is a senior at UNH. Even though the boots didn't arrive until last week, they LOVE them! Perfect fit,look great for commuting in the city or slugging to class. and just in time for the snowfall this week. I purchased the low gum boots 30+ years ago after graduating from college and am still wearing them even though there are holes in the top , much to the embarrassment of my children. Perhaps they'll buy me new ones next Christmas..thank you LL Bean, we are never disappointed . Mary H

What can you say about these boots that hasn't already been said ? They are excellent, of course, warm and lightweight. They last forever and actually look better when they've been through a couple of winter seasons. If I were to suggest any criticism at all it would be the boot's rubber soles tend to slide on slippery surfaces because there's no hard part of the sole to dig into hard snow or ice.

I bought these to replace a pair that were 30 year old. I wouldn't make it through the winter without them.

Received about a week ago. Still not completely broken in, but very comfortable. I really like them and from what I can see they will last a long time. Only improvement I can think of would be to put better laces in them. Maybe these laces will soften up and become more flexible as they wear.
